  1. How'd I want Buffalo to respond differs on the time of year: Season: Brawl, Evander Kane needs to grab Subban and pummel him and the other Sabres need to go after any Montreal players they can to make sure the refs can't stop all the fights. Take the penalties, and play the rest of the game with more of an edge, and any other game that season we play them. Make Price's life a living hell too. Playoffs: Closest guy goes after Subban, the rest grapple. For the rest of the series play every game with an immense physical presence, target their top skaters, especially Subban, to be drilled with clean hits as often as possible. See if you can run the goalie on "accident" a couple times just after the attack on McEichel. Make Montreal regret even touching our star. I'd even go as far as gun for their top players if the series is to be lost, (losing and in an elimination game) just to screw up their playoff victory chances.
  2. National media seems to enjoy crucifying Buffalo any chance they get. Think about it, had we not traded Miller or Vanek, the media would of went after management for being incompetent when they walked, but trading them is obvious tanking. The Sabres would of been skewered by the media regardless. They made fun of us for being soft, so we bring in some toughness and they immediately say we're thugs. 3/4ths of the media probably would love for Buffalo to just middle it forever so their precious Bruins or Leafs can thrive, or that they can get rid of Pegula so they can move the Sabres elsewhere since they hate the city. They hate that we are actually succeeding due to our calculating GM and wealthy owner who's interested in developing the area; both against what the media want. When we eventually win the Stanley Cup, if McEichel has any involvement they'll cry fowl; but we'll get to ignore them as we parade through our wondrous city heads held high, and garbed in the blue and gold. All that matters is that the NHL loves our passion and TV ratings, and at least some of the media see Buffalo for the jewel it is.
  3. If a Hodgson falls in a forest, does it make a sound? Lindback/Enroth/Neuvirth/Irbe/Hackett/Markarov Vezina worthy? Why Phaneuf should be our captain next year...
  4. McEichel better win us a Cup next year or else!
  5. Well we certainly deserve him, we beat out 3 playoff teams and a near miss in NHL Markets while fielding a 30th place finish for the 2nd year in a row.
  6. Ennis-McEichel-Kane Moulson-Reinhart-Girgs Larsson-Grigs-Gionta Deslauriers-McCormick-Foligno Here's a roster without any real changes per say I'd really like Justin Williams however due to his recent Cup Winnings, clutch play, and general skill. Forgot Larsson
  7. I've never liked Bylsma rather it be due to the whole Olympics mess or his inability to win a 2nd Cup with the All Star team he had, I've just never liked him. Babcock by far would be an awesome coach, and I agree somewhat with dej in that he'd likely get us to a Finals by Year 3. And even next year we'd likely hang around until the end or squeak in potentially. McLellan would be tied with Tippet as my 2nd choice after Babcock, both have had a lot of successful seasons and have merely been unable to get too far in the playoffs. Julien, I'm on the fence with because I can't tell if he's helping prop up the Bruins aging roster or are they propping him up.
  8. Don't look now but Regier might try to sign that squirrel
  9. This makes no sense to me to be honest, he's put up relatively good points since the half way mark of the season. While his goal production is down, he's 2nd on the team in points with a boat load of assists.
  10. Remember Chad Johnson is under contract for next year so I'd assume he'll be here. And I'd go after Niemi, let Hacket walk due to his chronic knee trouble, and let the other prospect goalies fight in the minors. None of them have truly impressed on any consistent basis thus far.
  11. We'll need to wear down their D-men, they only have 4 with legit NHL experience and 1 random guy. Finish every check, use physicality to bully the Pens into submission, after all that's generally the strategy teams use against them.
  12. Damn good, aside from the 1st verse where some of it was hard to understand, the rest was really well done.
  13. Kane-McEichel-Girgs Moulson-Reinhart-Ennis Grigs-Larsson-Gionta 44-McCormick-Foligno Risto-Bogo Gorges-Pysyk Weber-UFA Niemi Johnson Zadorov starts in AHL if possible, McCabe does as well for now. Hodgson I'm at a loss what to do with.
  14. Felt bad for Risto who had a +2 and 3a tonight but other than that, Thank God!
  15. Another thought is in the event we pick 3rd, he makes this trade, then he turns around and trades Col and the other 1st to move back up and grab whomever drops to 5-7 from the top end group after McEichel
  16. I'd have to guess this is his plan in the event we get 3rd overall in the draft. Seeing as Strome/Hanifan wouldn't be quite as useful for us with us presently having plenty of D prospects and Strome and Reinhart are too similar.
  17. Risto is really coming into his own, he really seems to be getting better game by game.
  18. I was reading one of the NHL's mock drafts and saw Marner dropping to Pick 8, do you think it'd be possible in that scenario to trade up from the late teens early 20s?
  19. Money, situation, roster spot, and a mass amount of other factors measure into rather or not they want to sign here or anywhere
  20. Risto is a testament to how a young player should be allowed to develop. He got a taste of the NHL, was given vet leadership and goals to accomplish in the AHL, brought back near the season's end to get a status gauge. Then see if over the summer he embraces the NHL lifestyle or not, and in his case he certainly did. I just wish Zadorov would pick up some pointers from what Risto has learned over the past 2 years. Zadorov needs to be convinced that 40 games in the AHL next year paired with a vet D-man would be beneficial to him far more than the KHL. Poor Grigo may have been ****ed up thanks to Regier and Nolan
  21. 11 to go, just lose Sabres so I can get through the rest of this season with hair on my head.
  22. I'd say GMTM isn't saying as much that he desires lottery pick over the playoffs but rather is merely stating that he doubts the team going worst to great in a year. Remember all non playoff teams have a lottery pick, and he is kind of saying he doesn't mind a lottery pick seeing as the lottery exists.
