With China, I don't know if we'll ever know what really happened. With Italy, probably. I had no cell service/internet access in the beginning of this whole mess so I didn't pay much attention. I would like to give a better answer, but sadly I cannot

The fact that I'm in this field has sadly chipped away at me into a person with this take. I Iove science, I think it's useful and interesting, but it still has its flaws. We're overpopulated to the point of ruining our air and land resources but let's go ahead and give handouts to people who feel the need to pop out 12 children. And then let's quarantine them all together to make that situation even worse. @darksabrehas it right on the above post, Sweden is "thriving" because they generally are just different than us. As I have said before, I'm not going to be on the same plane or see eye to eye with the general population on this subject, and that's OK. Maybe your right and my emotion is getting the better of me, but I won't change my stance that we overreacted to a grave point on this. My hope is the economy can recover, which I'm not sure about.

They're not trivial, it's still a decent amount of the population, I still think that this is a gross overreaction. Look at Sweden, they have kept the country open and people have used minimal social distancing and they're doing well. Their Healthcare system hasn't collapsed and their economy is subsequently not failing. We live in a country of skinny jeans, avocodo toast and identifying as whatever we feel like that morning as we wake up and collect govt money. We get offended and scared by everything. It's no surprise this virus has us running around in fear and driving alone in the car with N95 Masks.

How many people died in January and February before we called it Covid?

Gout be damned, so help me God, ill come within 5 ft of you

Breaking news: Flu symptoms added by the CDC. Why don't they just say, if you have any symptom at all you have Covid. Toe pain, yep you have it; left knee throbbing, yep quarantine yourself

This is true, I also don't have any kids/real family to think about either, so my perspective should be taken with a grain of salt for sure.

Hey now, I'm a blonde, I'm not quite to the ginger pale level, maybe one notch up lol, I own sunscreen, but for some reason I forget to apply I don't get it either, it's OK for rich Joe blow to go golf, but it's not ok for me to go pitch a tent that's at least 50 feet from another site.....this whole thing was half @ssed since it started and it continues to be. Incompetence at the highest

I was at Saratoga state park last week, and while there were some people on the trails, it was nothing like yesterday. I've been on the less popular side of the spectrum since this started, I was and still am all for herd immunity. It's the way it's been done for a long time before the last few decades. I don't mean this in a grim, I want everyone to die sort of way, but I do feel that what's happening now is blown way out of proportion.
-
No this needs to end in general. The first nice day in this area and the park was basically at capacity. I get everyone being bored as hell but social distancing wasn't really applying at all today, what's the point if that's the case. I used to play in undergrad, I was never that good, my buddy is a pro, he beat me 6-0, 6-1, but I pushed a couple games to my AD, for a first time out, ill take it. I also got sunburned lol

I played tennis today, I've never in my life seen Como Park as absolutley mobbed as it was today... Jfc this needs to end

Maybe I'll be able to travel there finally!! I have been wanting to for a long time

I haven't really seen this hit hard at all, and I've done a pretty good job of avoiding most media coverage, so I'm coming at this from a different point of view than most. Once this is over, we should grab a beer and I can pick your brain on your thoughts from a medical perspective on this, since you're internal medicine and are def dealing with this being at Joe's.

Diabetes, heart disease, COPD, things we excel at in Merica'

In the end, this is going to be on par with a nasty flu season, and it will be annoying. I can't wait for the next shutdown in response to the rhinovrus, global warming or because the organic store is out of tofu.

Idk if I missed something but the golf courses in springville have been packed all week, I can go to Ollie's (because they sell perishable goods) and a lot of other annoying things, these don't seem essential in the least, honestly, it doesn't bother me much as I'm ready for this to be over, but just strange to see these things that can still operate.

I'll let your brain decide....

Being a Navy vet, I can assure you that inks statement is true ??

Just out of curiosity, as I honestly don't know.... How are other countries handling this, I canceled my big trip next month, mainly because the borders are closed and there was a mandatory 14 day quarantine in govt facilities for US citizens that do fly in. No thank you on that front. Are we leading the way in what other countries will do still?

I'm at the point where the curve has flattened enough, let's get these people back to work, we now have trillions of dollars to make up from stimulus funds that won't mean anything if we don't get things up and running again. The health care system can handle it.
-
Oh definitley, for example, I am an independent contractor but technically with a group. The nurses are in a union, but only at select hospitals, there are several subcontracted medical specialty groups, then there are actual hospital employees as well. Up until recently there were a couple of primary care docs that did their own admission and etc, but I think that is done. It used to be much simpler
-
The hospital has officially started cutting hours in all departments even the ED!!! they're losing money like crazy since they are so far out of the pandemic zone. Things really need to get back to normal soon, all we hear about are the hot spots but layoffs, furloughs and etc are a big deal to many health care workers that rely on their jobs. I'm sure that isn't being televised but they'll keep throwing the BS hero word around while handing you a pink slip. Just frustrated by some friends and colleagues that have been screwed over by the hospital systems in the face of this.

Before and after, also ripped out my 1970s dishwasher and am going to "try to" install tomorrow after I gather up the rest of the pieces I need for the install. Did this all today and it's only one coat so far, a total remodel is out of my budget, so some hard work and 80 bucks and you can change the room to anything ya want ? The issue I'm running into is the cupboards are so ugly, and the blueish material doesn't match anything now, I'm debating buying some bonding primer and doing all of those center pieces of all the cabinets a tan or deep walnut color to match the olive green. The other option is to find some cool contact paper and make inlays for them all, either way is going to be time consuming as hell. I'm far from a handyman and I'm open to any suggestions

I've been cooking a lot. Homeade lasagna, cheesecake filled gingerbread muffins, chicken souvlaki with Greek potatoes, etc.
