  1. Context. The discussion was in regards to making a couple of trades now to fill the holes and improve the likelihood of making the playoffs. The post you quoted was my response to someone suggesting that there was an either/or here, get in the playoffs this season OR have a decade of success. My point was, both are reasonably possible. But if we lose the next 2 games I think our goose is cooked whether we make a move or not. At this point the value in a deadline deal is dropping fast.
  2. ***** like this is why I say the future is not guaranteed. Hopefully we don’t have some timely incident derail another playoff run whenever the ***** KA is ready to try to win.
  3. You guys are clearly doing twitter wrong. I don’t see any of that *****. It’s not that hard to filter what you want to see.
  4. I might tolerate ESPN+ and TNT blackouts, but I’m doin month to month on a subscription. MSG is useless to me outisde of the Sabres. And frankly, if this team were to go backwards, I want an eject button on the subscription.
  5. If it allows in market streaming it will be the first time I am tempted to pay for a service since I cut the cord over 10yrs ago
  6. Why does it have to be either or? What is so unrealistic about starting a 10 yr playoff run with this season?
  7. The defense last night was essentially in the same position the entire team had been for the previous 10ish seasons. With Dahlin out every D man needed to play at least 1 level up from where they are normally slotted. We got away with it for a game, but there is no way it was sustainable in any way.
  8. I agree, Pimlach. This is looking like a missed opportunity to develop this team with a playoff series, and I’ve said as much multiple times. Hopefully they do rise to the occasion and overcome the injuires and inconsistencies in net and make the playoffs. But I won’t put any money on it happening. It feels like it went from 50/50 to get in to a 20/80 to get in over the course of 1 week.
  9. If KAs goal for the season changed to getting into the playoffs, IMO the bigger need right now is to replace some of the offense and speed we’re losing with Tuch out of the lineup. We were on pace to make the show before Tuch went down. I’m not really expecting that losing our best offensive threat on the wing is conducive to continuing that pace, regardless if we picked up Schenn or get Chykrun (sp?). But I don’t think KAs goal for the season moved to include playoffs, so I expect we’re done with trades.
  10. I think he’s keeping his bait wet in case something unexpected comes along, but otherwise I think he’s done.
  11. I don’t think Stillman is insurance. I think he’s the fall back position. think KA evaluated what it would cost to get our preferred defenseman and chose plan B instead.
  12. Say what now? Bloom is absolutely not a known. And if he is a known and they moved him anyway, that should tell you that what KA does know about him indicates that he sees more value in Fitz2.0 than he does in what he knows about Bloom. I can’t believe the energy being expended over the movement of a guy with about 10-15% chance to play 100 games in the NHL.
  13. I keep telling myself, this is no big deal. None of the teams around us in the standings have made a deal.
  14. You should rant about it in all the threads. Wait…… Nevermind
  15. Funny. My son bought a house that was a flipped foreclosure. Now I am buying new toys just so he can borrow them.
  16. Mandalorian is a totally different experience than Andor. More of what you would typically expect out of a Star Wars show.
  17. Thats what Ive been saying. They upgraded specific traits in the 6/7 role, physicality and size.
  18. Promo still complaining about lack of demand for the tickets he wants sell to out of towners? Check.
  19. My early observation is that JJ is probably going to need to change his game somewhat to be successful with Buffalo. We have so much offensive talent up front right now and JJ isn’t likely getting in front of any of it. And in a couple of seasons he should have a fair amount of pressure behind him. I think JJ is going to need to develop some jam to differentiate his game from what’s on the roster, and what’s coming. He’s got the frame to do it.
  20. Even if he is equivalent to Clague and Bryson, He is a better stylistic match for some opponents. In that regard, he IS an upgrade.
  21. You are hung up on a low probability magic bean. We traded a slight chance at a depth forward for an actual depth defenseman who’s young, has a little term, and is less risk. This is whining over nearly nothing.
