I'd be pissed too if I was Beaulieu Scandella really does not bring anything to the team this year and should have been in the press box numerous times. I would certainly give it a shot. I'm not saying Beaulieu has been amazing either, but certainly not much worse than Scandella.

I dunno, I get drunk with my co-workers and I'm pretty sure I've never even encroached on any level of harassment (other than my presence). It's interesting that I am seeing this right after reading an article about the head of Michigan State resigning after submitting a quote to the news that the victims of Larry Nassar are "still enjoying the spotlight". I hate to stereotype, but it seems that if you are an older white dude, you have a heightened probability of also being a disrespectful and distasteful jackhole. How much of this is because of Kim Pegula's level of influence inside the organization? If she we weren't holding positions of power and showcasing herself as a more than capable executive I wonder if it would have been more likely to swing the other way. It's obviously a good thing that it's not. Jackholes like this need to get out of the corporate world and go spend time on their cozy private club golf courses until their end of days. I'm tired of hearing about it and (because I am a white, slightly less younger than them dude) being somewhat associated with them.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

Yeah... so he's an idiot. No lawsuit against any fast food place has brought them down yet. And there have been plenty. -

Yeah........... The ratio of articles I've ever seen implicating someone for spitting or worse in food definitely leans towards the fast food end of the spectrum. Not saying you are wrong in your suggestion, just that he's really (no really) an idiot if that's what he thinks. -

Jbot Do Something Already - 4 Saving the Playoffs Edition
LTS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
It's not that a deal should be made. It's really more about what kind of deal should be made. Some are more drastic than others. I think every GM is always willing to make a deal... it just has to be a deal that fits. I bet Botterill could trade away almost any player right now, but it doesn't mean it helps the team. -
The savior coach is a myth. It's what people hang on to instead of facing reality. The team needs more talent. It will get more talent. I don't mind Phil as a coach. I guess I have more faith than others. I don't need a blowhard. The team has improved this year and I don't think that's just because of the players. I see the same players making better passes and executing the game plan better than they did last year. I don't put that on the GM.

Failing the team implies that the team is not achieving the goals that were set for it. Keep in mind, their goals are not the same as your goals. You may have wanted the Sabres to be that playoff contender. You may have felt even more strongly about it after a 10 game winning streak. The Sabres were not set to be that team this year and I find nothing wrong with the current trajectory. The team was always setup to be taking the playoff step next year. This year belongs to the Leafs/Lightning/Bruins. Next year the Leafs have many questions about how to keep the roster together. Next year the Lightning have to figure out how to keep their roster together. The Bruins are old. The Sabres will be putting a few more younger players and perhaps find another top roster player like they did Skinner into the lineup. We know they still need depth and hopefully they'll have more of it next year. I think there will continue to be a philosophical difference between fans as to whether or not the right play is to trade players to try and make the playoffs this year versus establish the solid foundation for next year. The team is not a joke this year and has shown flashes of what it can be. It's not there yet, but trying to make it there this season isn't necessarily the right thing either. We'll go round and round on this I am sure. But until there is evidence that there are moves that could help this team both now and long term I am fine with what is happening. I am sure the players want to win, but I think they'd rather be winning for multiple seasons rather than win this year and then suddenly be back to losing because the team management reached too far.

Tweet was deleted? Actually Anaheim must have deleted the tweet and re-tweeted a new one. Devin Shore (Dallas) to Anaheim for Andrew Cogliano.

I saw that and looked at other examples. I really like the idea. Additionally, you are moving the puck low so any turnovers are less likely to lead to the opponent rushing down the ice because your D got caught trying to get the puck. I think the Sabres would do well to have that same setup and put Reinhart behind the net. Eichel and Risto the point people who can fire the one-timer and Skinner and <insert someone> to get inside the lower D to get rebounds. Beyond just the goaltender it forces the opponent to bring their high PK players back into the zone to prevent the 3 on 2 down low. This frees up the point for moving into better shooting positions. It also forces the D to continually turn to see where things are at.

HELL YEAH!

Botterill will set the market when he signs Skinner. Until then he's a potential UFA trade target and the market is going to act accordingly. Same with Bobbo and Breadman in CBJ.

Your thoughts on these proposed amendments...
LTS replied to Eleven's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
I agree with you for the most part. However improbable, it still feels like there is a level of possibility that won't go away. At some point within the next 10 years I suspect there will be a run for a political office that stems from some YouTube/Twitch star. I don't think that run will be a sham either. Now, one might argue that it could end up being a filtered choice put in place by the same powers you are referring to in an attempt to take over that medium as a means of disseminating their message and maintaining credibility and relativity. It's possible. The way in which we consume data is changing rapidly and I'm not entirely positive that the fossils in power have a full grasp on it. I'm not trying to say they won't figure it out. -
Is she represented by Strauss & Levi?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incident_(album) It's a two CD concept album. I saw them at Town Ballroom when they released this and did the full album. Unbelievable show. Steven Wilson is far and away my favorite musical talent, from what he creates to his influence on production with other bands, and his remixes he's done. He remixed a ton of Yes songs recently I don't think they ever sounded better.

Ahhh I see the difference now... I am sure the word has been around a long time, it was just not needed because you could say "I had someone sew me some pants". Olde English perhaps... ?

The entire team defers to Eichel for who carries the puck. I don't see a problem with Thompson here. The only time Eichel doesn't get the puck straight away is when he's heavily covered (and even then sometimes they try). The Sabres play their coverage to free Eichel up from coverage so he's the one to get a breakout pass most often. I'm not worried. Thompson has shown an ability to get into space. I'm sure he's a smart kid and will get there. If not, we'll sit him down and let him watch Brett Hull videos (all except one) on how to be a shooter over a puck carrier. My guess is we will see Thompson going to the net to tie up that area and free up room for Eichel and Skinner.

The word has been getting used more lately. I blame the Food Network. They've made it cool to use obscure words to sound fancy. Like making a gastrique or crostini. It's sauce and toast you jackholes. In some ways, isn't what Eleven said both redundant and repetitive ( ? )? If it's tailored, isn't it bespoke?

When you use the average hit rate on a pick it ignores the success rate of the GM/organization making the pick. The stupidity of one GM cancels out the genius of another. Is Botterill the idiot or the genius?

Let's Go Buffalo! Not much else to say as the fates have not determined if I will be able to see the game or not.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
LTS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Weave beat me to it. The growth in the use of the presidential order and many other factors tell me that we don't have 3 equal branches anymore. It may be possible for the three branches to maintain checks and balances as we were taught in grade school, but I don't think it really happens anymore.
