  1. hope you don;t mind the bad language but this is funny...and true in just about every point made
  2. much rather see Fasching out there..he is young and a very big part of our future. No offense to Nolan but we don;t need him or his muscle. we need the young guys that are future playing like Fasching
  3. looks like sometimes the best trades are the one you don't make, as in Turris for Duchene. I still cannot figure out how Murray has kept his job inOttawa. he has made some real bad moves. Nashvlle must still be laughing...
  4. I've already gone on record as saying that Johnny T is a amazing player and the biggest thing about him is how he makes whoever he plays with so much better. he has made Moulson, okposo and now Lee look like superstars. As soon as you take them away from Johnny T, they suck. It says something when jack needs quality around him to be any good, when Travares makes whoever into quality wingers. Having said that, there is no hope in hack he'd wanna come to this mess. Guess we can dream...
  5. this is very funny...thank God for Geico and their great ads...
  6. maybe JBotto could trade Moulson and Bogo for those two girls...now that I would go to the arena to see (unlike this team)
  7. i am just suspicious of why jack and Risto and whoever else is suddenly so bad and seemingly don;t care. I was expecting all this enthusiasm and was hoping to see a more exciting team but they are actually worse then last season. That is really hard to believe
  8. Not sure what you mean about ERod...he was called up at 9:29 this morning from Rochester
  9. Just saw where the team called up ERod...guess the new addition Wilson goes to the Amerks
  10. I absolutely love Johnny T and would love to get him. he has made Moulson and Okposo both look a million times better then they were and now is making some guy by the name of Lee look great. I do think though that he'll want to go to a winner and a team with a shot at a cup which kinda rules us out...
  11. I actually find it hard to believe that this team can be this bad. They were actually better under you-know-who (those two who ran the club last season). I find it hard to believe that jack can play this bad and uninspired. Could it be that JBotto has quietly decided that the one thing this team needs badly is that stud defenceman (kinda like that guy who'll go first overall next summer). Keep in mind here, Pittsburg totally tanked and got those guys that kinda helped them win all those cups. It is easier to tank then to find and actually get one of those jewels on the blueline in a trade. No one is trading he kind of defenceman this team needs. Clearly he is going to be number one next summer. Maybe JBotto actually thinks we can actually win a draft lottery (haha as if the NHL would ever let us win one). So, do you really think or believe they are this bad? Or are they actually tanking without anyone knowing it? I vote for #2...think JBotto has told the team to do all they can to ensure we get a shot at Dahlen. This kid looks like the next big thing on defence and the odds say that the Sabres have to win a lottery sooner or later. he would change the entire structure of this team overnight. If they are tanking, good for them, If they are really this bad, they need to fold and buy the Carolina franchise...
  12. true...maybe he just thinks "who cares now I 've got this big contract"...not sure why but jack is the exact picture of what is wrong with his club now...no heart, motivation nor drive to succeed...it's both sad but even stranger why every player that comes here can't seem to perform or excel. Every other team gets players playing way over their heads...not this team, not even close
  13. I really think that toughness is more mental then physical...we do not need fighters. Nolan loves to fight does he not? hard to find takers these days. and who cares? This team is soft mentally and physically from a push comes to shove aspect where they just get pushed off the puck and their defence offers no physical presence whatsoever. And jack is at the top of the weak and uninterested. he looks like a guy who is thinking...I gotta stay healthy this year so I can get to my 10-mill a year contract I sucked this team into...that will put him in the top ten (maybe top 5?) players in earnings for his lackluster play? Yikes...
  14. still thinking we needed babs or some SOB like Mike Keenan who wouldn't put up with this crap for a moment. Clearly being nice with this group just isn't the answer. The good old country club mentality continues to thrive and it shows no sign of going away any time soon. hard to think that this team may actually be worse then the tank team when they were actually trying to be bad...this team was suppose to be much improved. STRANGE...
  15. very likely I fear, especially cause without Kane we will really be bad and jack will really pout
  16. interesting point...could be kane is a bad influence (or at least perceived to be) on jack and/or Sam. I also think there seems to be a new thought process whereby managers are more open and likely to make the big deal before, and in some cases way before the trade deadline. Also a good point made earlier is the fact that waiting opens the door for the very scary possibility that kane gets hurt then we are up the creek with a paddle. Not like this team is going anywhere (maybe down) so get it over with. sucks we can't keep him but this is without a doubt the defining moment for JBotto...if he screws up this trade...well
  17. Now Montreal has Price back, they are suddenly a contender again. Kinda tells us where the Sabres are with at best average goaltending. We need a bonafide Number One guy, whoever that may be (not convinced it's lehner). New jersey sure is, like Tom Cruise, making all the right moves...
