How can you complain about TM not making the team better now yet? In two weeks, sure. As for Nylander, you're right that his competition will get better, but so will he. What I was impressed by is that the puck moves independently from his feet. So many of his moves were tricksy cerebral dekes, not pure hands or speed. It's a pretty safe bet that he's going to make some NHL Dmen and goalies look stupid. Whether it will be scoring 15 a year or 35 remains to be seen.

I don't know much about Kulikov. Anyone care to fill me in and enable my laziness? I think Pysyk will only ever be a decent/good 3rd pairing guy with the ability to play spot duty on the 2nd. I had high hopes for him to be a legit 2nd pairing guy before this season, but he wasn't anything special. He's smart, smooth, and has a nice first pass; but he doesn't assert himself anywhere near enough on either side of the ice. I could be wrong, but I don't think he'll ever be a difference maker. Not a bad pick for a #21/#22 overall, but definitely not good enough to mitigate how pathetic all the rest of Darcy's picks were around that time.

I think Nylander develops for 2 years before becoming a regular. 1 year in juniors and 1 in the AHL, or 2 years in the AHL. In his second season he can get regular call-up duty and join us for our playoff run once Rochester is out.

It's not like keeping Shattenkirk on tbe roster would be a bad thing for them. I'm not surprised Armstrong is slow-playing this, Shatty is the best D-man on the market.

From what I've seen Nylander seems like a much more deliberate and in control player who's way better at playmaking than Max was. He's not even close to Max's speed, though.

I saw the new Independance Day last night. It was fun, but it was a typical blockbuster that didn't try anything new whatsoever. I know that big Summer movies aren't going to re-invent the nuclear bomb, but I'd like it if they set off a single solitary firework. Every action setpiece felt like something I'd seen again and again, over and over in other action films. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, though, so if you loved the first one, you'll probably love this one. Some more specific issues that aren't necessarily spoilers, but they're not the type of thing I would want to go into a movie thinking about (nitpicking ahead): Biggest problem for me: the guy playing Will Smith's son was no Will Smith, not even close. In other cinematic news, I'm seeing Ben Hur in a theater tonight. I'm so freakin' hype to see the chariot race scene on the big screen. I just recently read the wikipedia article on the production of Ben Hur (which has a seperate page from the movie itself) and it is a miracle this movie was ever made. For TV: I've been loving Brooklyn Nine-Nine lately. It's everything that the office is not when it comes to network shows.

I like a lot of old U2 (my favorite by them song is "Elevation"). But they got verrry boring. And Bono is an excellent person. But he's still a massive tool with a big ego, so blast away.

Except leaving the EU isn't going to help the average people in the UK at all. In the short term, it's going to put even more pain on the working class. Because the experts were all predicting a successful leave vote would harm the economy, the stock markets were always going to take a hit (after a successful leave vote) no matter what. I'm not confident that Britain is going to rebound at all, because the leave campaign had no plan whatsoever. One can be pro-brexit without being a racist or xenophobe, but lets not pretend that it wasn't the driving force behind the vote.
