The new RHCP album had 1 neat bass part. So that's one kinda cool song on the entire thing, up from 0 on their last studio album.

I'm downgrading my initial opinion of Independence Day Resurgence to terribad. It really feels like I've seen the movie 100 times before.

The Lobster seems to be quite a polzarizing film. I've heard from people that loved the heck out of it (like myself) it and people that walked out of it (like you would have if you didn't go with your lady). I loved the metaphorical examination of the societal pressures of being single and being in a relationship. It was mostly examining absolute extremes, though, so I can understand being turned off by that. Also, the acting was stylistically bad. I was really craving some normal human interactions afterwards. It was almost as much of an ordeal film as the Revenant. And like all European arthouse films, I guess we gotta have some violent animal abuse.

If being The Guy is more important than playing with other studs then Detroit is the right pick. Seems like best chance at a cup should be top priority, but I'm not Stamkos.

If Stamkos goes to Detroit, he's a dummy. Original Six and proven winning record don't mean compared to what's on the current roster and who's in the stable.

The Lobster is quite an amazing film. Such an interesting look on how most relationships are people trying to put band-aids on problems that are entirely within their own heads.

Even if we spend 2.5 on Foligno we can still trade him. Our cap number can change big time overnight with trades. It's not an issue right now, so I don't understand being concerned with Foligno's cap hit.

He's nothing special, but he's a solid 3rd line banger. I'm hoping that his consistency issues are behing him, but if they aren't he'll still have value in a trade. Bailey isn't even a NHLer yet. Just a prospect with promise.

I don't think Bailey is anywhere near the player that Foligno is. Foligno is a good physical presence, a punishing hitter, solid in his own end, and is a better scorer at the NHL level. Right now, Bailey is just faster. While I think it's likely that Bailey grows into a better player than Foligno, he's not even close right now.

If he turns into Larsson, I'll be happy with this pick. If he turns into Dudacek's proposed ceiling I'll be ecstatic.

Ben-Hur is such a disaster. Nobody wants to sit through a four hour movie. It's also amazing in some ways, but also a disaster. But also amazing.

It's more like getting Stamkos for free and trading Reinhart for a great D-man. But having Samson and Eichel both under control for many years is still what I really want. And maybe what I want more than Stamkos. I've been kind of accepting in my brain that he's not coming here and it's not worrying at all. Having Nylander and probably Vesey is still a good offseason haul.

I've been pretty all in on Stamkos. Learning that he is "a center and only a center" really disappoints me. I guess we move Reinhart for a stud D-man? That'd still make our team a lot better, but it'd be so hard to give up Samson.
