Oof. Yeah, it's nice stuff but I'm not interested in paying $75 for it.

Had a new to me pour today. Whistle Pig Farmstock Rye. I've had Whistle Pig in the past, but not this bottling. It is a limited bottling, whatever that is. The brand was a bit maligned when it first came out, not because of the quality of the liquid, but because its story didn't match reality. Their advertising made claims of being a small, craft distiller of locally sourced ingredients, but the reality was they were sourcing their distillate from large suppliers. Not unlike Templeton Rye claiming to be a craft whiskey when they were buying their juice from the largest producer of rye whiskey in the world. But amid the controversy, Whistle Pig whiskey was praised as good stuff. Maybe overpriced, but solid. I had mine neat. This one is 86 proof, a bit lighter than I usually prefer. It had a sweet, bourbon-y nose. Caramel and vanilla. On the tongue the sweetness was just as apparent. Not a typical rye so far. Nice viscosity, and subtle barrel notes. The finish surprised me. Usually ryes are pepper and spice on the finish, with a bit of grassiness mixed in. This one had hints of that grassieness, but cinnamon dominated the finish. A delicious, sweet cinnamon. I had this one at a nearby wine bar. I'm not sure of the bottle cost, but a double pour at the wine bar was $13. Pretty tolerable for what it was. I'd buy it again.

Sheary I get, but how much value does the 6th defenseman on one of the worst teams in the league have?
-
I guess I need to see that trade first because I’m not convinced our dumps have any demand, even for picks.
-
I'm just not sure how we make a trade with a team facing a cap crunch when we've got a bit of a cap crunch as well.

Cheeses. Like Scott Stevens with elbows down.

Out on the lake at dawn in my kayak this morning. Very few anglers on the water. Incredibly peaceful. Found a big school of hungry crappies. Watched a juvenile eagle at work. Was a beautiful morning.

That is my take as well.

Grocery fishing. Love it. I'm hoping the wind doesn't keep me from getting out tomorrow.

This is downright laughable given The Patriot Act, TSA, and everything else that followed in the wake of 9/11. The days of Republicans being advocates for privacy started falling away with the war on drugs and officially ended when the 2nd plane flew into the World Trade Center. -
Usimng this definition, no we don't have enough. And we don't have enough talent ofr it to matter as well. So I should have just "liked" your post instead.

It is only paramount to the extent that we need to have an improvement on the roster before letting someone go. -

Not a fan of the gold inside the shield, but if the team is anything like the last 7 years I won't see it much. -
I'm sure it applies in the loosest of definitions. I'm not expecting the Sabres version of Edward R. Murrow here.

Generally still in show me mode, leaning towards the negative though. He’s had plenty of time for the team to show progress. -

Aren't the only choices available Buffalo's number or Erod's number? I thought it was a very binary judgement. No middle ground. -

And here it is, conservative nationalism is nothing more than the new collectivism. Good outcomes at the expense of individual liberty. No wonder the right has become smitten with Russia. https://reason.com/2019/07/18/the-new-conservative-nationalism-is-about-subverting-individual-liberty/ -
I've actually been to the Stone Jug before. A looooong, looong time ago. I am going to try to make this, but it is a substantial drive from work.

Dahlin, most certainly. Gawd, I hope Casey does as well.
