  1. Thanks for taking the time to find the Niner roster info. Looks like 3 or 4 depending on who else he has on O. For instance, what if the Bills decide to keep two FBs this year in Felton and Connor and still value their TEs? Even less room for RBs who can't add value on STs. Roman is innovative for sure. Five TEs one year and only a couple the next. I think he takes the best talent and finds ways to use it. If he has better TEs he uses them; better RBs he uses them instead. He's used formations with 4 OTs on the field at one time as well. The more I think about it, the more I have no clue who he's gonna favor. But given the long looks the TEs have gotten this summer, I lean towards more of them and less RBs. Just a hunch, nothing more. GO BILLS!!!
  2. Seattle had a 2nd and goal from the 1 when Wilson threw the INT. Totally different circumstance than the "4th and goal from the 2 or 3 for the win" as described above. Everything is easy in retrospect, but Seattle didn't give Wilson many options on that play. Hell, they didn't even attempt a play action pass, never mind an option play. NE* would still be biting on a play fake to Lynch down there. GO BILLS!!!
  3. This assumes Freddy would have been amenable to restructuring at this stage, but I don't think it was strictly a question of dollars. I think this staff would have considered releasing him regardless, imo. They wanted to do it last March. He was limited by injury and didn't get the reps others used to make an impression. Karlos Williams and Boobie Dixon (especially) are special team mainstays. Bryce Brown has better wheels. But I'm not sure he survives final cuts, anyway. I've been trying to gauge where Roman might place more value. In camp and as seen with the Niners, he places a premium on TEs to implement his schemes. With the emergence of Gragg and Gray, he may want to carry only three RBs. That leaves McCoy and two backups who have high value as STers. If all goes according to plan, the backup RB isn't going to see much time in this offense. Yes, injuries happen and that may bite us in the ass later on, but that is where the guys who are here have to step up and make us not wish we had a Freddy to plug in. It's a gamble to some extent, but not unreasonable and nothing out of the ordinary. GO BILLS!!!
  4. 10 lbs of added muscle over the summer? 205 lbs. with lower body fat? This guy is a beast! He's also mature beyond his years. Can't wait to see him get started. Thanks for the link. GO SABRES!!!
  5. I'm not sure anybody gets the ball in that scenario. Not a typical running situation and for good reason. Gotta give your QB some options there. GO BILLS!!! I think it's a question of practicality sometimes. It's a cold reality, but 34 year old backup running backs who have lost a step getting $2.5m on a team with several key players to re-sign, may not provide the value to justify keeping him over someone else at a salary more conducive to that role. Don't be surprised if they cut Cassell for the same reasons. GO BILLS!!!
  6. My biggest worry as well. When I went to the Panthers game and watched him, I was worried that he was too quick to leave the pocket when he had guys running open downfield. But the last two, coupled with some reports from camp, have convinced me he can make a living in the pocket. I can't overstate how much that part of his game has evolved since VT and how important it is for him to achieve his potential. Very happy for the kid to get the opportunity. GO BILLS!!!
  7. Father time remains undefeated. Reactions are remindful of those when we said good-bye to Thurman, Andre, Henry, and so many others over the years. I wish Freddy all the best wherever he ends up. He will be brought back into the organization at some point. But in the meantime, thanks for being one of the all time Bills greats, Freddy. GO BILLS!!!
  8. I appreciate the info on all the QB prospects, but just to clarify a point about "grades", nobody in the scouting community is close to grading anyone at this point. That process began in May and won't be concluded until next April. That is not a slam on the talking heads who are paid to fill media space for their projections at this point, just a point of clarification that I feel should be mentioned. GO BILLS!!!
  9. Taylor is not the same QB he was in college. His previous four years in the league, spent learning to play between the tackles, has informed his game. I couldn't be more impressed with his game today. I think it's his job to lose. I would be shocked if EJ got traded at this juncture. He is finally benefitting from pro coaching and is far more valuable as a #2 than Meh Cassell. Nice job of coaching by RR to let him come back and end a great day on a positive note. No way he gets traded at this juncture. Greg Roman makes all the difference in the world. Unless they work some issues out before the opener, I think Rex's scheming will be negatively impacted by not having CBs that can hold their own in press man. We saw how handcuffed he was last year in NY for the same reason. Darby is in for a long season; his technique is atrocious and the better QBs will eat him alive I'm afraid. GO BILLS!!!
  10. All I need to know about Bogo was answered in his first game with us after the trade. In that one game, ONE GAME, Bogo equaled 25% of Meyers' hit totals for the entire season at that point. ONE GAME! GO SABRES!!!
  11. At the risk of drawing Eleven's ire, if you don't think Romo is a good QB, you simply haven't been paying attention. GO BILLS!!!
  12. Got that right. The least of the candidates, even the one that bows out first, will walk away with millions of dollars just for waging a campaign. NONE, repeat NONE, of the money raised by them is returned. It is all theirs to keep. Nice work if you can get it.
  13. We should all consider that last sentence very carefully.
  14. I literally laughed to the point of tears when I read this! Great stuff and much appreciated for the endorphins released.
  15. I'd be more inclined to go along with this line of thinking if there wasn't such strong evidence suggesting plans for invading Iraq were on the drawing board long before 9/11.
  16. There were thousands of dissenting voices leading up to that travesty. Only a few of which were our political leaders. As for prescience, there were many prominent voices across a large spectrum of disciplines, including military brass, that predicted the outcome. Invading Iraq was on the neo-con drawing board of Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, and Cheney for several years before W was ever elected. Had little to do with Carter Doctrine.
  17. Some of us were protesting as the drumbeats grew louder as it was the dumbest, most unnecessary war in our history that also succeeded in taking the heat of of Bin Laden, the true enemy. But it secured the flow of oil through US control to this day, so there's that. After Cheney's report on energy security in 2001, there was nothing that was gonna stop us from silencing Hussein's rhetoric about pegging oil to the euro, etc. Masterfully played.
  18. This post really pissed me off until I agreed with it.
  19. See my earlier reply to Taro. I was referring to subsequent acts.
  20. This thread has taken a turn towards the bizarre. I will bow out with simply, What spndnchz said. Nothing hypothetical about that.
  21. I was referring to subsequent acts. It has to be consensual every time. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.
  22. Common sense should indicate that when a person decides not to have sex but doesn't indicate that to their partner, then that person really hasn't decided not to have sex. I find the argument specious as it strains credulity to think that most people who have decided not to have sex with someone don't make it abundantly clear to the other person. Are there exceptions? As with anything, yes, I'm sure there are. I just don't put much stock in exception proves the rule types of arguments.
  23. You answered your own question. The advancement stops when she decides she doesn't want to have sex. Period. Doesn't matter how far along in the act they were. Once it is not consensual, it is game over. That could be before, during, or after intercourse, by the way. That should be obvious to a gentleman with an ounce of moral fiber that doesn't let his d ick do his thinking for him.
  24. It really is that simple. But let's make it about a level of sexual excitement that causes us to lose our humanity because, damn-it!, I had reached a point of no return and that bitch owed me! Rape has little to nothing to do with sex. It's about power and imposing your will upon someone.
  25. Loved his segment on televangelists last Sunday night. He even started his own church to make the point. Great stuff. His segment on standardized testing in schools was spot on as well.
