I understand what you are saying. And I agree that we do need to know if his hockey style played a role. My point was addressing the debate in this thread between the two points that drugs and lifestyle played a bigger role than a history of head trauma and vise versa. In that sense it does not matter to me.

My comment was not player based. More a general observation. Sure, study player deaths. We need to be better at recognizing issues that people are dealing with and helping them deal with them. A good friend took his life at 18. We were in High School - set to graduate in the spring. None of us recognized the signs. It shakes me to this day. 40+ years later.

A young man dies by suicide. Does it really matter the underlying issues that lead to him taking his life? Not to me. We as a society need to do better. RIP.

I agree. I never said it was KA deciding to call up Levi. I did say that this situation is KA admitting, without saying or doing anything, to the fans, the coach and himself that his Comrie signing was a mistake.

All good points. KA has admitted a mistake on his part in signing Comrie, who by all accounts is a great guy. He has racalled a rockie instead of a vet with the playoff chances dangling by a thread. He trusts Levi more, which is the only logical way to think. It's a preasure cooker for Levi to be thrust into a literal must win game - no matter when he plays. I am guessing he will get Vancouver. It's a chance for him to shine and could be a motivator for the whole team. On the other hand, it could all just as easily blow up in their collective faces.

He's got the next game. Hope he runs with the opportunity.

There is no excuse for not running whoever touches your goalie. Everytime. Anyone on the ice has to do it. It's code in the NHL. You touch my goalie and you are decked. Every team in the NHL knows that the Sabres do nothing atoll.
