  2. list is only skaters, so no ullmark. also, the wild posted the entire list on their website for those without insider: http://wild.nhl.com/v2/ext/PDFs/Minnesota%20Wild%20Daily%20Clips%208-13-14.pdf
  3. Hold up there. The point was "season being over" not "no longer a championship contender. Put it this way. Do you think a Garroppolo led Pats team is still a favorite against a healthy bills?
  4. Given New England's strong recent history of being able to recover from injuries, even to their top stars, I believe they are a poor example to your point.
  5. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/nfl-players-would-least-like-to-play-for-oakland--new-poll-claims-162247669.html We're not the worst!
  6. Totally. Also: http://techcrunch.com/2014/07/09/homestar-runner-will-return/
  7. It's an Aquinas game in the song. My guess is the 1998 state playoff game between Aquinas and Clarence.
  8. He called the UB games for a few years I think.
  9. If there are two people in my life who I want to be arrogant bastards, it my pilot and my surgeon. That said I'm still glad I have my flight attendants and nurses/PAs when I actually need to deal with someone directly.

  11. How important was Wayne to the teams he played on? Mario? Syd? Gordie? Bobby? If you have one, they are of the ultimate importance. To final statement in the OP, each of these players guaranteed that their teams were better than they would have been without them. Significantly better. During each of their careers, other teams won stanley cups, sure, but every team that had one of these players got significantly worse after they left.
  12. Dramamine.
  13. Another key difference between the NFL draft and the NHL draft is that the BPA factor is significantly less. most teams take a specific position. So, while the best bets might be gone in the top 5, there is a lot more potential at pick 15 in the NFL draft than there is at pick 15 in the NHL draft.
  14. I can't speak for everyone else, but my concerns about EJ are not that he has failed to be a star. His reads are slow and his mid-range accuracy is off. I don't believe this is a result of his receivers running poor routes or dropping passes. He has always had slow reads and questionable mid-range accuracy. He could get away with it in the ACC and make up for it with his legs and the soft coverage of the college game. The biggest problem is that it has not improved much in the last 2-3 years. That is the concern. I have absolutely no problem drafting him when we did. We needed to take a chance. I have no problem not drafting a QB this year to see where he goes. I have a huge problem with trading the next opportunity to take a chance and improve the position for an upgrade in the 5th or 6th most important position while the jury is still out. This is a classic case of counting your chickens.
  15. Beat me to it :)
  16. Most of the anyones decided not to draft him. Nearly all the anyones agree he was a stretch. But you gotta take a QB and this is the one the rookie GM and Minor Program College coach agreed was the best available. Just like Ville was the best available. The NFL drafts grown ass men. The NHL drafts kids. Smile sunshine. The sabres are getting to the end of the tunnel. :)
  17. Saying he's only played half a season is like saying they drafted him out of a slot machine. He's shown his strengths and weaknesses in no fewer than 50 games. Anyone with a moderate knowledge of the quarterback position in the NFL can point out why everyone should be concerned.
  18. So you are rescuing yourself from their ineptitude by clinging to their ineptitude. This belongs in the awesome thread. :)
  19. Just stay away from D4rk's warehouse. The sound of the screams will haunt your sleep forever.
  20. Then the 75th anniversary of Lou Gerhig's farewell speech happened. This was gonna be a big ALS year. This just makes it crazy big. And yes, you can think its good and be sick if it. I feel that way about lots of things.
  21. 1. Armia, his AHL playoffs were outstanding. he's just coming up to speed, I think he could pot 15-20 NHL goals this season if he keeps it up. 2. Nothing will be more important than the Goalies 3. Zadorov, because Pominville.
  22. 75% of their money goes to programs, it's just that most of those programs are services and palliative care for people with ALS, not research. It will be interesting to see what they do this year. Their funding will be several times higher than in years past. They may have an even higher programs to revenue ratio, and I'll bet they support a much higher percentage of research.
  23. They could have. He could have taken the deal too. They both made choices. He disappointed me.
  24. I blame him for the fall on the ice as much as I blame the Rigas clan for the fall off of it. He made a choice.
  25. Mike Peca, and by a wide margin. He was supposed to be a leader.
