  1. I am too young to actually remember him, but I can easily see why he was so beloved. His voice was awesome in any highlights of the old Bills, may he rest in peace. Sad he's passed on, but I guess Ralph Wilson set up a team in Heaven and wanted his announcer back.
  2. Where do the Sabres finish: (8th) Eastern Conference Finals: (TBL v.s. PIT) (Game 6) Western Conference Finals: (Calgary vs ANA) (Game 7) Stanley Cup Finals: (Calgary vs TBL) Stanley Cup Winners: (TBL) Rocket Richard Trophy: (Ovechkin) Hart Trophy: (Crosby) Vezina Trophy: (Price) Norris (defenseman): (Hedman) Jack Adams (coach): (Bylsma) (Sabres go from 30th to 15th, and go 7 games with Montreal who is then swept by TBL) Calder Trophy: (Eichel) Bonus: Who will be the biggest name moved during the season? Eric Staal Bonus: How many Buffalo Sabres participate in the All Star Game? (4: Eichel, Kane, O'Reilly, Girgensons) Girgensons gets the Latvian backing 2 years running thus forcing the NHL to change the fan vote system. Bonus: Biggest bounce back season by any player? (Brian Gionta, puts 25g,40a, 65pts in 75 games) (Caused by injuries to Ennis and Moulson thus he ends up on the 2nd line)
  3. 1st and 3rd I agree with, the second I still feel is being under appreciated for how it can affect the flow of a game. If you win every faceoff in your own zone, there's a good chance no offense will come from that time.
  4. Eichel, Reinhart, Girgs, O'Reilly, Kane, Ennis, Moulson It was in terms of forwards. Defense-wise, Risto, Bogo, Pysyk, and McCabe are untouchable. Granted McCabe would be "touchable" if if its a legit top pairing guy who's under 27. Moulson I just like for some unknown reason lol. Guess maybe because he's a legit Bills fan like many of us.
  5. I'm starting to have a tiny doubt we'll be able to get any good LDs by season's start. And I refuse to trade any of the Top 7.
  6. Won a Calder, reminds a tiny bit of Myers in the way he struggled but seems to be getting better again. Yet he has a bit of a dirty streak so that is an added bonus. And he's a good guy as evidenced by his friendship with the disabled boy whom he converses with very often and has kept in touch with him as he's traveled.
  7. At this point I'd be open to acquiring Del Zotto for cheap, maybe put him with Pysyk? He's only 24 and has scored more goals in a season than Franson has twice already. Plus he's pretty physical, 150 hits or so.
  8. Nope and nope. Gionta is the C until his contract ends, then he retires. We've traded our last 5 captains or so. Ott, Vanek, Pominville, Rivet(was released), Campbell(was captain for a month)
  9. Maybe Larsson and a 3rd gets us Weircioch? I'm completely unsure of their respective value to be honest.
  10. If he is sentenced to anything that may hurt him playing 82 games next year then we are honestly cursed to forever lack championships
  11. Was there a jump scare or something, it sounds like she had the scared right out of her.....
  12. Eichel looked as he during the world championships toward the beginning. I think the start of the season will be a lot like this. However by game 10 to 15, he wi I think the start of the season will be a lot like this. However by game 10 to 15, will be far better. Reinhart looked as we had hoped he would last year. Blue had the better goaltending all night.
  13. Like Communism, the trickle down approach relies on too much wishful thinking; however it is far closer to the ideal economy where work=fair compensation, those who are successful get to enjoy said success, and few to no people are trapped in poverty. Granted some will always be since they have no interest in fixing that. However I do love Reagan, he did well in bipartisanship by what I can see, made us proud to be American, got us away from Carter's incompetence, and gave the deathblow to the USSR.
  14. The first pair isn't bad, the other 2 + 1 are questionable.
  15. It does reach them more indirectly however, in Communism it never reaches them in any way. They're dead before it reaches them. Do we need some way to help funnel some money to workers, probably but they are still better off under our system than China's. Honestly I'd redo the tax code, cut out nearly all the loopholes, and then shave/fix the government programs to assist people but not carry them. I too dislike rich people getting taxed 6.5% after loopholes but I think fixing what we have is far more beneficial than tearing up the carpet because their is a wine stain.