  18. New Jersey sure is building a nice team over there...anyways with Ullmark called up obviously a goaltender is going to be included in any deal. While people on here and other sites go on and on about how we should keep kane and trade all our terrible big contracts such as Moulson and Bogosian, the truth no doubt is kane wants to go to a contender (don't blame him) and no one wants these other guys or their terrible contracts. Even Okposo is lost without Johnny T over on the Island (who has made both Moulson and Okposo look great and is doing the same thing with lee now). In the end, we might as well go young cause this sure ain't working right now, which concerns me because guys like OReilly and okposo are supposedly in their prime and if we are going young then they will be done by th etime the young players are ready to hopefully excel. kinda makes one think we should try and clear house and start over. Still not sold on Jack either (he is good but we need a stud to build around, not a guy who pouts every game)...
  19. so now that Price has returned the Habs are suddenly great again! kinda shows that to win in the NHL now you have to have not even good but GREAT goaltending. If one is to check out the winners on most nights I think you'll find that they got great goaltending from somebody making often 30 to 40 saves. I have to admit while I kinda like Lehner I do think that he'll never be great...good sure, which may win us some games here and there but good just isn;'t good enough.Of course the team needs improvement in every area but goaltending may become our biggest weakness...
  20. With this team one point out of last place overall I got to thinking I have not heard about too many players in the upcoming 2018 draft. Is there anybody that stands out that may help this team? Some might say this team is beyond help right now but nevertheless surely someone in the draft gives some reason or cause to celebrate our dreadful play and position in the standings ...apparently it's the year for defensemen... 1) Rasmus Dahlin (LHD, Sweden, Frolunda SHL) 2) Andrei Svechnikov (RW, Russia, Barrie OHL) 3) Adam Boqvist (RHD, Sweden, Brynas J20) 4) Brady Tkachuk (C/LW, USA, Boston University NCAA) 5) Filip Zadina (LW/RW, Czech Republic, Halifax QMJHL) 6) Joe Veleno (C, Canada, Saint John QMJHL) 7) Quinn Hughes (LHD, USA, NTDP U18) 8) Ryan Merkley (RHD, Canada, Guelph OHL) 9) Ty Smith (LHD, Canada, Spokane WHL) 10) Rasmus Kupari (C, Finland, Karpat Jr.) 11) Jesperi Kotkaniemi (C, Finland, Assat Liiga) 12) Bode Wilde (RHD, USA, NTDP U18) 13) Ryan McLeod (C, Canada, Mississauga OHL) 14) Barrett Hayton (C, Canada, Sault Ste. Marie OHL) 15) Jared McIsaac (LHD, Canada, Halifax QMJHL) 16) Oliver Wahlstrom (C/W, USA, NTDP U18) 17) Joel Farabee (LW, USA, NTDP U18) 18) Alexander Khovanov (C, Russia, Moncton QMJHL) 19) Vitali Kravtsov (C/W Russia, Belye Medvedi MHL)
  21. over in the "trade Jack" posting I stated we should trade him for John Tavares becuase he (Tavares) makes anyone he plays with look great, as in Moulson and Okposo. Jack, on the otherhand, needs great linemates to look good. Two totally different players, and I think tavares is amazing at making linemates look far better then they are. I also think leino was made to look better when playing with Phiily's top center Giroux. he (Giroux) also makes other players look better.
  22. Tavares has many great years left, and I also think they would get more then just him in a deal, like one of the islanders good young d-man. And yes Tavares makes any linemate better and that is something this team needs badly
  23. maybe we could trade jack for Tavares over on the Island. I think it is pretty evident that while he Sabres are giving jack a contract based on what he may or may not do at some point down the road (not doing too much now), Tavares continues to carry a team on his shoulders and make marginal players a million times better by playing on his line (see Matt Moulson and Kyle Okposo). jack needs highly skilled linemates to be effective whereas Tavares can make just about anyone look good. we have the two slugs to prove it...
