  1. I find him to be insufferable as a person. I know many people with mental health issues, I also know alcoholics. They aren't all *****, he is. Still, I'm glad he got help.
  2. Oh boys, I now use proper riding gear (now that I'm an adult ??) also, I'm an octopus not a squid, duh
  3. Honestly I am just hoping for a quick conclusion, we have world renound virologists and people of science on this. On a side note health care workers are being attacked in public, people coming up to them in gas stations and spraying them with lysol, and other ridiculous things. I had to stop at Wal mart (shiver) this morning, after I left an overnight shift, I changed into clean scrubs and showered before leaving, but I was still out and about in scrubs... The evil eyes and stares I was getting was out of hand, all the hoarders were looking at me like an alien with death stares. Kinda eerie, and firmly keeping me in mind mind of belief that we need natural selection ?
  4. I pulled the trigger ? y'all can help spread my ashses soon ?
  5. Yes, I am mixing up my years and my diseases, my apologies. The sheer amount of crap we're being put through in the Healthcare field is causing some flip flopping for all of us, mentally speaking. Every day, new guidelines, new procedures, new stories, wading through the muck, etc. I'll put it as plainly as I can from a personal perspective. I was trained in the military to prepare for stuff like this, quarantine, etc. I dont personally belive this is as bad as we are making it out to be; I don't think it's just the flu, but I don't think it warrants national and international shutdown. With that being said, if we are going to declare a national emergency and a pandemic I do have an expectation that those in charge (leaders of health organizations, hospitals, etc) will have their crap together, and we simply do not. I may not agree with everything that is going on, but in my job, I can take orders well. Someone level headed needs to take charge and it's simply not happening (especially in my current local situation). The lack of preparedness and the lack of following through on this social distancing thing makes this feel like a joke.
  6. I believe I was
  7. It's not the flu as in influenza, but it's grossly similar, it's a virus, a novel virus similar to the flu, a novel virus (swine). I'm indurated with information about all of this stuff, but I also have real life experience working through H1N1, we easily could have had this level of involvement with H1N1 but we didn't, even with many more deaths than what the predictions are here with this virus. The Info I'm seeing and hearing from colleagues and news media are varying from day to day and site to site. It's hard to grasp exactly.
  8. I think that is part of it, not all of it, but it's not helping.
  9. I Was at Millard suburban that year I believe, we were using thr GI endoscopy suite as overflow from the ER due to the bad flu, the same precautions held, if you're young and healthy, stay home drink soup. Older people and those who are immuncompromised need us more. This is very similar and the ER's are getting overrun across the globe, I just have seen so much worse in other countries before, including ebola, and some time in Iraq, so it's hard for me to have the same level of panic and fear personally that many others have in society.
  10. Most of the misinformation is social media. But I'm leary of the death numbers.... Let's say patient A has pancreatic cancer, end stage.... Patient gets Covid and dies from pancreatic CA, they still count in the death toll towards Covid. Last week a patient in my hospital (a separate one I work per diem) died, she had Covid, she also had end stage emphysema, so the it's attributed to Covid, not the fact that she smoked 3 packs per day since age 15. Im just frustrated and ranting a bit, but there are certainly some issues at hand in terms of delivery on this matter. H1N1 killed 40 million people, and we didn't do anything. This has killed 20k and we're losing our minds. So, I think it's an overreaction, personally
  11. I'm just gonna buy a boat, paddle out to the Indian Ocean, rent an over water cabana and enjoy the Maldives or some other island in the sun, until the world stops losing its damn marbles. That way the melanoma and liver disease can claim me instead of me losing my damn mind in 1st world media blubber. The amount of sheer incorrect information (many from medical professionals) is staggering and I think that's more stressful than the actual virus. People just need their damn 15 minutes of fame in social media and nothing will stop them from trying to take glory for misinformation. My cousin currently has positive Corona in Albany, but every 10 minutes he's on social media with some political post nonsense, doesn't seem like he's that sick to me. I know when I have the flu, the last thing I care about is the internet. I wish airplanes would start spraying aeresolized Ativan into the general population to calm everyone the hell down.
