  1. I'd guess Tachuck would be about equal to Landeskog in theory. But I understand your point, however trading a captain tends to create a shake up. Another thought is they would use 5 to grab Cyckryen they'd be acquiring their other high end Dman and Ennis is 15pts less than Landeskog. So maybe.... :) Landeskog for Lindholm? Not Buffalo related but curious
  2. I would disagree, and here's why. Supposedly the Avs ownership doesn't want to pay a lot of money in contracts. They are also supposedly going to retool if they miss the playoffs. If we retain 600k on Ennis he becomes a 4 x 4mil 45pt + guy while the 6 spots move up is important because the 5th overall may very well be able to play in the NHL next year while a 11th overall is highly unlikely too. So I guess it'd be more even at 5 + Ennis(about 13%) for Landeskog + 11 Avs would save 1.5mil and get a better prospect. Though it only makes sense if the Avs owners are truly really frugal.
  3. If we end up with 5th overall, and Colorado has 11th overall and they offer Buffalo 5 & Ennis for Landeskog, 11, and their 3rd would you take it?
  4. If they get Laine with #2 overall their line could be known as "The Terrible Twos!"
  5. 1. Maturity and I think he actually has been humbled a bit by both of their skill and ability. Remember anyone who was better than him in Winnipeg was at least 5 years older than him. Not to mention they are his first, aside from ROR, legitimate centers who are not only his equal but likely better. He no longer has to do everything by himself. Think Ennis from the few games he played this year and how he was struggling to find the median of possession and passing due to his need to personally possess the puck ultimately the last two years. Kane had to break out of about 5 or 6 years of that. 2. If we finish the season with this momentum and skill being shown by the youngsters, I don't care where we finish.
  6. The Mythbuster line lol :P Woohoo, we win! Eichel has more goals this year than years he's been alive! Reinhart with another silky pass and dusted off Vanek's old around the world deke #### You Toronto!
  7. Eichel- impression of MJ C. O'Reilly- God I'm tired Risto- Whaaaaaaaaat? While observing the replay. Reinhart-I'm conflicted, I just helped Jack get ahead of me in goals.
  8. My thoughts as well, I'm all for critical thinking and cynical opinions when "a team" calls for it. But when you go after the paying customers, then you really are crossing the line of journalism into self-righteous BS.
  9. My prediction was close in its final :) Just really happy with the win, just wish the Sabres of the 2nd/3rd would show up more often than the Sabres of the 1st. Gionta seems to like playing more after the All Star break, like last year he's racking up points.
  10. 8-2 Buffalo, Eichel plays like a man possessed and racks up 6 points 3g3a Risto and Reinhart light it up with 2g2a each and Girgs gets 1g2a
  11. Oh how I wish Lehner would of just ran out there and decked McDavid as he came in, send him home in a set of casts. Such a Buffalo way to lose, the more we change the more we stay the same. No matter what we do or try we always are doomed to play second fiddle.
  12. I'd try to get Risto to sign a 6 to 8 year deal at 6.5mil. I'm not risking a bridge deal. From there lets guess we end up with any of the players in the Top 4 (Matthews, Laine, Puja, Tachuck) and Fasching is a Sabre DraftPick-Eichel-Girgs Kane-ROR-Reinhart Foligno-Larsson-Fasching Deslauries-Schaller-Gionta Moulson Defensively we need to acquire Cam Fowler, we have Ennis, "Moulson", 2017's 1st a bunch of other picks Fowler-Risto McCabe-Bogo Gorges-Pysyk Franson? I'd really rather not tie up money in Yandle who is very one dimensional.
  13. GMTM didn't injure ROR, whose still 1st at the moment, and McGinn was 5th on the team in scoring, not 1st. By the way it sounds McGinn wants to test the UFA market and I can't say I wouldn't in his position. So we got an asset for him, he may or may not comeback, but a 3rd/2nd is far better than keeping a player for 20 garbage games.
  14. 'Wet dreams are made of these, Taylor Hall and Eberleeeee' They'll cost you prospects and draft picks, and everyone may be looking for one Some of them have 1st rounders Some of them have many 2nds too Some of them have young Dmen Like Vatanen and Lindholm too Ooh ooooohhoohhooh
  15. Yak's definitely not the type of player I'd take a shot with, he's been the stereotypical lazy Russian thus far in his career. He's extremely inconsistent, and thus doesn't have the points to justify dealing with his shortfalls. What's with trading Girgs all the time now?
  16. Just to add look at Eichel and Reinhart's decrease in effectiveness since ROR's been out and you see exactly why Edmonton is still suffering. Never have their rookies had any protection whatsoever. I almost wonder if this continues in Edmonton a few more years if they'll ruin McDavid. Eichel can enjoy this experience for he knows in around 10 games he won't have to be the guy but rather just a guy again. He can take on pressure as he grows vs having to grow while pressured. Edmonton is what you never want to do in rebuilding a team, they effectively have thrown 1st overall after 1st overall to the wolves with little help outside a few random scrubs and their predecessors. The only legit vet they have had, that I can think of off the top of my head is Ryan Smyth. And since he wasn't similar to any of their pick's style he likely had trouble connecting to some extent. Think about our team, Eichel can go to a 48 goal scorer and Cup Winner in Gionta, a fellow American 2nd overall in Legwand, other hard workers like ROR, he's living with Moulson who while hasn't been good on the ice has at very least made Eichel's off ice life simpler in transition. Same goes with Reinhart for the most part who has certainly found a mentor in ROR specifically. Like a fragile package, they need packing peanuts or air bag thingies to ship safely, we packed our boxes with peanuts, Edmonton merely threw it in a box and hoped it would get to the destination in one piece.
  17. I have to say its a nice little deal, helps Amerks, changes the guard in Rochester and brings a native home who has some NHL potential
  18. P.A. Parenteu may have been injured tonight, hasn't come back out for 2nd and is supposedly being looked at by the medical staff.
  19. McGinn and 5th for a 2nd
  20. This trip likely screwed us in terms of trades.
  21. I wouldn't trade Bogo for Drouin. Rather keep our 1 defensive defenseman over high end lottery ticket
  22. Bogo seems to thrive as the season grows closer to the playoffs, last year he was similar in how he escalated his game. Just this time he's adding scoring. Eichel looked better than last game but still is having some difficulty with the other high-end centers of the league. Which is to be expected seeing as he's 19. Outside of about 3 lapses, we dominated our zone and kept the Sharks on the perimeter. I think the refs swallowed their whistles seeing as both teams got away with murder. +1 to the entire D corp tonight, they all looked rather good tonight. Risto was physical and played pretty solid after the goal, McCabe probably had his best game of the year, and Bogo has been playing on a different level since about Valentine's Day
