  1. Im not convinced they’ve ever succeeded at the second part.
  2. A couple evenings ago, my son and his wife became aware of a dog wandering the streets. I guess it was pretty obviously dumped in the neighborhood. Someone took it off the street to keep it safe, but wasn’t able to hold it. My son tracked down a rescue group that agreed to step in. He has decided to foster it, get it crate and house trained, and healed up. It has open wounds on its paws pads and appears to have some sort of skin issue/infection. If it goes well, the kids may adopt it themselves, but for now have committed to fostering it in preparation for someone to adopt it. I am proud as hell that these kids are so good hearted, but man, they have some work cut out for them. Its an adult dog that was never trained and is minimally socialized.
  3. This is the only response that makes sense.
  4. I can breathe outside. Glorious.
  5. I could see Tage moving back to C and Kulich on the wing if he falters. Probably not the same line thougj.
  6. Condensing everyone’s fears into 1 lineup: Quinn Norris Doan Benson McLeod Tage Zucker Krebs Tuch Malynspelling Danforth Greenway Dahlin Muel Power Byram Timmah! Kessel run Levi UPL Lyons lost to waivers
  7. Mike Foligno is a bigger reach than Mike Peca. 30 goals + and/or 60pts + four times in his career. He was a first line player for a good chunk of his time.
  8. Jordan Greenway .
  9. Grier is a much more reasonable expectation than Peca.
  10. You gotta consider that most players don’t hit their ceilings. We do this so often. It’s where the whole “concept of”. SS meme came from. What’s an 80% of ceiling look like? That’s much more likely.
  11. I still grimace every time I see Quinn in a mock lineup. He so needed to be packaged up for a top 6 vet.
  12. Are you predicting McKenna will be a greedy, selfish, no loyalty player because he is leaving the WHL for a paycheck like you did for Matthews?
  13. Aggregators, that’s a newly discovered species in the Central American rainforests, no?
  14. This delves into an area of significant discomfort for me. I realize they were acquitted, and that means they are free to live their lives as free men. But that doesn’t change my discomfort given the nature of the charges. If the Sabres signed any of them I would not complain. But I wouldn’t celebrate it either. I would need some getting used to time. And frankly, they would need to be model citizens for a bit before I warmed up any. Thats just me. No judgement on any else’s opinions on this. It is also dependent on what other info may come out in the future.
  15. Rule of 4 at this point. Ozzy Malcolm Jamal Warner (Cosby Show) Chuck Mangione Hulk Hogan
  16. Like I said in the Ozzy thread, another character from my past has gone.
  17. Metal is full of cartoons. The image I am using is an example, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. He didn’t have Ozzy’s fame, but he probably out punched Ozzy for living the heavy metal lifestyle.
  18. Sabres goaltending probably has the lowest floor. Probably not the lowest ceiling.
  19. I am not sure it is possible to have a conversation this nuanced on the internet and have it be productive.
  20. I think we all understand that at a minimum Tuch and Thompson are on the verge of demanding a trade if the team does not win this season. Wouldn’t be surprised if Dahlin is added to that list. I think it is fair to say the situation here has reached crisis stage. There is no data at all suggesting that Power and Quinn (at least, and an argument can be made for Benson too if he is to be used in a top 6 role) are at a point where the team can count on them to positively contribute to making the playoffs this year. Your stubbornness regarding these prospects would put this team back into teardown mode if they cannot take the next step, because it would result in us losing at least 2 of the core players on the roster. It is unnecessary risk given they are assets that could be moved for players that have proven they can perform at a playoff level. I agree with Thorny. As much as you say you dislike KA as a GM, you would operate similarly.
  21. We are outraged?
  22. I agree with this part 100%, and it is also why I am so flabbergasted by your insistence upon strictly limiting who you are willing to move to get the team winning right away. Your understanding that losing is driving players wanting to leave, and players refusing to come here, is incongruent with your stance on refusing to move certain players to drive immediate improvement.
