  1. I want a vet and at least one righty
  2. I’m just expecting Okposo to slow down at some point. Otherwise I know he has chemistry with Girgs. But I wouldn’t doubt he’d get time on other lines.
  3. I’ve been plotting my ideal but realistic roster for next year and I’ve come to a bit of a road bump. I neither want to pencil Krebs, Quinn and Peterka all in nor make it impossible for them to play next year. So far I have Skinner - Mitts - Tuch Asplund - Thompson - Olofsson ??? - Cozens - ??? ??? - Girgensons - Okposo Option 1: would be to stick the 3 youngsters into the 3 ???s and use the likes of R2, Bjork, and Murray as potential extras. Option 2: Go out and over pay some vet winger to a short 1 or 2 year deal to run with Cozens and leave 2 spots for youngsters and 1 either subs in or sticks in Rochester. Option 3: Sign a few JAGs and let the pieces fall as they may. Option 4: Other Just so you understand the fuller situation, my projected D would be Dahlin - Jokiharju Power - Letang on a 2x9.5mil contract Samuelsson - Bryson Pysyk As for goaltending, there isn’t much out there. Kuemper is the only competent UFA not named Campbell.
  4. Adams needs to block Rutherford's number to Karmanos; he's ours now!
  5. My sarcasm detector is in the shop at this time 🙂
  6. I hope he feels better soon; why are we so unlucky?
  7. Adams didn't know but he likely had some reservations hence the lack of major trades. Staal, to be honest was still, in theory, a great move. However, for whatever reason, Staal fell off a cliff at a far more drastic rate then anyone could of expected after his solid season and great playoffs the prior season. He threw up a Hail Mary to keep Eichel here, make the owners happy, and get the fans reinvested. On paper their lineup looked solid Hall - Eichel - Reinhart Olofsson - Staal - Skinner Girgs - Eakin - Thompson etc. etc... not perfect but had legitimate potential. In a way I also sense that he looked into goalies but between his cap constraints and the price via trade it was untenable. So his hope was for Ullmark to play 35 to 45 games, and Hutton or UPL to start the remaining 11 to 21 games with at very least passable stats. Instead Eichel got hurt pre-season, Hutton's play actually got worse, Ullmark got hurt twice, we went through 6 goalies (a 7th on the bench) and ever perceivable worst case scenario played out with the acquisitions. Staal became old, Hall stopped trying after a short period of games, Eakin didn't even give replacement level play and Krueger, a noted inspirational speaker, completely lost the team. Not to mention one of the heart and soul players in Girgensons got hurt in the team scrimmage prior to the season.
  8. We either have zero luck or bad luck; we played well enough to win yet we didn't get the bounces. The shootout summed it up rather nicely I'd say. UPL looked good for a back to back start
  9. Muchos Wonderbar
  10. Should of been 9 at least
  11. UPL could end up like BInnington who has good NHL numbers but subpar AHL numbers for whatever reason.
  12. I doubt Power goes to Rochester, but who knows.
  13. https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/disallowed-sabres-goal-wasnt-offside.2859631/page-2 A bit of ways down Valet has a Blackhawks goal with the same circumstances that was ruled a good goal. Check that video I just pointed out
  14. Would that not be based on what the linesman deems then? It sounds very gray area-ish. Clearly the league loves to crack down on the rules by the book when Buffalo gets hurt by it but when do we ever get the benefit of the league?
  15. Biron had a better picture that clearly shows the play being onside
  16. Olofsson pushed the puck over the line from behind the line. He doesn't touch it again until Dahlin has actually reached the blueline. In that case it would be inconclusive and thus a good goal as that was the call on the ice.
  17. Yup, I even after picture evidence, the Sabres should issue a general complaint to the NHL seeing as it was the league office not the refs who made the call.
  18. He was onsides, look
  19. To be honest perhaps Adams will stay GM in order to be a figure head and media guy whereas Karmanos takes care of the more GM work without the stress of media scrutiny.
  20. Not a great start but the first 2/3rds of last year were more on Krueger than Adams
  21. Regier: Girgs Murray: Okposo Olofsson Asplund Botterill: Thompson Mitts Dahlin Miller Skinner Jokiharju Bryson UPL Cozens Murray Adams: Cagguila Butcher Hinostroza Hayden Anderson Dell Tokarski Subban Tuch Hagg *Pysyk* Bjork Eakin
  22. Pretty much this, I expect him to augment this team this upcoming offseason; for instance getting a competent pair of goalies to at very least carry us to our next goalie. And bringing in a vet Dman who can mentor Power, Dahlin, etc. (Letang would be my preference, give 2x9mil) Then compete for the playoffs; I doubt we'd make it but I want a competitive team akin to Detroit this year.
  23. Technically, there's a good chance both asked for more money than what they received on their 1 year deals, and would of prevented us from signing Taylor Hall. We know how much of a failure Hall was but at the time it seemed to be a pretty solid risk - reward to get the team to playoff contention. Ullmark signed for 1x2.6mil before last season. His minimum would of been rather close to his contract he got this year. So lets say 4.85mil for 4 years. Reinhart signed 1x5.2mil for last season. His multiyear contract was assumed to be akin to 5 to 7 years at around 7mil. (Florida taxes brought it down to 6.5 mil) That would be 4.05 mil in additional cap we would of had to find. As of Nov 1st last year we had just shy of 3.5mil in cap space. Unless we could of got Hall at a cheaper price, fans would of rioted had we extended Ullmark and Reinhart and made the Staal trade without anything else.
  24. I guess the best way to describe it would be a soft internal cap; I don't feel that Adams wouldn't be allowed to spend on making the team better. Only the Pegulas don't wish to spend money for spending money's sake.
