  1. Or, a planned top 5 pick is the actual seasons’ goal. F me I hate that the thought even crossed my mind.
  2. Agree in principle, if not in totality. The only disagreement I have is a minor one. We have quite a few assets in the Cozens - Quinn age group, so I prefer moving one or two of those. I think at least two of Cozens, Quinn, Power, Byram, Kulich, Peterka, Krebs need to go and be replaced by playoff seasoned equivalents. Understanding that pulling that off may mean sweeteners.
  3. Yeah, mediocre implies average or ordinary. This has been anything but ordinary. Ordinary would have resulted in an occasional playoff visit.
  4. How is Looney Tunes not in the gif list for that phrase?
  5. I am sure someone corrected him by now. Lol
  6. This might be one of those increasingly rare set of circumstances where I will watch the game because it is somewhat likely to be on a screen within sight of a barstool I hope to be inhabiting this evening. Otherwise, if a hockey game is played but I don’t look for it, did it really happen?
  7. Win 10 in a row, AND maintain .550 after that, AND the teams between you and 8th maintain their pace or worse.
  8. I DID mention the team getting better. But thanks for Making clear the obvious that you don’t make trades that make your team worse. The context of the reply was your concern over a player succeeding elsewhere. WFC if they succeed elsewhere? I don’t. You shouldn’t either. All that matters is if we’ve improved our team. If we have, I don’t care if the former Sabre wins Hart trophies. And, no *****, Sherlock, if the trade makes the team worse it’s a bad trade. There, now you don’t have to repeat it.
  9. If that isn’t throwing shade, I don’t know what is.
  10. Maybe he shines in no pressure, no expectation environments. Who the hell wants to sit in a room with MacKinnon, McDavid, or Marshand yelling at you all the time?
  11. Dwelling on players succeeding elsewhere is counter productive. The only thing that matters is improving this team. What a former player does elsewhere is meaningless.
  12. I honestly don’t. I think it is hyperbole to state it. There were literally a handful that said he was too weak, etc. to be a good player. A handful more (including me) who said he wasn’t properly cast as a center (and he’s not). And a few that simply thought he wasn’t a good personality fit. The majority saw that he was a good, young player that was going to negatively impact the team when he was moved.
  13. So, just like on the ice, the kids are fed to the wolves unsupported. Noice.
  14. I can’t trust your judgement anymore. About anything.
  15. This is where they lost the ball oh so many seasons ago, and it was my primary reason for opposing the tank. Somewhere along the way Pegula got so enamored with being a hero that he forgot the greatest reason for the Sabres being is to entertain the fans. And he still hasn’t been able to see this is the real forest among the trees.
  16. Agree completely , a trade for Kasper is kicking the can down the road at least another year. Even suggesting this as a strategy should be a fireable offense. “Win now” should be the two most repeated words in this organization. edited for poor reading comprehension
  17. Wins. At some point this team needs to prioritize wins. What is a good reason to not start doing so now?
  18. I never had a doubt…..
  19. That doesn’t make sense to me. He’s their 1C.
  20. The hell would Detroit have that we would have interest in? Please don’t let it be picks or prospects. We’ve been kicking the can down the road for over a decade.
  21. Well, that game was an exhilarating ride, innit?
  22. This is “you can’t win with / there is no room for Kovalchuk” all over again. He would be an instant, and significant upgrade to our top 6. For those who believe Tage Thompson is a 1C, there is a realistic possibility that we suddenly have two good 1C’s on the roster. I like the concept of Cozens, but there is enough history to suggest that it might be just concept. If I can move a 2/3C and a 3D to get an elite skill 1C that seems to need a change of scenery, I think it is a gamble worth taking. Fatten the deal with one of our prospects and see if we can get a vet stay at home D included in the package. This team needs a bold, room changing move. A serious shake up. Moving a couple of kids for an elite talent shakes things up considerably and shows the others that it’s time to win now, and management is providing the tools.
  23. This is why number of teams to leap frog is at least as important as points back.
  24. I lose a little more faith in humanity every time Babymetal shows up on my youtube feed. I thought I knew you.
