Rasmus Dahlin Named to Sweden's Preliminary Olympic Roster
Eleven replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I never understand your sports. Olympics: Four countries, but you call yourselves GB and not UK. Cricket: England and Wales are together but the others are separate. Soccer: All of them are separate. Some other sports: Ireland and NI are a unified team, but GB is still split into three. Can you get your king or minister of magic or whatever to fix this? It is confusing. -
ABC is showing the United Football League final. It's the DC Defenders against the Michigan Panthers. On ABC. TNT is showing Game 5.

Well, that, and he called the owner a country, but without a tree.

I know that draft day is Christmas for you, and I think that's cool, but they need to trade the pick.

In five years.

Does anyone like the idea of Brendan Shanahan

It's easy. He worked for Toronto so he must be good. Just like John Ferguson Jr. -

Terry and his meddling... -
Yes. And it's impossible to renovate every year and remain the best. Anyone who's watched the Dahlin tour video knows that the facility is hardly subpar even today.

Yeah I'm not sure how Benson is connected here...I must be missing something.
-
Nah. He's a bust. He wouldn't make this team, either. He always was going to be a bust.

Speaking of whom, @SDS should be getting nervous. https://www.sabrespace.com/community/topic/32104-rd-1-pick-9-matthew-savoie-c/#findComment-1508001

***** pull it together, Liger. Geez. -
It's not whether it's more powerful. It's whether it's more appropriate for the Black players to rely on whitey to get their messages across, and I think the answer to that question is NO. They felt hurt because of racial prejudices and I think it would be natural for them to want someone who looks like them, who had their experiences, to be their face and voice. The face and voice of the 1960s civil rights movement was King, not Johnson and not White people in power.

Thanks guys. Seems like a tempest in a teapot here.

Except that only considers one of the two problems the league had at the time: 1. There were a lot of players who were hurting because of racial injustice. They needed a face and a voice because Kaepernick had been blackballed by the league (and I'm still angry about that). 2. There was a sitting president who was criticizing the league and turning eyeballs off of screens. A Black spokesperson is an attempt to address both issues. That gives the people who are hurting a face and a voice, and also allows the league to respond to the president.

Can someone explain what is going on with Babcock?

I just want to note that I'm not here to rub salt...I just wanted to post what I had heard from Peters. He's no more reliable than Chad is, IMO.
