Sabres Fan in NS

This is very true in the sense that there is much more meaning when you are playing for your country and not your pay.

The fights were awesome.

I have 'loved' the Sabres since day one. That said, in recent years I have moved from wanting nothing more than a Sabre cup and a Bills Super Bowl win to having them as a background distraction to my everyday existance. I too am richly blessed, except in one regard - my wife's chronic health issues that we have been dealing with our entire time together, which is almost 40 years now. That's real love.

His play and points and everything else didn't matter atoll. The fans, mostly his countrymen and countrywomen, voted for him and voted often. That is the only reason why he made it. There may have been more deserving Sabres (I have no idea), a fan voted in guy from that particular Sabre team meant that there were going to be no other Sabre invited.

Everybody in Latvia voted for him and a handful of people in Western New York and a sprinkling in the Greater Satan Area and me in NS and that's about it.

Happy Birthday Dylan !! All of 24 today. I hope the Sabres keep you long enough to hit your prime along with many others. See you in 5 years when the Sabres are most likely to be in a position to seriously challenge for a cusp, if not an actual cup. Hey, oh @Stoner

Well deserved. Of course he and the rest of the Bills would rather be playing tomorrow. There is still a reasonably good chance that the Bills tomorrow will come sooner rather than later. They are extremely close.

Bob would have turned 80 today. Hard to believe he flew away home in 1981. I was 16 years old when he passed. I am 60 now. He turned 20 a few months after I was born. This is crazy when you think about it.

Don't trade the good players we have, unless it's for an equally good player at a position of need. I would trade whatever number 1 we end up with for a good 2nd line forward. Package it with other stuff to get a very good 1st / 2nd line forward. And don't lottery protect it.

Neither should be traded. You can never have enough NHL caliber D on your roster.
