  1. They were utilizing a left wing lock, which was a 1-2-2 system.
  2. The 1-2-2 part is definitely proven. NJD played it all the way to a Cup. But I'm pretty sure their defenders pressured at the line, and their forwards were terriers on a loose puck. And having Brodeur in the net helped too.
  3. It goes deeper than that for me. At the end of a season where he barely missed out on a bonus he lamented giving up too soon. W.T.A.F. The reported lack of respect for Gionta and Georges. The slow line changes. If there is one thing most fans have low tolerance for it is taking the gifts you've got, and the opportunity presented to you for granted. And Jack has definitely done his share of things to make it appear that he's taking what he's got for granted to some degree. By contrast, everyone respects Matt freaking Ellis.
  4. This concept has been my argument why the tank was doomed to failure. It has forced development of these kids at a harmful rate. I think Pi’s point had some merit. It is a speed league. Lacking high end speed, his other shortfalls get magnified.
  5. Clearly not.😆
  6. I generally like the lunch pail guys. Girgs, Lazar, Cozens, McCabe. Most of the rest range from OK to meh for me. Okposos fall off makes it hard to have the same level of “like” that I used to have. He’s a lunch pail guy too. Always was. But he just can’t do it anymore and it’s not his fault. Father Time has caught up.
  7. I thought that was Paul Gaustad.
  8. That tweet sounded to me more like, OK it's your turn, we won't meddle this time.
  9. Yup. Between Jack being out and a cast of characters that have already given up, the on ice product probably won't be much different for the remainder of the season.
  10. I agree with this. It sure seemed that the RK plan was in agreement with the KA plan. There was not tension between the two fo them. Ralph got fired because this whole thing became a bad joke, not because the organization wasn't on the same page.
  11. You answered your own question. You need another Knox's running the show.
  12. I couldn't pick a single player off that list. What an unlikeable team.

    Confidence

    Yup, that is my concern.
  14. Style is unimportant. The players need to be all in for a change. A coach that commands respect through his accomplishments and record is needed. No more benefit of the doubt for this group of core players. You've had 3 swings. OK, maybe we call Ralph a foul ball. Bottom line, it's time to stop blaming coaching.
  15. This is too good a market to be the Atlanta Thrashers, yet here we are.......
  16. The whole notion of a super spy does seem kind of silly without the Cold War backdrop, doesn't it?
  17. Let's not forget that English is a second language for Risto. You guys are reading too much into it.
  18. Sounds like it all went downhill when you showed up.
  19. You complete me.
  20. I saw the FB post that he was in the running. That is awesome!
  21. The correct question is, did anyone see the game last night? And, if so, why?
  22. I don't know that I have a least favorite. I haven't found any of them to be likeable at all. Rolston comes the closest I guess, but is it his fault that the GM went out and hired the least qualified person to coach the team? Should I really hate on Ron for being the lamb fed to the lions? A very, very few players have my respect for consistently doing their best during these trying times, but that is about the extent of my emotions, really. The rest can all be labeled as having my equal level of apathy. There needs to be an F 'em all choice.
