Get rid of the safety nets, catching errant pucks was such a fun part of hockey, now everyone is worried about lawsuits. Let the goalie play the Puck wherever he wants, the trapezoid is an abomination to the sport, some of the most exciting goals happened from goalies f+king up outside of the crease. I miss touch icing, fully understanding that the current wayis much safer. The race to touch the puck first was awesome. I have no need to see/hear a national anthem before a sporting event, unless it's the super bowl or equivalent, or one of those cool international games like in Sweden. I hate the shootout ending the game, I like 3 on 3 for what it is, but I'm not a huge fan of the current format. Bring back party in the plaza, even if we suck, get the fans all liquored up and the scoreboard won't matter. Find a way for cell phone/wifi service in the arena to magically not work, I'm sick of seeing the tween in front of me playing fortnite on his iPad at the hockey game. It all just adds to the general disinterest along with the lack of good hockey. For the love of God, no more floss can. Let me clear my throat, terrible, awful.... Bring back more organ, sabres dance and less terrible choices. Having a swat team standing out front of the arena for every game doesn't inspire safety, not one bit, it's creepy and weird. I think we're living in an Orwell book. I'm glad the 2 line pass is a thing of the past. Challenges must be clear and determined within 30 seconds or the call on the ice must stand. The podiatrist did an ultrasound and she could even feel the tear on exam before she was able to look at it on imaging. I really only ran once with some pain, but man did it get bad quick. The tear is in the worst area of the tendon, it's the one place it doesn't get very good blood flow, so healing is loooong I can still swim, and cycle, but I lost a little motivation at the moment, also the walking boot is kinda cramping my style lol.

Ugh, don't tempt me, Covid has slowed me down, but it hasn't stopped me ?

Thanks guys, I can't really do anything different at this point, so I'll have to suck it up and deal, a total rupture would be much much worse. Limping around the hospitals is gonna be awful for the next month

So in new events, I partially tore my achilles, had the podiatrist look today and I now have to shut down most of my training and have to pull out of the 70.3 in 3 weeks, huge bummer! I'll be sporting a walking boot for 3 weeks and need a repeat ultrasound to see how it's repairing, I can still swim and bike but I'm not feeling enthusiastic at the moment.

You can get it in a paste as well, I use it when I make Dak Galbi, a delicious Korean dish, sweet potato, cabbage, rice cakes yummmm

A lot of penalties in this game, overall it's fairly boring.

Never thought I'd see the day where a thread didn't go off the rails ripe with disagreement, THAT says a hell of a lot of how well they did. -

I had the need to get out some aggression/testosterone and I took the Italian rocket out as well. Man, I love hitting the S curves near my house with the bike sideways, the older I get the more I have the need for speed.

I agree on the testing, I also would like to see the accuracy of the testing get closer to 90%, although teasing out this specific coronavurus strand is posing to be the challenge. I'm also curious to see how the flu season stacks up this year, normally it's very busy, I'm hoping for a bit of reprieve this year in those regards.

I'm so torn on this game right now

Damn, you get quite the scenery, I got another 56 in today, it was a group training ride, 3600 ft of elevation change with Coach and some other riders, I was happy with my times, but those hills destroyed my soul lol. You can cycle year round right?
-
Cycling is becoming quite addicting, it's also wayyyy more expensive than I ever would have guessed. Hopefully I can start shedding some of these pounds I've accumulated over the last few years.

I wasn't being sarcastic in my post, I genuinely meant that things were civil, many months ago things got outta hand, in the heat of the pandemic and I took some time away, it wasn't with you. Since this thing isn't going away anytime soon, how long do we keep many things at a low capacity, certain businesses closed, borders closed, etc. At some point we have to deal with the fact that we have a new thing to deal with and we have to open things up wisely, but they need to move forward.

That's some pretty cool artwork, and I do appreciate riding for fun, I sandwich that somewhere between my training lol. 37 miles Is a lot of pedaling no matter what you're on also, probably a hell of a lot more than most people ?

That may be possible, I do work with nurses that have worked in the NY area during the worst and they certainly paint a grave picture. I don't discount the Tri state area, but I also know that the NY area is a bit of an overall outlier due to the sheer volume and density of people in a small area, there's almost no escaping anything when it hits that area.

This is the problem, this "debate" isn't possible with tangible evidence because it's all really a great unknown, so for right now we will just have to settle with being on separate pages. I don't discount the numbers of things I've seen, and many others I haven't seen when it comes to collateral damage from the Covid lockdown. I'm also not fully bought into the death toll numbers overall, I have personally seen many cases of them being fudged, and on a bigger scale, those add up. I get why, it does get into my gripe of modern medicine, but I digress. I don't think this is a made up disease, but I think the gross overreaction was a bit much and I guess I just ask too much of the leaders in the realm. The public panics easy, it's human nature and expected, maybe my military training is getting the better of me when it comes to dealing with people in a time of panic, remaining calm is a virtue that not many posses, under fire. Anyways, I'm more than happy to keep chatting on this , I'm honestly just happy things can be a bit more civil and more constructive, even if we don't fully agree ?

I don't have much scientific backup when it comes to the vaccination, at least not when it comes to this specific virus; I'll have to do a little research on that. I just simply don't trust a vaccination that is being rushed fairly quickly, and it's also being touted as this holy grail among most of the general public as well. I'm ok with them studying and making one, I just don't think that a vaccination is going to be as big of an answer as we hope. Hell, I'm more than ready to get back to some normalcy, so I hope it proves me wrong.
