Ive seen enough icing the youngest team in the league to know I don’t want them to ice one even younger. And there is no indication whatsoever that Novikov is better than Bryson or Clifton. I get you are dissatisfied with the Sabres but noone is saying Novikov is ready to displace anyone on the roster. Its an emotional, illogical reach to want him in Buffalo now.

Murray, Kozak, Dunne were brought up due to illness. Kulich showed he’s ready to displace someone. You have yet to convince me bringing up Novikov is because he is ready to displace someone on the roster.

No other team in league history has had a 14 season culture of losing. No other team has focused on youth for this long as this team. This is so far from normal that normal doesn’t apply. Bringing up Novikov now disassembles any message that winning is important right now.

Right. Give him a spot. 13 ***** years. If you had said, bring him up and see what he looks like in practice and if he looks better than Clifton, Id have no argument. I disagree on the lazy part. I don’t get the sense that this group is lacking in effort. And regarding Cozens specifically, soft is not a word I would use to describe him. Cozens in particular has looked shellshocked in interviews. I think the failures here aren’t related to laziness or softness in the roster. I think as a whole these players are simply overwhelmed by the enormity of the task before them. More battle tested ***** veterans, Kevyn. Ffs its been 14 seasons.

Like I said, everyone develops their own mental image of what they are reading. For all I know, my take is a minority opinion. But the n my head he wasn’t hulking, but he was intimidating. He was also portrayed as athletic, and fast. More tight end than old school middle linebacker. Gronk was more like what I pictured, not Brian Bosworth.

Obviously everyone has a unique mental image when they read a book. In my head the Reacher character wasn’t a Conan the Barbarian build. Ritchson, to me, is too bulky for the role. And Cruise was just plain wrong for it.

Neither was the strategy that led to drafting 1st overall 3 times in under a decade.
