Of course that's the case. But if the Bandits and Bills were not good things would change. There's also a different dynamic where Bills fans only have a handful of games to attend in any given year so it becomes more of an event. But the point is that viewing percentage can lead to incorrect analysis of actual value given that the number of actual people showing interest by watching is lower. It does if it's not weighted when they do it in aggregate. Of course this is the kind of stuff that gets done by marketing, etc. to spin a narrative. They could be. I don't know them. I'm not talking football either. I am not saying the NHL should not care about Buffalo. I am merely saying that viewing percentages can demonstrate the relative interest to the population in any given market but that it cannot be used to compare market to market as the actual numbers can vary widely. Yes, Southern Ontario is likely not included in these numbers but it does not matter when measuring nationally televised, non-Buffalo Sabres events. In this case we are talking about a hockey event that did not include the team in the market. As such it's reasonable to assume some percentage (likely a high percentage) would have watched those games whether the Sabres were in Buffalo or not. The statistic in question was not a measurement of viewership of Buffalo Sabres games. It was a measure of interest in a nationally televised game. It stands to reason that the Florida markets were at the top as their team was in the game. It's a testament to Buffalo that so many are interested in the games. However, percentages don't translate directly to spend. Actual people spend actual dollars. If you use just a percentage then you could have a town of 100 people who all love hockey and tuned in. Do you think the NHL cares about those 100 people just because their viewership was 100%?

Cross-data source aggregators... Gotta love them.

LISTEN UP.. I'm only saying this once. Stop calling each other names. It's childish. There will not be a warning, you will be removed from the forum. There's no need to call someone an idiot, clown, pedo-lover, etc. Just cut the crap. Stop calling people pedo supporters, etc. Stick to the known, undisputable, facts about topics related to Epstein. But keep in mind, there are Republicans AND Democrats linked to him. No one is safe from that linkage. Using highly incendiary topics such as pedophilia require a high level of responsibility to go with it. Raise the level of discussion or stop discussing it here.

Yeah, the yeast and locking in fermentation temps makes a big difference. However, if you brew long enough you get a sense of what it will taste like. Now, if you are not paranoid about sanitizing then you really are in for the unexpected. I was more concerned about sanitizing surfaces than I was measuring anything or timing, etc. It was a small price to pay to make sure I didn't completely waste money and time. All hoses, connectors, etc. sat in a bucket of sanitizer. All work was performed on a stainless steel table that was sanitized. Never had an infected batch.. whew. The times I wish I brew now are for times when I get a hankering for something brewers just don't make. Things like Juniper Wit Beer, Baltic Porter, Foreign Extra Stout, coconut IPA, etc. Until the past year I might have thrown west coast IPA into that list but thankfully places around here are making those again... it was only a matter of time before someone decided 72 hazy IPAs didn't provide enough differentiation to matter. Hell, Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye has a Grodziskie on tap. That's something you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere. So I've been down there a bit more often than usual because it's an incredible style. Abandon has a Peppercorn Saison on tap.. that belongs in my list above as well. Saisons, really good ones, are too hard to find and Peppercorn Saison is amazing for summer. I brought a 4 pack home after visiting.. because driving an hour to get the beer on tap really doesn't make financial sense. 🙂

These ratings are percentages right? And that matters since the league makes money on people, not on percentages. not scientifically gathering population to make sure all sources are the same and I am rounding but: Buffalo - 1.125M = 61K viewers Pittsburgh - 2.457M = 103K viewers Las Vegas - 80.5K viewers Detroit - 4.3M = 148K viewers Minneapolis - 3.75M = 124K viewers Boston - 4.9M = 162K viewers Denver - 3.05M = 94.5K viewers In the end, Buffalo is the lowest in that list to actual people who spend actual money. It's good to know that Buffalo has a strong percentage of hockey fans but in the end, it's a small market with a lower amount of wallets to be opened. Now, factor into all of that the cost of living in each of those locations and the amount spent on "entertainment" and that's what REALLY matters. Not sure how high Buffalo ranks.

Sorry, I was really not intending my post as a criticism but more of an observation and certainly not meant to get you to respond like that. It's all good with me if you used a thread to post your own collection of thoughts. It's all good with me if you respond in multiple threads. I accept the difference you were referencing. I just was finding it interesting that the club is littered with Trump examples so I thought maybe there would be more discussion in here simply on the older platforms that differ so much from today. In any event.. not a big deal and sorry if you took my post as a critique of your posting or your message, it wasn't meant to incite.

And at that point in time the gossip around the league was that Jon Cooper was on the hot seat.. hah!

