Don't trade the good players we have, unless it's for an equally good player at a position of need. I would trade whatever number 1 we end up with for a good 2nd line forward. Package it with other stuff to get a very good 1st / 2nd line forward. And don't lottery protect it.

I don't think either of them have that much faith in Reimer. They brought him in and they waived him. The team picking him up on waivers ended up waiving him. The Sabres claimed him off waivers. There is not much confidence there, but let's all hope Reimer fools everybody - especially the Sharks tonight, if he, indeed, does play.

One big difference - in 05/06 they were not trying to exorcise the demons after a tragic decision by management. They were slowly rebuilding the team from the ashes of a Cup final run a few short years prior. Big difference, but I hope for the best.
