  1. It was a $250 night, but taking my dad to see Red Sox - Blue Jays in a stadium that small is an experience I'll never forget.
  2. This showed up in my email and I thought some of you might be interested: The Bisons are home through Sunday with some of the Summer’s biggest events, highlighted by Saturday’s Hockey Night at the Ballpark in collaboration with the Buffalo Sabres. Legendary winger Danny Gare has the ceremonial first pitch and greats Marty Biron & Rhett Warrener will be part of a pregame Autograph Session. There will be a Hockey Night Jersey Raffle of the game-worn & signed Bisons player jerseys, Sabres Giveaways Every Inning, and of course an appearance by Sabretooth! This weekend also includes a Honda fridaynightbash!® with Fireworks that is also Obscure Jersey Night where you can win prizes when you wear that odd, outdated sports jersey you own. Sunday’s Back 2 School & Carnival Day will include a Pop-It Giveaway, 10+ Inflatables and postgame Kids Run the Bases! Summer weekends don’t get any better than this. We’ll see you at the ballpark!!!
  3. Ok, I can see where different tastes might lead you to the first four on the list...but COLUMBUS?! Do strip malls and laminated menus really excite you that much?
  4. Montreal -- who doesn't want a chance to play with Montreal? Vancouver -- I hear it's beautiful. Chicago -- I don't like the idea that the Blackhawks are seventh in popularity out of six major league teams there, but I do love that city. Minnesota--seems like St. Paul would be a cool place. Good fans. Colorado--Inoffensive enough.
  5. Just screwing around, sorry. But "I ever have met" would be the correct construction IMO. Or "I have met, ever."
  6. I e'er h'met.
  7. They're not worried about the price of the stadium. The profit in sports team ownership is in the appreciation and not in the revenue. I feel like we've covered this ground before.
  8. She will have the easiest opportunities at the US and Aussie Opens (see my comments in The Other Sports Thread). Wimbledon will always be tough for Americans--you need to be on a Williams/Sampras level to win there because we don't have many grass courts here anymore. Same goes for clay at Roland Garros.
  9. Did you not understand my last sentence? And I have grave doubts that you were banned because of a Guardian article about Ilhan Omar. In any event, I did give you several chances to discuss it here, you've stumbled, fumbled, and dissembled, and, as I said, I'm not doing it anymore.
  10. You're being evasive and screwing around (I have asked FOUR times now), and I don't have time for it. I know what my standards are for that club, and if it was an article from the NY Post or WSJ, it wouldn't have gotten you banned. It likely was something from some weird source with some weird conspiracy theory. If you want to discuss it seriously, you're welcome to do so--over PM. I'm not doing this game-playing here.
  11. I'm sure I KNEW, which is different than presently KNOWING. It likely was years ago; you likely deserved it. Again, answer my question, please. Most of the people removed were removed because of conspiracy theories--did you post one?
  12. Again: Did you post some weird conspiracy theory that got you kicked out? I'm far from certain that it's the answer, but it is interesting.
  13. It was a response to your question, so what, specifically, are you talking about? Did you post some weird conspiracy theory that got you kicked out?
  14. I will never accept people who post unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, if that is what you are referring to. Not welcome. Whether it's the Moon landing, the 2020 election, COVID, the Templars, or the Jews or the whatever, I'm not having it there. Ya dig?
  15. We know your biases, bud. It's way, WAAAYYY too late to try to conceal them through very transparent questions like this. Ah-gain, as for years, I ask you to step away.
  16. @inkman tomorrow: "People who stand in a restaurant doorway for ten minutes to say goodbye instead of saying goodbye at the table." Sunday? "People who go to the spot at the bar where there's already a drink because someone's in a bathroom, rather than the four spots next to it which are empty." Frankly, the second category are probably the children of the first, from what I've seen. Monday, I think he's gonna blow up a fast-food restaurant.
  17. Did he have an anal probe? This reveals the disingenuity (if your prior manifesto didn't).
  18. Gotta consider the source... I, too, could counter it with a lot of well-researched rebuttal, I'm just not doing it.
  19. There's so much I want to say about this but it's probably not the right place for it. I'll just say that I think we can do better than Anglo-American style unregulated capitalism. Rhine capitalism and distributism are interesting to me. Henry Ford knew that he needed to pay his line workers enough that they could afford a new car. I'm not so sure that's the way anymore. Oh, and if the aliens ever find us, we're dinner.
  20. Fine but what does this have to do with governmental UFO coverups?
  21. I just move their carts.
  22. The first car has no need to do that and generally shouldn't. I am 99% certain that the City of Buffalo does not have multiple sensors. We can barely afford a single one, and that's not at most intersections. I definitely do not drive under the speed limit. I'm a 79 on the Thruway and a 40 on a city street. I'm not proud, mind you, but I'm not slow, either. I find that I'm more relaxed behind the wheel when I'm at a light if I give myself some distance to see the world and some room to let other drivers be idiots, though. So that's what I do. If you drive Uber, you've probably driven me!
