Great guy on and off the ice. A true family man. Nothing else really matters. I am a fan of his and wish him well in his life after being a player. I agree with @Weave that is is likely the last few games of his career. He will either finish as a Sabre or he will be given a chance at the cup. He will help a team in that regard.

I would rather keep DG at this point. I don't think coaching is the biggest issue right now. @Eleven has always said it is about the roster. I agree with him. It's always about the roster. The Devils GM has not done enough and they have had some key injuries - the coach is the scapegoat and is fired. KA has not done enough and the Sabres have had some injuries and the team decided to change focus on the defencive side of the game. It has taken a while, but things are starting to come together. DG is not the problem. Some of his assistant coaches are not good enough. Bring in Ruff if they want, but not as HC.

Post of the month for this part alone. I'm not convinced about the rest of it, but I'd be willing to give Ruff a job with the Sabres - can hockey teams have a 'bench boss' like in MLB ?

I think the message is designed to be seen by the other Sabres on the ice and bench. I don't believe for a second that the other players did not see it or at least were told about it.

Hence my 'well maybe not better yet'. Yup - no Sabre GM named Ruff.

I want players that would have decked that punk for that slash.

More and more each game. He is earning a fat contract. Not the standard 7 x $7M contract though. I still say 5 x $5M, maybe 5 x $4.5M.
