Girl Storm by Mrs. @SwampD. Just getting into it and it's fantastic. Just enough humour to make an impossibly difficult situation tollerable (not the best word to use here, but it's certainly not an enjoyable or fun situation they were in). @SwampD you and Peg are a true example of what loving parents should / need to be.

There is a good reason why the pre-season does not count for anything. The Bills will be fine. 13 wins and the division again. They will be hosting the AFC Championship game and will win it. They will win the SB. Josh will be MVP. Book it.

Is KA done tinkering with the roster this off-season?

What in the blazes ?? -
And still on ...

Billy Idol is playing here in a few days. I am tempted, but only if we can turn back time to 1976. Before he sold his soul for a pop hit or two. And it seems that he can't sing anymore.

(Off-season) What’s your favorite Sabrespace meme?

The 'Miller shut out'. -
Is this thing still on ?? Fantastic !!

It was actually less than that. 5/100ths of a second is basically unmeasurable except by a computer. All the 'photo finish' angles are inconclusive. Dude basically won by a chest hair (if he has any) standing erect as opposed to lying flat.

We were in the area for a day - rented a car and went to Pompeii. Got lost on the return and missed returning the car before place shut and missed our train to the next town - slept in not great place in rental car - returned car the next morning and got the next train to - I forget where, but I think Turin. Nothing too exciting, but we were not in our 20s anymore when these things didn't faze us atoll.

See my edit. -
Venice is absolutely overrun - just ask the Venitians - they want all the tourists to leave and not to come back. Same with Dubrovnik in Croatia. Venice is amazing to see, but try to spend only 1 day there. Tuscany (Florence area) is great. Pisa is in the area too. Rome is fantastic and great in the fall - not too hot or crowded. Any further south is tricky for heat even in September. Pompei is very interesting, but kind of near Napoli which is a bit rough in places - we were lost there and barely made it out - long story. If you have some time the north is fantastic with the Alps.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen signed 5x4.75mil

Signed in 2008 for 2009 - 2013 - $32M approx. I would say he was excellent for all of that contract. He was traded as part of the complete melt down to St. Louis with Ott in late February 2014. He got 1 more $6M per year contact from Vancouver (2014 - 2016) and then a few more from the Ducks to close out his career. I would say he was good for at least most of his 3 years in Vancouver. The Ducks signed him for 2 years at $2M per in 2017. Then for 1 year for $1M for 2019 and another for 2020 (at age 40). Still listed as UFA even though he retired. EDIT TO ADD: I see that you were asking about prior to the big contract in 2009 ... in 2006 he signed for 3 years and $18M ... 2005 (lockout year - $500K) Before that a 1 year Rookie Contract for $1M. So, I would say Miller was good for maybe a year or 2 before he got his big contract - not a lot unlike 6K. -
Thanks for making the poll public. I know who to shame for voting no.

This is a win - win contract. Both sides should be very happy. The last time the Sabres felt this confident in a goalie was when Miller signed his 5 year extension something like 20 years ago. -
Sabres added speed this offseason -Check the numbers

What was that you said ? I was distracted. -
I'm feeling nostalgic today. I miss 1980 with The Clash and Mikey Dread at the controls. RIP Joe - it's been more than 20 years now. RIP Mikey - it's been more than 15 years now.

It's not the size that matters, but how one uses it. That's what she / he always says. It's truer than true.
-
He refused to work for a team the choose to lose on purpose, IMO. I don't think Ruff was 'fired'. He was given the choice and he left.
-
I believe he will sign for 5 @ $4.75M to $5M just before his hearing. Just because he filed does not mean either side intends to go there. He has a bit more leverage now.

I have letters after my name and am a numbers guy. There is a pattern in there, but I have not figured it out yet. -
The Sabres will make the playoffs this season if ___________

If UPL and some backup or other hold up. The defence plays even a bit tighter than last year. The goal scorers remember how to score even while focusing on the defencive side of the game overall. Better forechecking and taking away the neutral zone. All the kids are a year older and hopefully they took the summer seriously to be ready for camp. Good luck on the injury front. A good amount of puck luck will not hurt. I hate the loser point, so just win baby - preferably in regulation. Ruff inspires them to be real men. In the East 7th or 8th is a realistic goal this year and then anything can happen. -
There is private insurance for prescriptions, glasses and dental. Those are usually purchased through employer plans (cheaper premiums due to volume), but often have a co-pay (Intuit pays 100% of my premiums for me and my wife - over $4,000 / year). There are limits as to coverage for certain things and amounts per year. There are no plans to get a jump on the lines for tests and such. Here in NS there are some private for profit companies that offer certain tests - mostly MRIs and such. If you can / want to pay you can go to those clinics. I do know many people who opted to go to the US or even Europe for treatments of certain cancers and such. In NS MSI (the provincial medical services administrator for the government) will reimburse out of pocket expenses up to the limits set in NS for similar services or for services not offered in NS. Private insurance may help a bit for out of Canada treatments depending on the plans - most people travelling will purchase additional coverage for example. That coverage can be purchased when going for treatments. There are also tax credits available for medical expenses paid for my the taxpayer, including out of province / country treatments and travel costs.
