Jesus, I'd pray he retires if it happens to him again. He's too good of a guy to deserve those problems long term. Not to mention I'd hope he doesn't become Tim Connelly because had he retired prior to his Toronto stint he'd likely have been remembered more as a great player who's concussions destroyed him rather than an injury prone flameout.

I'd guess Duchene just because he and Roy seem at odds. Maybe we can send them Pysyk, 10th overall, and a 2017 2nd for him :) Afterall we got O'Reilly cheap. If that worked, it'd be rather ironic wouldn't it. Seeing as O'Reilly and Duchene had a falling out due to the contract stuff then eventually made up briefly before ROR left. Granted I'd rather use the pick(being higher) or acquire a #2 Dman for Risto

Maybe before the opener next year, Gionta gives ROR the C and takes ROR's A, thus effectively passing the torch onto the next group. Then he can lead still but enjoy what would likely be his last NHL season

To those disappointed by a win, as much as I would love a high pick, we are no longer fielding a bunch of nobodies, at least half the team is a part of the future and I'd rather see them show signs of progress than stagnate. These aren't garbage wins pulled off by Gionta and Lindback, these are quality ones brought about from ROR, Eichel, Reinhart, Larsson, etc all of whom will be on this team 2 to 3 years from now most likely.

It varies on rather or not they feel Schaller is ready and rather or not we are able to pick up a high end player thus pushing players down the depth chart. I pray he retires because I'd hire him to be a coach or adviser in a heartbeat. Plus is it just me or does Legwand suddenly look like he plays 5 years younger on the PK, he looks quicker, his stick is more active, and he seems more offensively competent while on the PK.

Woohoo another W in the bank. ROR is worth every penny we spent on his contract and trade. Eichel is still a rookie, he still screws up, but he also makes amazing plays and when he does screw up he tends to work his ass off to fix it. Chad Johnson is the epitome of a Startup/Backer goalie, Higher end backup for sure and an average to above average starter. Sign him for 2 years to play with Lehner, I'd feel confident that even if Lehner gets injured we aren't instantly screwed. I think Girgs needs to just dive and kneel around pucks in the other team's zone; he scores more often from anything but his feet. I hope Moulson can get going a little now so he has some confidence in the offseason. Legwand was definitely a blessing in disguise, and a freaking great PK guy.

I remember them ruling against Buffalo for a similar event earlier this season where McCabe kinda pushed the player into the goalie and they ruled it a goal because of it. In this case they ruled it no goal for the same amount of a shove. Completely Curb stomp the Leafs Buffalo, I'm haddit with these refs and the Leafs. Decapitate Kadri while you're at it.... -
In theory if the Oilers continue to wade in filth I could see him demanding a trade by Year 3's offseason. If I put up 1ppg for 3 years straight and got nothing from it I'd be rather ticked.

If Nelson can be a better skating Franson on the 3rd pairing I'd say its a great grab. It was great seeing them win in from behind fashion with the youngsters leading the charge. The hitting seemed to really pick up after his shift on the 1st PP of the game, he was cheap shot by the WPG player away from the play and looked noticeably slower the rest of that shift, but threw three hits it seemed. i can always appreciate a mean streak in a skilled player. Reinhart's streak is more subtle, he doesn't show anger thus angering the other team's guy even further. Then he picks them apart with a pass or solid stick work. He could very well become the enforcer of the mind. Just knocking opposing players off their game by playing so level headed and smart that they get aggravated thus making them more prone to screwing up. -
I actually sort of agree with the quote to be honest. The bolded are part of the problem in the West.

I hope he's alright, in theory he should be ok based on his job.

Steven Stamkos stays in Tampa Bay, 8.5mil x 8yrs
thewookie1 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Ovi, yes because he's also a hitter. Kane is probably Stamkos's best comparison in terms of dimensions. -
I'm furious when they lose, yet ok with it within a couple days. Aside from the Columbus game, which I'm going too they can go about 500 and I'd be happy.

I think Fasching is on the Sabres starting lineup at latest by Saturday. I'd put him with O'Reilly and move Kane back to the Eichel line while Girgs and Fasching play with ROR. I'd try Fasching with R & E near the end like the final couple games.

Dan Bylsma new Sabres head coach (now official!)

Probably the biggest jump I've ever seen in a PK; going from inept to legit in about a month. -
I honestly doubt that, they may blow up their team again according to TSN with only McDavid and Drasital not on the list. Maybe? Taylor Hall seems fed up, and I could see McDavid being angry if he continues his 1+ ppg with a team that can't make the playoffs. I could see him signing an offer sheet at least. If McDavid = Crosby, then I'd worry for his ability to win Cups. Pittsburgh's downfall has been their incompetence in filling out their roster and expecting Crosby to carry that team. Edmonton has shown no difference in terms of just throwing trash around their stars and expecting it to work. Buffalo has brought in players around Eichel to insulate his early years and support him afterwards, Edmonton doesn't have a ROR and their closest thing to Kane is Kassian. Not to mention they have drafted the same player every year with varying skill aside from Nurse and Draisital. McDavid > Hall > RNH > Eberle > Yakopov, and not one of them plays any differently in style. McDavid's a wonder child and Hall is elite, RNH is a mixed bag due to injury history but does play D some and the other two don't know what backchecking is.

He needs to go to the dentist more often, what ever he was on afterward made him sound very good on WGR. Maybe he's nervous and the laughing gas made him not feel those nerves? Glad to see his life seems good, he comes off as a teddy bear deep down. Maybe his son will be a skilled NHLER like Domi's kid
-
Nash's contract would come up concurrent with Eichel and Reinhart's ELCs. As long as the price to acquire him is smaller I'd like the pick up. Likely a better investment than Stamkos in terms of the long term protection of our home grown studs. Not to mention if he's still ok in 2 years, we may be able to resign him at a cheaper rate.

Who finishes the season with more points... O'Reilly or Eichel?
thewookie1 replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
Eichel, mainly because O'Reilly is coming off an injury and will take some time to get his groove back most likely. -
If I had money I'd jump on it, but I'm a poor just out of college student
-
C O'Reilly/Girgs have sorta both filled the 2nd line role
