  1. and the winner is...nashville by a mile. Duschene will have problems duplicating Turris' numbers with Ottawa while Colordao now has a bunch of whatevers to show for O'Reilly and Duschene while nashville adds a dynamic and very good center in Turris. I thought Nashville would win the Cup last year and now think this has to be their year!
  2. I fear and dread Botto will hang onto Kane then we lose him to UFA next summer and get absolutely nothing for him like we did with both drury and Biere. Losing those two and getting nothing back still haunts this team. Imagine the return we could have got for those two at the trade deadline. We absolutely must either resign or trade Kane. Trading him will leave this lineup with a huge hole to fill but we should be able to get a good return. I prefer signing but that maybe not doable nor may kane wish to sign here (kinda couldn;t blame him if he didn't)...
  3. done some research and apparently if Moulson cleared waivers (as he would of course) then we could send him to the AHL and his salary would NOT count against the Sabres' cap...freeing up his salary alone would enable Kane to be signed
  4. if London's season ends before thew Amerks then Pu would no doubt play the remaining games with the A's this season then play next year with them for sure
  5. whatever...they lost and looked absolutely lousy doing i and that is all that matters. The refs don't lose this team games. they do it all by themselves (and are very good at losing games I might add)
  6. Montreal is so bad that...they actually gave up not one but TWO goals to Grant! If it wasn;t for the fact that the Habs played us for their only win they probably would be 0-for he season right now. Strange...
  7. Last summer I suggested that a) maybe it is time to visit thoughts of trading O'Reilly to free up massive cap space. and b) that either trading or signing kane is he most important issue with his club. I still think both of these are valid thoughts but also think that what we do with Sam is very important too.he is far too young to ruin by not showing any confidence or hope in him and devalue him to a point where even he himself starts to doubt himself. Confidence plays such a big part in any player's career. Look at guys like McDavid, Kane (both of them), Mathews etc...hey play with a chip on their shoulder and are very confident to he point of almost arrogance.
  8. maybe we can get Tyler Ennis back in a trade or something...he had two goals which we could have used tonight
  9. well said and unfortunately he has a point that merits serious consideration. I have felt while Jack is as good as we have and may get for a while, he is nowhere close to McDavid and/or Mathews and I was kinda amazed at the contract. he is getting a contract based on what they hope he will do and not what he has done thus far, which while his scope of work has not been too bad, it certainly has no been great. he is not the kind of guy who can take the team on his shoulders and win basically by himself (or he would have done so by now). in the end, we seem to be asking the same old tired questions and making the same old tired opinions we made most of last year...in fact at this point we looked better last year. Now that is scary...
  10. Carolina are a good young team too, and any thoughts of us making the playoffs (haha) rested on being ahead of these2 teams and that isn;t going to happen, Mind you, Boston is just as bad as us and Montreal would be 0-for if they hadn;t played us.
  11. 82 points when it don't matter...late in game when the score is 6-1. He will be paid to lead by example, and if that is leading by example, then it's no wonder we are 0-3. Jack looks like everyone else out there except anyone named Evander...lost, uninspired and just putting in time to get their big pay cheques. heck if we didn;t have that Evander guy, I can;t even imagine how bad this teamwould be right now. he's the only thing worth watching thus far
  12. I absolutely believe that while missing out on the dynamic duo of McNugget and Mathews missing out on Babs was by far the biggest downfall of this team (mind you even detroit is now 2-0 and look good while we look, well, the same old tired crew)
  13. the more things change the more they stay the same...I can't even bother to watch anymore...all new staffing and lots of new players and they look exactly like they did last year...sloppy disorganized blah blah blah
  14. either way, no matter what we think about Kane, he is by far the most important item on the agenda now. We MUST sign him or trade him...please Dr. JBotto don't hang to him til the end of the season and let him walk for nothing (like we did with both Briere and Drury which still angers me to this day)
  15. To dream per chance...McDavid and Mathews on the same team with Babs coaching...we'd be pretty-much a lock for a Stanley thingee that seems to allude us every year
  16. obviously you do not make this guy the face of the franchise and pay him 80 mill when he really hasn't even done anything yet (compared to McDavid and Mathews who both led their teams to the playoffs) and not name him captain. you have to, and Jack has to try to live up to the pressure of being paid huge money for what they hope he will do, not what he has done. i sure hope he can lead this team into the playoffs but we'll have to wait and see. I am maybe about 50/50 they can make the playoffs. There are a pile of other teams that look good too so it should not be easy...
  17. Looks like the leafs and the Oilers for the cup...if only we had got that coach the Leafs got (whatever his name is...)
  18. This is exactly right on...Pittsburg got tired of everyone taking liberties with Cindy and obviously GMJBotto is doing the same thing here for jack etc...you do not want Kane going off like last night with a worthless goon...and we play those teams frequently so better have someone who can fight but play too like Nolan then Evander doing it
  19. Yikes that sure is negative! I actually think this may be better year then we think (and I really hope lehner is a #1 cause we need that badly). After such a bad year last season most every player is due to improve. The leafs had just about everybody play over their heads and got crazy stuff out of their roster and maybe for once we can actually have players excel and play well under Howie
  20. NJ are so awful that he will be their best d-man...we are suddenly blessed with a wealth of good defensemen so it probably was his best move...truth is we do not need him at this point...Guhle is way ahead of this guy in terms of talent and potential
  21. Sadly it is true Bryan Murray, the long-time general manager of the Ottawa Senators, has passed away at age 74. Murray had a 620-465-131-23 record as an NHL head coach, having led the Capitals, Red Wings, Panthers, Ducks, and Senators in a 27-year coaching career. He announced on Nov. 13, 2014 that he had Stage 4 colon cancer. “Bryan was one of the greatest men that the game of hockey has ever known and also a great father, mentor and teacher,” said Senators owner Eugene Melnyk in a release. “We extend our sincere condolences to his wife, Geri, daughters, Heide and Brittany and the entire Murray family on their loss.” http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/former-senators-gm-coach-bryan-murray-dead-74/
  22. Guy had 31 goals last season, which is pretty impressive. I am worried because he made a huge jump in production and it seems a little quick top sign him to this kind of deal but most see this as a value signing. Wish we could get kane at this but he will want at least a mil more...
  23. how the heck does Tampa keep under the cap? They sure have handed out some big contracts...
