  1. My bench outscored my starters by 16 points and I have the highest points against by a wide margin. That is all.
  2. All of the presidents between Grant and McKinley are in a tie for worst ever, and the last 4 guys very closely resemble those administrations from politics to wage stagnation to economics to finance and on and on and on.
  3. I would love to see the AHL experiment with this. That would make for some crazy power plays.
  4. I got the impression that this was only on icing.
  5. There is absolutely no reason to believe that Terry Pegula won't move a home game to a neutral site nor that he will make decisions that are counter the best financial interest of the team and league to save the fans some money. He has done both with the Sabres.
  6. Makes sense. The resistance will only ebb when TOR and BUF are getting a big enough check to make it worth their while, and I'm not certain there is a big enough check to make it worth TP's while.
  7. It's a tough balance. I think it's important to remember the tragedy, the lives lost, the humanity, the heroes, the country coming together to help each other. I also think it's important to remember that we used to have a 4th amendment, we should remember that. We used to be a country that didn't torture, we should remember that, too. We used to view war as a last resort, something to start only rarely and stop as soon as possible. We used to have police who were focused on law and order, not espionage and armaments. All of these things are gone now, and they were killed on the same day as we lost those ~3,000 people. It's hard to bring that up, and I understand that they don't elicit the emotional response that the videos and memorials and names do, but to the rest of us, to the 300,000,000 Americans still here, they are just as, or more, important.
  8. It will be hard. Pearl Harbor Day would have meant something absolutely different in 1954 if we were still fighting WWII. It's 2014, and we're still fighting. It looks like we'll still be fighting in 2024. We are commemorating the day the world devolved into permanent war. Even without making a judgement on the necessity or efficacy of such a war, it feels a lot like commemorating the diagnosis of an incurable, terminal illness.
  9. i haven't put much thought into it, but what's your thinking behind the NFW to TOR-II?
  10. I've been to three bills games in my life. of the approximately quarter million people who have attended with me, I found less than, maybe, 100 would qualify as "winning at life". Keep in mind, I'm not talking about the city of Buffalo, just the people at 1 Bills Drive on Sundays in the Fall. Also, I have a very low threshold for "winning at life"
  11. And the defending champs were officially eliminated from the playoffs (put out of their misery in a mercy killing) today. Let's go O's! 8...
  12. We will destroy them. Our military/industrial strength ensures our victory. It will, however, almost certainly be a Pyhrric victory, and five years after that we'll be launching cruise missiles at a different set of initials.
  13. the.worst.
  14. Well, he'd have had 4, but the Bills foolishly elected to defer in a game that never made it to the second half. Just piss poor coaching.
  15. A note on ISIS/IS/ISIL: Far more Americans have been killed by armed groups in Latin America than in the Middle East over the last couple of years. The big difference being that they didn't film it. So, essentially, we're more fired up about this one because of the videos. If you don't take our enemies as complete idiots, they knew that this reaction was our only possible reaction: Lots of air strikes and weapons brought into the region to arm the local groups fighting ISIS/IS/ISIL. So we are giving them exactly what they wanted, but why did they want it? I believe it is because arming the Middle East to the teeth is what created them, the instability and destruction are what sustain them. It sustains them both in terms of recruiting new soldiers, and getting the support of locals when they provide them with some sense of stability and relief in the middle of what will become a Dystopian Hellscape. Fighting this permanent war in this manner is the geopolitical version of fighting an infection by taking antibiotics for 13 years and never bothering to wash your hands. If you do take our enemies to be complete idiots, I encourage you the withdraw yourself from any direct or indirect role in formulating the foreign and military policies of the United States of America. These monsters are evil, but they are evil geniuses.
  16. I'm super optimistic, because if I learned anything in my pre-teens (1991-1994) it's that the Bills will never ever let me down or break my heart. Bills - 79 (E.J. 65-70 for 8 TDs plus 115 yds rushing with 3 rushin tds, throws 1 interception, but gets a safety on his tackle during the run back.) Dolphins - 0 (all tragically killed in a meteor strike directly on the visitors locker room at halftime)
  17. Political arguments too far down the rabbit hole for even Glass to engage in seriously? Check.
  18. send a message to the future for FDR XVII to create a time machine and go back to 1924 and... steal all his valentines day cards!!
  19. Do you find them during your raids, or do you ransom the babies you take for them? If the latter, do you usually have to eat one first to set the tone, or do they take you seriously right from the start?
  20. What? You don't think FDR should be held responsible for the foreign policy decisions he made as Governor of New York during the Hoover Administration? You libs sure like to whitewash your own history.
  21. I have a stake in my family's season tix in section 313. We're friendly with the people around us. I love going to the games. Great atmosphere, especially for kids (as compared with other options in buffalo). I don't think I've ever had a bad time at a game.
  22. I think the league rushes this through in an attempt to change the headlines. On a related note: How happy do you think the NCAA and PSU are that all this happened yesterday.
