  1. If we get O'Reilly, I would probably want to trade Ennis then for a bigger winger, not a power forward but someone with size. Like a younger Hecht like player for the 3rd line. Vanek-Hodgson-Pommers Foligno-O'Reilly-Armia(next year) Ott-Grigo-Younger Hecht like player(back when he was a quality two way forward rather than a defensive forward) Kaleta-Porter-Tropp
  2. I'd work hard on getting rid of about half the team in order to force a culture shift. Sekera Leopold Stafford Gerbe Hecht Leino Adam Enroth Making the roster look like this Vanek-Hodgson-Pommers Foligno-Ennis- ???? Ott- Grigo- ???? Kaleta-????-???? Ott has the ability fit on lines 3 and 4, or 2 if need be + Faceoff guy If we get Getzlaf or another center Ennis can move back to wing If Grigo proves himself Ennis can move to wing Pommers technically could be moved but would need to gain us a Top 3 forward Players like Armia or other gained players have ample rankings open Myers-Regehr Ehrhoff-Sulzer McNabb-Weber Brennan Myers shouldn't be traded unless deemed hopeless and gets us large return Regehr will likely retire within a few years and be replaced by an AHL prospect we have Miller ???? Reliable Backup and/or Miller's successor
  3. Will Darcy keep Ruff in the system? I'm just wondering seeing as they never said he wasn't going to be some sort of advisor.
  4. Could Stafford going to the 4th line be a precursor to some sort of move with him?
  5. Stats update: Hodgson 7g, 7a, 14 pts in 16 games Sulzer 3g, 1a, 4 pts in 14 games Kassian 5g, 2a, 7 pts in 14 games For those who complain Hodgson is being inflated due to his linemates, remember that Kassian was with the Sedin's for almost all his goals.
  6. adater ‏@adater Avs do not want another center for O'Reilly. Want an offensive D-man or proven forward/plus pick T.J. Brennan & a 2nd Rounder for O'Reilly ??
  7. Though I give any of Eklund's trade rumors very little legitimacy; his recent post about the Sabres made me interested. I would love Iginla...... maybe 4 years ago. I don't want us spending tons of players on a rental player. Evander Kane, that is an interesting notion seeing as that would give us that ever important 2nd or 3rd power forward along with the fact that Kane has actually had some problems with Winnipeg in general.
  8. Brad, not Mike. Who are the 1st line Centers then? Kopitar B. Richards D. Roy ;)
  9. I don't care if ROR is good, I wouldn't trade Foligno unless were getting a #1 C like Statsny or Richards in return.
  10. Come on DR, at least talk about the idea..... do something, please, we beg of you, do something smart.
  11. Were we doing better, I would send a 5mil offer sheet his way, but I fear us getting a Top 5 pick. I would much rather offer them Stafford with 15% payoff (He's still a former 30 goal scorer, the Avs have 1 30 goal scorer + it would give them 3 20g 40pt+ Wingers) along with a D prospect maybe a 2/3rd rounder for ROR and a conditional 1st rounder. Then we could have a 2nd line of Foligno-O'Reilly-Ennis Sign him at 4 million for 5 years or something like that. Remember Hodgson will be watching what he gets.
  12. Ennis & D-Prospect for ROR and some sort of depth player. + Compensation if he doesn't sign/doesn't get 20 goals next season of the following year's 1st.
  13. Malkin would be my choice; he is both around the same skill wise as Crosby (Crosby lost some due to his injuries, he has weaknesses now) and Malkin isn't a complete pansy.
  14. Haha, that must of been a real joy to drive in. ...... Watched a student at Canisius walk in front of a truck then procede to walk up the road, not across, and foce the truck to sit another light.
  15. You guys sorely under-appreciate our players so I am not surprised....... Adam still has potential to be a very good Center and showed that last year at the beginning of the season. He has been cold since, but a change of scenery and coaching may be what he needs. Stafford isn't a terrible player, he's just not a star especially made worse by Ruff's system at times. A 2nd Rounder isn't anything to laugh at. Maybe Dustin Brown is a little lofty, but if he were not C, it might be closer. Seing as if their season continues like this, they will need to put the blame on someone. If not the coach.
  16. It would work seeing as LA needs another Center in their system and would give a potential 30 goal scorer for Richards and Carter to play with. We traded Ruff as a C, they traded Gretsky, is Brown untouchable.......
