  1. Clinton and O'Malley have put their gun control plans forward. Will any other candidates stand up to the NRA? http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/255888-clinton-unveiling-gun-control-plan
  2. He was listed as a 2009 graduate of the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, a private school for students with learning disabilities, emotional issues and other special-education needs. Officials from the school declined to comment on Friday. Mr. Harper-Mercer joined the Army for a month in 2008 but was discharged before finishing basic training. In one exchange, a writer who appeared to be Ms. Harper offered assistance to the mother of a child with Asperger’s syndrome, saying, “I’m a nurse and also have an Aspergers kid.” http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/10/03/us/chris-harper-mercer-umpqua-community-college-shooting.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=photo-spot-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&referer=http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/10/04/us/mass-murderers-fit-profile-as-do-many-others-who-dont-kill.html
  3. Seems that she's been a consistant gun control advocate. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/29/hillary-clinton-really-is-coming-for-your-guns.html What single issue is more important than staying alive?
  4. All the mass murders have been issues of mental illness, not poverty. There has to be more scrutiny of who is allowed to own guns. It shows that Bernie's not ready for the big stage. A person that aspires for national office should lead his constituents, not just pander to their wishes even when they differ with the majority of the country. It's like politicians in Kentucky pandering by supporting Kim Davis. Like Obama said, it's time that people opposed to the gun lobby become single issue voters like those led by the NRA have, and hold the candidates responsible for how they would vote on gun laws.
  5. Yes, but fans in Cleveland will love the Monsters this season.
  6. The early games had prospects that were hungry to prove themselves. These guys look a bit too content.
  7. Usually teams improve as they play more games. The Sabres are getting worse.
  8. Bernie supporters can't be happy with his voting record on guns. Voted against the Brady bill, for prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers and sellers, for allowing firearms in checked baggage on Amtrak trains, and for cutting off aid to countries that require the registration of, or taxes guns owned by US citizens. That may appeal to Vermont voters, but that won't fly with Democrats nationally when they find out.
  9. I just hate to see you guys have your bubble burst, so I guess like Biden I'm trying to give you some realism. It's tough enough being a Buffalo sports fan; we've run out of bubbles to burst.
  10. You got the wrong Joe, I didn't say it. Run, Bernie, run! It's good practice for Hillary.
  11. Biden's first shot at Sanders viability? “Listen, I’m not Bernie Sanders. He’s a great guy, by the way. No he really is. I’m not a populist. But I’m a realist.” http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/joe-biden-im-not-bernie-sanders
  12. He could be a call up if there's an injury.
  13. Well the Constitution says you have to be born American to become president, there's nothing about being dead.
  14. I'd rather watch Reinhart than any of the others that might take his spot.
  15. Shooting at Oregon community college. Reported 10 dead, 20 injured. Shooter in custody.
  16. Most of what's written here is our opinion or interpretation of the facts. It's the truth for whoever believes it. I say let the Bernie supporters have their moment in the sun before reality hits. Even if for some crazy reason Hillary couldn't finish the primary, the majority of Democrats would support Biden, O'Malley, or even Webb before giving Bernie the nomination, in my opinion. He would be considered a modern version of McGovern, with no chance of winning purple states.
  17. Next time? He'd be 79! So fellow Republicans are upset with probable Speaker Kevin McCarthy for admitting their real agenda by implying that the Bengazi committees have succeeded in hurting Hillary's poll numbers.
  18. Not really, Dean was a viable general election candidate, which Sanders isn't. But it's good practice for Hillary, so he's doing a service for the party. Biden is doing well in polls because he's not running. If he did, he'd be branded as a third Obama term and his numbers would drop. In other news, Fiorina has been proven to be wrong about her debate PP video claims. The story she told about an aborted baby being kept alive for its parts was in fact a miscarriage and was not done at PP, and the audio was spliced in from another recording. The mother who had the miscarriage confirmed it today. Will Fiorina apologize and say she was duped by the video, or double down?
  19. 1. They used to be run by the League of Women Voters, but the Republicans claimed they had a liberal bias. 2. No, he should quit politics while everyone still thinks well of him, and definitely no, we don't need another too liberal unelectable candidate.
  20. She might be worried she's not going to get a piece of the payout if the evidence is weak. I expect this case to be the basis of a future episode of Law & Order: SVU.
  21. That's an interesting take, I hadn't thought of that.