My story is much like Weave's. I started with buckets in my townhouse about 25 years ago. Gradually worked my way up to a 30 gallon stainless, propane system with a 15G conical. Had the conical on a stand in a freezer with a temp control that would either kick in the freezer or engage an electric heat wrap as needed. Buddy and I went our separate ways and I assembled another 20G system at my house. I don't have the conical. It has sat there for years because I just don't have the time and frankly there is beer everywhere now and I can find something to drink. I still have a 3-4 tap kegerator sitting here as well but nothing in it. I'm trying to sell all of it.. not sure I will ever go back to brewing and if I did I would convert to electric. Either I'd drill into the stainless and put in heating that way or use conduction but on 30G that's a tough call. I brewed a ton of beer, enjoyed the hell out of it. Gave a ton away. Toyed with jumping into the brew business but couldn't take the financial risk at the time. I had some of the top brewers in the area giving my beer compliments so I felt like I was doing okay (they weren't just being nice, they would critique and did on some less good batches). It's a great hobby and I still sometimes wish I had the desire to do it more just so I can make some things you never find but the time and desire just isn't there any more. Yup. not even a road trip for me. 🙂 Well, a little one I suppose. -
Well, one thing to consider is that SLC and surrounding areas are becoming Silicon Valley East... there are a ton of tech firms popping up there and companies moving HQ or major offices out of Silicon Valley. Naturally as those companies are coming in they are putting significant pressure on the government to enact more favorable policies. Speaking to a few people there things have really opened up over the past 3 years or so and it looks like its only going to continue.

This is a complaint? Interesting. 🙂 Is this the most "foreign" post ever on this forum? At least one that used "English"? --- Still working on the status of my van... gotta find a new insurance company. Not sure any will be better but over the past few years Allstate seems to have really gone down hill. There are other reasons not to like them as well.
-
Well... you've been accurate in other posts. But I dare not hope you are right because hope isn't a strategy. 🙂
-
Well, they heard Zucker say hope isn't a strategy. So if there's no hope, then all that's left is a real strategy? the front office is brilliant!

Not sure sure about SLC as I was immediately driving out of it to Provo, but the airport is nice. They have street pricing there which means all the stores use the same prices as they do at their normal street restaurants.. thought that was cool. Well, if you live outside SLC there are some really nice areas and the mountains are really nice. Not sure if it's not an upgrade.. it's missing football but it has basketball.. and the Olympics are going to be there again in 2034.

And perhaps this is their thinking? If Buffalo fans won't come then let's entice them to sell to other teams' fans who will! And I liked the wing thing. I'm not blown away and I think schedule release crap is over rated anyway.. but there was some cleverness in there.
-
Indeed. I'm not saying to hide it. I'm just saying that's how our world works. There is a cabal of power brokers who steer much of the world events. No chance in hell we'll ever see that list.

You are misconstruing the knowledge of a list of names with the actuality of the list itself and what actions those people on the list were involved with. What we know is that Epstein was involved in all kinds of illegal activities, including trafficking of minors, etc. What we know is that Trump had involvement with Epstein, so did Bill Gates, so did Bill Clinton, and so on. What we know is that someone has claimed that Trump was really big on power moves and screwing other people's wives along with many other indecent and deplorable ways to treat women. What we DO NOT KNOW is that Trump engaged in pedophilia. What we are reasonably positive of is that there is a list of names and potentially other information. Without that evidence making such claims is irresponsible. You can BELIEVE what you want, but I've never read anywhere of the insinuation that Trump was involved in pedophilia and I'm not going to allow that statement to be made as though it's fact. I am sure that list has a lot of really influential people on it. That's the kind of list that will never be published. It's an indictment on the kind of society we have in the United States (albeit the power matrices go well beyond the US borders). Underneath all of this is the fact that we are dealing with a group of individuals who routinely say anything that comes to mind and then forgets they ever said it. Do I put any credence into what Pam Bondi says? Hell no. Just like I don't listen to most of what anyone in this administration says because it's 99.8% hot air. The US has the reality show it always wanted, in the White House. Not a surprise from a country whose citizens pay more attention to the Kardashians and "Real" Housewives of anywhere than they do their local, state, and national politics.

Matthew Fairburn Latest Article regarding Terry Pegula and Adams

I've met my fair share of athletes. I had one run in with Andrew Peters and it's easily the most obnoxious and inconsiderate run-in I had ever had. He's a buffoon who is hanging on to whatever money he can scrabble from his brief moments in professional hockey. Not a chance in hell I would ever willingly choose to be in the same room with him again.