  17. The Brown trade was supposed to be Stafford and 2nd/3rd round and Adam, not or Leo could still fetch a 2nd if we were damn lucky (Gaustad style) Brown is the C, if they trade him it would make the other players feel no one is excusable.
  18. You are GM, what do you do? Remember though, you can't just trade away all the stars for the obvious reason "fans". You have the rest of this season and next to rebuild and retool. By 2014-2015, we want a cup or at least a great playoff appearance. 1. Work out a deal with the LAK to send Stafford and 2nd/3rd round pick or Adam there for Dustin Brown. (Both teams are struggling, and need something to wake up their teams. Plus both were talked about last year.) 2. 3rd/4th round pick for Tallinder (He may be somewhat injury-prone now but he's still a solid D-Man and may help get Myers out of whatever sort of problem he has.) 3. Leopold for a 2nd or 3rd rounder, being sure to stress last year's play. (A few teams are very D-deficient still like Detroit) 4. Probe the market for Gerbe, Enroth, Sekera, and Ennis's values. Offseason 5. Finish season, if Ruff still can't turn the team around with all the new moves, fire him. 6. Hire Patrick Roy or Randy Cunneyworth. Maybe get them both 1 as HC and the other as AC. Let the HC decide what to do with the rest of the coaching staff. 7. Unload Gerbe for a 3rd/4th round pick. 8. Jump in on the Ryan Getzlaf FA fiasco and work hard to get 1 of them. 9. Trade Ennis for a vet C with some gas in the tank still and a couple picks. 10. If Leino doesn't play at all, hold him until next year. 11. Resign Regehr for lower contract unless he wishes to retire. Resign Sulzer to about the same deal as this year abiet maybe slightly more money. Intended Lines 13-14 (With Getzlaf) FORWARDS Thomas Vanek ($7.143m) / Cody Hodgson ($2.750m) / Jason Pominville ($5.300m) Marcus Foligno ($0.900m) / Ryan Getzlaf ($5.325m) / Dustin Brown ($3.175m) Steve Ott ($2.950m) / Mikhail Grigorenko ($1.775m) / Ville Leino ($4.500m) Patrick Kaleta ($1.250m) / Cody McCormick ($1.200m) / Corey Tropp ($0.701m) Jochen Hecht ($1.250m) / DEFENSEMEN Tyler Myers ($5.500m) / Henrik Tallinder ($3.038m—10.0%) Christian Ehrhoff ($4.000m) / Alexander Sulzer ($1.125m) Mike Weber ($1.200m) / Robyn Regehr ($3.020m) T.J. Brennan ($0.805m) / GOALTENDERS Ryan Miller ($6.250m) David Leggio ($0.650m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $62,955,857; BONUSES: $850,000 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $2,194,143
  19. I'd send a 4th Rounder to NJ for Tallinder; he has been nothing special for them and it woud allow them to unload some salary.
  20. My exact thoughts, the Ottawa player covered up the puck. Isn't that supposed to be a delay of game?
  21. Terrible play by Enroth Myers started bad, but after that one good shift with about 5min left, he looked calm and composed. With both Regehr and Erhroff out tonight, Myers must play like a #1 since we don't have 1 Foligno seems to be the only player on his line who talks on the bench. While Ennis and Stafford do their thing, Foligno pats them both on the knee and said somethings to them. Plus he stuck up for Vanek.
  22. Terrible game for us but there was a small silver-lining; Mike Weber, Christian Erhroff, and Alex Sulzer all showed great poise in a game we were blown out in. Sekera injured? Vanek continues his hot streak, the first line looked a bit stale at times but still showed bursts of skill. If I were Darcy/Ruff atm, I would do the following: Trade Leopold for a 2nd or 3rd, just get him off the team; he's brutal to watch. Bring up McNabb from the Amerks. Sit Myers for a game. Trade a 3rd rounder and Pardy to NJ for Tallinder; maybe he'll be able to get Myers out of his funk.
  23. I wouldn't say that Hodgson is the reason for the success on the 1st line but I wouldn't say Ellis would give the same result. Hodgson is still young yet still can skate with our big two without looking out of place, and can pass and shoot very well. He needs D work, but he does appear to be a help to those two due to his style of play on offense, he's a passer.
