  1. Did you remember to grab the cannolis?
  2. I'm pretty sure MLK was never a suburban white kid. Money made available in wider circles and not horded in too few.
  3. This will tweak some Friedmanites in the audience, but it is true. Bottom line is there are a limited number of dollars in the pool and they are controlled by far too few people to have any lasting impact on the economy. When more people have access to more of those dollars, the economy booms. This has been shown several times in our history.
  4. LaFontaine might still be here if he didn't wake the dead every time he lost his temper. I don't blame the man for not knowing how to play petty office politics, but going berserk isn't the way to handle it. Not in the least. Patty was out of his depth. GO SABRES!!!
  5. Nobody would have been worse than that son of a bitch.
  6. Agree entirely. How can DD state that Pysyk's presence results in superior possession numbers and then sit him? This is nothing more than a coach waiting until we lose again to make a change. Too clever by half. Or something like that. GO SABRES!!!
  7. This. I remember when McCain was gunning for the nomimation in 2000, some of his fellow Republican competitors tried to make his birth an issue as well, forgetting that naval bases are sovereign territory. As to the question of a diplomat's child born in a foreign hospital, it's a moot point. It is the same as if he were born on embassy grounds.
  8. Good stuff here. As I read your post, I pictured the EXACT Kane I've observed all season long. He brings hustle and effort to every game from what I've seen. And he is not easy to play against. He is effective if not productive. If that makes any sense. GO SABRES!!!
  9. He was "naturalized" at birth by virtue of his mother's US citizenship. That is not the same as "natural born" as the author points out. I am not and never have been a constructionist and I firmly believe the founders were not, either. Their brilliance allowed for the flexibility required as social and cultural changes occur. But damn, that precise language is a sticky wicket for constructionists like Cruz. I savor the irony in this case.
  10. Anyone who would advocate a religious litmus test to determine admissablity of refugees into our country should be disqualified from running. Ted Cruz is ineligible on that basis alone.
  11. Tim Schaller: The Matt Ellis of AHL hopefuls. GO SABRES!!!
  12. So now you include hearing someone speak and, more importantly, observing how someone acts, in determining their character. That is fair and it is what reasonable people need make a better informed determination as well. Merely looking at someone to determine their character is just not enough. Thanks for clearing that up.

    Powerball

I could somehow make due. Not false. Here's just one story on it. There are others. Powerball officials have declared an additional $2m into the cash pool since this morning. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/13/upshot/dear-powerball-winner-take-our-advice-and-take-the-annuity.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=1

    Powerball

The cash jackpot for this drawing is $932m.
  15. You don't get it at all. I don't believe anything told to me by someone so arrogant as to believe he can divine a person's character simply by looking at him. There is a word (or two) for that.
  16. I can't spare you until I know if you sink or float.
  17. Character reading just by looking at a person. Nice. I forget, does the witch float or sink?
  18. Great post. Especially the bold text. It's pathetic to me that some fans need to hope departed traded players don't do well. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Wish them well and get on with it. GO SABRES!!!
  19. Haha, Miller and Soupy keeping each other safe. GO SABRES!!! "Your pannys suck!"
  20. Aargh. Gorges and Fanson. Slow and slower. They are a half-step away from having to play with those training skate "walkers" I see down at Canal Side.
  21. Jack could really add to the maalia and syottoa totals with either one of those guys. GO SABRES!!!
  22. Rumor has it that RG3's explosion is gone. If he can commit to becoming a pocket QB, perhaps he can salvage his career. Not quite 26, so there's a chance. But he has to get his head in the playbook, study his ass off, and learn how to read defenses, and be patient in the pocket. I hope he does. GO BILLS!!!
  23. Fully understand the aspect of both going for the puck and things happen in hockey when big meets little and physics reigns. It is hockey, afterall. Was Byfuglien's elbow shot avoidable? Is it just a continuation of a "hockey" play? Could he have helped extending his elbow? It was a deliberate shot to the head. Period. A pu$$y play all the way around.
  24. I have no problem with big guys hitting little guys and I agree that players need to keep their heads on a swivel and be aware, but I draw a line when the big guy skates in, looks at the little guy, targets his head, and DELIBERATELY sticks his elbow out to hit it. There is a gif somewhere that shows this plain as day.
  25. You know damned well what I'm referring to. And your comparison to Weber's hit on Ehlers is not even close.
