My recollection was that Briere was mostly playing wing at first, as was Connolly. Maybe my memory is not correct. I mentioned the similarity in depth without an elite player a little while back. A counter was made that Briere was elite. I never saw him that way, but I may not be in the majority with that view. Regardless, the situation may turn out to be similar in terms of numbers of 2C level centers on the team.

I don’t think we’d notice the difference between subtracting Hayden and subtracting Bjork.

I’m guessing Krebs Mitts Bjork gets 3rd line minutes tonight and VO Cozens Asplund is even with Thompson line minutes. I haven’t been paying attention. Is DG still not line matching with the opponent?

I thought going for the 1 extra point was a moment of doubt in his team. After so many “go for its” on 4th down, I was surprised he played it safe.

The way the rules are now, a QB like Allen or Mahomes are going to make even great defenses look flawed if they are on their game. Maybe crowd noise or weather changes that. In Buffalo’s case, it is a good reason to want that game here. That might have been the only difference between those two teams last night. Home field.

For starters, I won’t be convinced Girgensons and Hiney are our 4th option LW and RW until they actually are that low on the depth chart. Like my old Reinhart argument. Is Cozens (or whatever other C) more valuable overall up the roster on wing or down the roster at C? I think we’d be better overall with Cozens (or whoever) on a featured line on the wing than centering two fourth on the depth chart wingers. We can probably pick up that center on the market and let Cozens (or whoever) play on a featured line.

I think you and I may be the only ones thinking that the coaching staff has shown enough that they are capable of leading this group of players to a Superbowl. It really was a hell of a season. I think they are stupid close to winning it all. In the end it won’t matter. We are losing at least one coordinator to a HC position.

I’m not sure any team in the league has enough wingers to pull that off. I think it is inevitable that one of those will primarily play on the wing. My guess is Cozens or Krebs, but its just a guess.

We witnessed, arguably, the best football game ever played. That was two unstoppable forces. Both of those offenses made the opposing defense look flawed. Hearns vs Hagler. Last guy to connect with a haymaker was gonna win. KC won the toss. If Allen were given the opportunity to touch the ball again they might still be playing at 7am this morning. I genuinely think we are in “be careful what you wish for” territory. The D kept this offense in the game, and the offense provided two knock out blows that would have demoralized any other QB and team in the league. KC is just marginally better. But the margin is razor thin. We are likely to lose our OC and I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose our DC as well. I don’t think we are quite as good next season with those replacements. Enjoy what you all witnessed. That was a once in a lifetime game.

At least the message is consistent.
