Is that the other ballet out of Canada?
-
There was a response here. I'm deleting it. If you read it.. then you did. I'm realizing I'm not in the best state of mind to be posting right now.

I think the team can be improved and still not be playing well. I think his moves have improved the team both now and for the future. This team CAN play better, but that's on the players right now. The coaches are coaching the right thing. The players have to believe in themselves again. They might have easily slipped back into the "Oh no, we suck again." mentality and are having a hard time getting out of it. It's like telling someone who suffers from depression, "Just cheer up!" It's not that easy.

We've all seen threads where someone jumps in just to crap on the thread and people respond "Don't come in here if you don't like it". Is it that unreasonable? There are threads on here that I'm not interested in jumping through. If there was an ignore feature it would be helpful. I figured I would ask. As for your initial response and my response. Given some of the antagonistic responses I've had from you in the past, the guard is always on. I'm also very edgy right now because of other things. So my apologies for missing your intention.

That Friedman note sounds like someone is playing the media in the negotiation. There's a lot you could read into that and even extrapolate on depending on how nuts you want to make yourself. For example: Has Skinner seen enough in the locker room to up the ante with the Sabres and begin leaking terms to the media? Perhaps force the hand of management. He was happy before, but now he's seeing what things are like and he might not like it. Then again, it might not be any of that. And yes, it would be wonderful if they could move Skinner at the deadline with knowledge that he only wants to come back to Buffalo in the summer. I'd love to be that optimistic.

Would you say that Tampa might Bork them with the rock?

So, if I don't suffer I am not a fan?

What an incredibly unhelpful response.

It will be interesting to see the impacts of this in the United States as well. There are a good portion of left leaning supporters who point to Trudeau as a poster child for what a leader can look and talk like. The play he got when he spoke about quantum computing was unbelievable. It pared straight up against Trump and his knuckle-dragging talking points. They won't have this golden child to trot out. It's good that these things come to light though. People need to be more invested in their leadership. It'll be some tough days for Canada, to be sure.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

I should add. NYS is a ----hole to do business with. This state will continue to shrink and while it does that it will continue to try and resolve the problem by taxing the rest of us to make up for the shortfall. You can't tax yourself to prosperity. I would have liked the Amazon HQ to be built in in NY overall, but not at $1.2B in tax breaks. It seems every time I hear about a company getting large tax incentives to bring their business into the area (the state), etc. It's usually followed by some garbage about how after a few years there were issues were not resolved. They pocketed money and there are far fewer to no jobs to show for it. Organic growth is what is needed. Many smaller to medium size businesses build a much stronger fabric than a single large fish. Granted, there are large fish, especially in NYC, but Amazon would be an extremely large fish and would hold a lot of sway over the state. After all, look how many cities put bids in to get Amazon to show up at their doorstep. Amazon could move its warehouse operations elsewhere with little pain and leave NYS high and dry. That would be the continual threat hanging over politicians heads. Imagine going into a negotiation and the Amazon people say, "Do you want to be the person who is responsible for 25k jobs disappearing overnight?". -
To be perfectly honest... and absolutely shallow? I like her name. I don't know much more about her. I've got enough depressing things going on in life that I don't find myself wanting to read political items right now. But, if she has a moral center... that's a start. I don't even care which side of the aisle a politician is on.. morality is something that escapes the vast majority of them.

Is there an ignore thread function? I don't like to ignore posters, but I would love to not have to click through these threads every day. Yes, I know i could go to the main listing, but using the next unread topic at the bottom is super convenient.

I agree. He's a seasoned front office hockey guy. I trust his opinion more. As I mentioned elsewhere, the public lives with years of failure, Botterill only has his history to live with and the team has been improving since he's taken over. Fans want a quick fix, but quick fixes don't happen all that often, especially when your best chance at a quick fix is being questioned about his dedication to the game without the puck and might be injured. I agree with him. Fans can choose to hate on it all they want, but it won't change anything. I'd rather just go with the flow and look for the improvement.

I hate Vegas. I've been there 3-4 times for conferences and hate going every time. The "high end" restaurants are mediocre at best. I don't gamble, period. The only thing I like about Vegas is watching the people. But that too begins to suck when you realize that what humanity has to offer.

The Bruins just screwed themselves and I am fine with that. Donato would have been a contributor for them in the next few years. Coyle gives them a chance to compete against Tampa and Toronto this year but it makes them an older team. This bodes well for the Sabres competition over the next few years. I like Coyle, but I would not have given Donato for him. Good job by Minnesota in my opinion.

We might have started drafting better. It doesn't happen overnight as you well know. The timeline before Botterill is only there for the fans to suffer. It's not Botterill's issue. Pegula only owns back to when he bought the team. Rookie owner making rookie mistakes, the fans choose to continue the suffering.

He's lived up to my expectations. Those are probably different than everyone else's though.

I don't think I agree with that sentiment. The expansion of the game globally has produced a larger and more disperse talent pool from which to pull players. The European game was barely a thing. We only think guys on the ice are less talented because some of the players that play now are insanely talented and perhaps even more so than some of the best players back then. Those top stars, in today's culture, might have proven to be just as good. We won't know. However, I do feel confident thinking that the talent levels in the NHL, and really the game overall, are much higher than they were back then.

Look a game. Remember when Stamkos and Hedman were what made Tampa go? Now they are just supporting pieces. Think about that when you think about the journey of the Sabres.

He said he lost it. That's different than what you had said. That's all. I'm not happy with the trade. I'd prefer to have a player of ROR's talent on the roster. That said, I'm not lamenting him being gone either. It was clear something was not right and I have faith that the people who are paid a lot of money to make it right knew enough about the situation to make a move. It might not be the move they wanted to make, but life is about decisions and what comes next. It's over. He's gone.

How many episodes of Hearts of Space will they need to play the full project? ?
