Static-X, Dope and Gwar tomorrow evening. Early dinner at home, cocktails at Ballyhoo, and then a few hours of metal to round out the day. I don’t think I am setting the alarm for Monday morning.

Hence why its doom. He’s too parochial to be aware there is another lake in Ontario that is a Great Lake (ffs) and has both walleyes and salmon.. It even says ONTARIO in the name.

How the hell did that show up as a quote of mine? -
Ugh. He apparently isn’t aware that Lake Ontario has good populations of both salmon and walleye. We’re doomed.

Don’t make perfect the enemy of better though.

You are stuck on goalie/ D vs forward as an either or. Its not. It has to be all of them if playoffs is a serious goal.

Ok Mrs. Adams, put the wine bottle down. -
You are assuming I don’t see him as a 30 goal winger. I don’t care. This team needs a different mix at forward, and needs to get older. Running back Quinn and the rest of the forward group is not a playoff making decision.

If I see KA At Chautauqua Lake on July 1 I am gonna kick his bippy all the way to the Thruway entrance in Westfield. -
This is why this team needs to win now, and betting on Jack Quinn to be a difference maker next season when he hasn’t been a difference maker is a high risk bet. It is why you move a Quinn for a “now” roster boosting player.

Right now there are too damn many gaps to tell. Get an established 1G and spend to near the cap on good vets, and maybe we can answer the question in the title.

This seems about right to me, and reflects how I would prioritize moving young players for roster upgrades. They all might become good NHL players, but realistically we don’t have enough room for all of those players in their age groups. So some of them have to go. Rosen and Quinn top the list in the 22-23 age class for players to move because they simply aren’t performing up to the level of Peterka. And even if we are forced to move Peterka, I am still looking to move Quinn because of the uncertainty around what player he may become. We need certainty, and we need players with a more diverse game. Östlund should be prioritized to move over Kulich because Kulich is performing at a higher level.

You are betting on hope. Or maybe faith is a better word. Neither are data based. Are not a good substitute for a plan. And I don’t believe in hope or faith anyway. You go ahead and estimate, and hope that it isn’t an over estimate. I hope you are right, but I’ll not expect it to happen at any point.

Are you proposing that we essentially stand pat with the forward group? No change in the mix of tools/talents at all? I have to say, if we upgrade goalie, and upgrade a D man or two, my prediction is, if you don’t change the mix in the forward group as well, if the team makes the playoffs at all, it will be by the skin of their teeth. For all the goals this team scored, defensive support from the forwards was pretty weak. And they finished 12pts behind a playoff spot in a year that saw uncharacteristically low point levels to get in. You can’t fiddle around the edges with the forwards group and expect to make the playoffs, even if we upgrade D and G. And the forwards group is still too young. Moving a young ROSTER player or two for a vet with a more complimentary, but not matching, skillset is imperative.

Levi wouldn’t be my preference. We need someone who has demonstrated they are up to the task. I’m looking to the other 31 teams in the league as well as the free agency list if I am GM.

Didn’t he work for the league for a bit after he left the Sabres? -
I don’t understand how you don’t see Quinn’s expendability as a style of play mix as well. As stated earlier, we have Tuch and Tage as top 6 RWs. We need a player better suited to middle 6 for the spot Quinn occupies. Maybe Quinn blossoms elsewhere. So what? This team needs a different mix. Given that we aren’t moving on from Tage or Tuch, it makes sense to use Quinn to get the different skillset that helps balance out the forward roster. That he has the potential to blossom just makes it more likely we can get a better example of the skillset we lack than if he wasn’t so young.

I really hate the 3 headed monster. We need a clear cut #1 and go with whoever shines preseason as the #2. Sign a plan C for Rochester.

Those groups do not seem well balanced.

Weird. I thought the season ended around Dec 1. Are there teams that play until June?

Yeah, I got that, and was questioning if being under Adams spell is less damaging than simply being a patsy (and therefore prone to keep being put under a spell, I guess),