  16. I'll leave it at this, China didn't actually become anything until they became more Free Market in their economy, their government control likely hurts their entrepreneurship. What comes out of China that is actually Chinese in origin, not merely manufactured there. Don't even mention the fact they build empty cities and have warehouses full of chairs because they have quotas to achieve regardless of demand. No, I don't aspire to that, but remember in terms of success the U.S. and China are rather close yet look how much better off we are than nearly all of the Chinese population. Our system works, it has its warts but it certainly beats the alternatives.
  17. Happiest.... why wouldn't they be, so much is merely given to them; however look at their populations: Switzerland: 7,800,000 Iceland: 300,000 Denmark: 5,500,000 Norway: 4,900,000 Finland: 5,400,000 Netherlands 16,600,000 Sweden: 9,400,000 Canada: 35,160,000 Total: 85,060,000 US Population: 316,500,000 All those countries barely equal more than a 1/4th of the US population. Also don't forget all the other Socialist European countries that are utter failures or on the verge of complete chaos Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal Entitling people endless perks only makes them expect it, just look at Greece. Greece is literally sapping money from the German people and I highly doubt Germans are all to fond of it. We fought Communism for 50 years, yet the USSR falls and Socialism has since been far more successful poisoning the minds of the NATO backing nations. Can Socialism have some good ideas, sure; but that doesn't mean we should just jump on board. The only way we can continue, at least, our tenuous position at the top of the world is to stay the course while making adjustments. China has overtaken all of Europe's economies for a reason, they have a mass quantity of "expendable" people and human rights are merely a word written in a few Western books allowed there. Maybe I'm just old school, but I just don't trust self-avowed Socialists, especially from Vermont.
  18. As long as we don't overpay that would be either be the greatest inadvertent/purposeful signing to cause a trade which helps said signer in NHL history
  19. It may not be popular but I honestly feel Bernie Sanders is an enemy of our great nation. Do we have problems, yes; but Socialism is little different from Communism and I might sound like a 1950's McCarthyist but Communists are still the enemy. I've read plenty of history to know how sinister they are. It honestly scares me how much support he's getting.
  20. I had a dream last night we made it to the playoffs just barely, upset the #2 in our division in 6 before losing in 5 to TB. It was a good dream :w00t:
  21. Great observations guys. I hope to go tomorrow and will be sure to post some observations ;) Baptiste sounds a tad cocky, hopefully his good friend Bailey will reign him in before he gets hurt due to it. A good thing to see is how excited the coaching staff seems, a happy worker, works harder. The scrimmage is going to rock with ReinhartvEichel out of the gate. Best part their rooming together.
  22. He's likely purposely trolling the crowd while also not wanting to assume he's a Sabre. I hope he wears a new number for each practice & 3v3 tournie and #100 (for that kid in Roswell Park) in the Scrimmage.
  23. Deslauriers is an emergency Dman at the NHL level nothing more, nothing less. One guy I wonder if we could acquire is Brian Campbell as a stopgap. to give McCabe another year to season. He may be 36, and he may not be a defensive mastermind but he still puts up commendable points and hasn't missed 1 game in the last 4 seasons. He still eats alot of minutes and has a Ring, one year left on his contract at about 7.2mil. He shouldn't be immensely expensive and could fill in the roll at the top D pair for 1 year I'd assume.
  24. Updated 2015-2016 Lineup Kane-O'Reilly-Ennis Moulson-Eichel-Girgensons McGinn-Reinhart-Gionta Foligno-Legwand-Deslauriers McCormick-Larsson Gorges-Risto Donovan-Bogosian Weber-Pysyk Colaiacovo Lehner Johnson We appear to have a weak left side and at very least a moderate right side.
  25. I don't think the league would announce it if not.
