  1. I am not so sure you aren’t injecting alot of bias into this opinion. And we’ve already traded one high demand player for two lesser assets with dubious expectations for on ice results. Why the ***** would you want to do it again?
  2. You have to admit that trading for Andersson has the same risks as re-signing Byram in regards to kicking the can down the road a season or two. The risk of Andersson not signing is every bit as high as the risk of Byram leaving at the end if a short term deal.
  3. Same vacation schedule here. My plan includes lots of time paddling, a little time with some small chores, and at least 1 bottle of Tequila Ocho.
  4. I guess it all depends on how you want to view “promising”. Helenius seems to be developing as hoped. I think Östlund is maybe Savoie level, which isnt a given for an NHL future. Rosen is what he is at this point, which is probably a minor star in a European league. Wahlberg, harder to say. I suspect he may have more runway as a potential role player.
  5. I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see Quinn in the top 6. Its such a roll of the dice.
  6. Ok, you haven’t convinced me, but you’ve talked me off the edge. I hate you.
  7. I think the threat of an offer sheet has him on the defensive, and ultimately will influence his ability to stand firm on value, with or without a specific return in mind.
  8. I hope you are more right than I.
  9. It will be interesting to see if the return is better than the player we gave up to get him, Mittlestadt. Im guessing not, given the situation.
  10. The entire draft- post draft period has been played from a defensive posture. Nearly every move made has been defensive so they can react to an offer sheet. The whole thing was just not well strategized. I liked Mitts for Bowen, even if he wasn’t sure what to do with the player. I thought we got the better player AND we bought a year before making a big decision. It certainly seems Bowen is worth more than Mitts today. But it also seems that KA has backed himself into a situation where he likely won’t be able to get full value.
  11. Well, certainly keeping Byram is more hopeful than trying to work with the lesser parts we’d get back in return. What we need right now (other than a mid competence GM) is an innovative coach that can turn 3 high end offensive defensemen, 2 snipers, and 3 really solid 200’ forwards into a gameplan/system unlike the rest of the league. Alas, Team Lindy is likely a bit stretched for the task.
  12. I’m not expecting it. But at this point nothing would surprise me.
  13. I can’t get past, who are they going to find worth spending $11M on that will agree to sign?
  14. Wouldn’t that be delicious in an awful kind of way if the key piece in the Reinhart trade doesn’t want to be here?
  15. Given the depth of high end offensive skill on our blue line, its kind of ridiculous that we haven’t leveraged that on our powerplay. FFS every high end passer on this team is on defense.
  16. I mean….. there is accuracy in that statement. But only because the guy pulling the rope is a 65lb weakling. He pretty much created the circumstances.
  17. He is gonna be traded to Calgary in an uninspiring trade for a lesser player or two and a lottery ticket that will be in the later half of whatever round its in.
  18. As regular viewers are all too aware, I barely watch this team anymore. And I don’t get emotionally invested. But….. I think this might be the most disappointing offseason since Black Friday. I get it, Peterka was refusing to negotiate. It feels like losing Drury again. Not the Peterka was the key, but that right now the hole seems unfillable. And now KA has to play defense with Bo just to ensure we get something respectable when he’s gone. We are pretty much resigned to moving backwards with him too. It feels like the final unraveling is starting, and it is going to pick up speed until the Sabres are in an unintended tank. JFC Terry, Adams is in over his head and the whole ***** thing is on the verge of crashing down.
  19. He never not says that
  20. Oh c’mon. You know there is at least one. You know you are thinking of that person right now.
  21. Did you have someone in mind? Lol WE WANT NAMES!
  22. If I remember correctly, there is a small limit to the number of times you can walk away from an Arbitration result.
  23. I don’t know. He didn’t impress me at all when Ive seen him play. This guys screams not good enough to stick to me. Another Bryson, really.