  12. I'm just not too familiar with these Italian bikes so much, I'm also a fan of the full fairing look overall. He's looking for 4k and he's taken amazing care of this bike, the upgrades alone make this a steal. Looking at the reviews the concensus is that it's basically a race bike with street comfort. I don't hate the "naked" part of it, just not sure if I should pass this up for a more aggressive look, and sacrifice performance.
  13. I bet it's terrible right now, stay strong and away from those droplets my friend
  14. Idk man, this is just getting out of hand, complete lack of preparedness
  15. Unfortunatley, I fear that this may be the case, they have already prepped beds at facility B and the US has lifted many medical guidelines temporarily for this pandemic, a lot of what was previously not allowed is graced until this is over. Crazy times.
  16. He's very knowledgeable and has done a tone of upgrades, it only has 7k miles on it he got it in 2009. As for the bike, I don't need to be doing wheelies or anything stunt wise, but my peterbilt can barely handle a corner because of its weigh and it's low foot platforms. I like it, but it's my highway cruiser and I miss coming hard out of a corner. There is a dealer in Amherst that can get parts and repair any needs that he uses. I attached some pics of the bike, I'm debating on pulling the trigger, but idk if I need another bike, just a 1st world problem ?
  17. I have the ability to purchase a 2008 Aprilia Tuono 1000R from a colleague for a good price, I have my peterbilt road bike and miss the torque and hp of a sportier bike these days. Anyone know much about naked sports bikes or have any thoughts on this?
  18. So apparently under order from the governer, we have converted the surgery center and other beds in the ER and hospital to be a Corona virus zone, they are going to start shipping patients from NYC to this county (a county with zero CONFIRMED cases, with many suspected). I get the city is struggling, but this seems counterintuitive to the overall mission of flattening the curve and stopping the spread, we all know damn well what is going to happen and we don't even have close to enough PPE to handle this properly. The completely illogical way of thinking has me sad for this country's future, this damn pandemic has really shown me how good we are at facing adversity, and we suck at it. In 1 weeks time, we will all be knee deep in this Corona at work, I am hoping that it isn't as bad as the media is portraying it to be. I'm just very frustrated overall, reasonably so. I wish I could offer up a better solution, but I think Natural selection needs to take its course, let herd immunity rule and build up natural defenses and cross out fingers and hope we outlast this thing. A little cruel sounding sure, but it's what we have done for countless centuries prior to this. Asking the limited Healthcare providers to best this in our current situation is difficult to impossible.
  19. Sadly no, the symptoms of this mimic literally every other URI known to man, there are some subtle differences at times, and some lab tests may help differentiate, but we don't do blood work on every URI patient, if anything it's even harder as we can't even test for influenza/rsv due to the shortage of testing supplies. We have to assume everyone with any cough, fever, or other list of complaints has it, the trick of when to test, admit, etc is still an uphill battle with no real direction or guidelines from the top.
  20. ... I did, the girls stayed up, looted me and left ?
  21. I think after all of this is over, things will just continue the way they were, I have no faith in society to take much good from this, we are inherintley a selfish culture (as a whole) and we have evolved to a species that doesn't learn from our misfoturnes, or our mistakes ? Sh1t, maybe I need an antidepressant
  22. I was waiting for that.... Plot twist, I had some girlies over, white claws and pastries=good night for wyld ??
  23. I thought about deleting, but I tried to make it as non political as possible. It's a real concern to me that we shut down the nation for Covid and then already hearing about retreating course, if they aim to not overburden the hospitals, this is a sure fire way to fail in that mission. The country for all intents and purposes are on pins and needles, so anything said is going to be taken more seriously than before. There are a lot of medical staff in the hospitals where I work, that are very very afraid of what's to come, from colleges that don't spook easily, some very bright minds at that. I may not be on that end of the spectrum when it comes to this thing, but I certainly don't dismiss their concerns.
  24. So now the story is we're going to try to restart the economy, what the heck are we doing as a country....we have failed on every level of this, we want our cake and want to eat it too. Are we so inept that we can't handle a shutdown of more than a week, don't declare a national emergency and shut down the world due to a virus and then turn it off before the virus actually makes it's course. Either this thing is a glorified flu and that's what's coming to light, or this thing is as bad as they say and we are being stupid and greedy.
