I liked it so much better than Into Darkness. (Into Darkness is one of the worst movies I've ever seen) I love the cast so much. Except for Chris Pine, who is the most boring piece of wonderbread. Karl Urban and Zach Quinto are both so good. It's fun to watch them buddy cop. Simon Pegg wrote himself a hot alien girlfriend. I guess he was sick of all the Scotty is gay jokes.

How does that work?

We all know you made up Matt Anderson in the fourth grade, Randall. Now you're dating an imaginary person's imaginary cousin. Come on man. Get your together.

I think the most noticeable thing about Suicide Squad is how irreparably they ###### up the "introducing the team" part of the movie. This is a well known movie formula that everyone has seen dozens of times. I think of Ocean's Eleven as the golden standard for executing this formula. Suicide Squad showed in the beginning that many of the members get into fights with the obviously villainous security guys whenever they get the chance. Then they peppered the movie with badly timed flashbacks until there's literally a scene where all the characters sit in a bar and trade explanations of their backstories/motivations. Harley Quinn was the only even kind of fun character, and was cheapened by the joker being in this movie. I don't know why the joker was in this movie at all. Not only was Jared Leto boring, the joker didn't actually do anything except fire a gun and laugh.

Suicide Squad was bad. Like, the film makers don't know how to make films bad. A stupid, racist mess from top to bottom. On the other hand, Nerve was really good. It's about teenagers, and features Dave Franko (who doesn't really act so much as be dumb and cute (be himself?)), but it's easily one of the best movies of the Summer. It has something to say about content over the internet and the messed up way a lot of kids view their relationship to the content and content creators. I know we're all millenials, but this really feels aimed at the kids that are 3+ years younger than me. Emma Roberts was really good, and the movie has really cool colors.

I pee sitting down. Not because of the relief it brings my joints, but because I WANT TO.

Woke up at 1 pm. I've been sleeping in the basement lately, which used to be my gramma's domain. It's so chilly down there, I love it. All I've done today is walk through a graveyard playing with a camcorder. Now I'm meeting my girlfriend for her lunch break. Unemployed life is the bomb.

Drouin. I had hoped for a trade when he was in the dog house, but that damn Yzerman is too smart.

Ohhhh. The first episode of The Night Of is amazing. I, too, can't wait for episode two.
