  1. Goalie letting in softies. GO SABRES!!!
  2. First of all, tip of the hat to Moe-Ray-All. They are by far the best team we've seen this season and they play a beautiful game of hockey. Lest we forget, not that long ago, they were a lottery team in transition. They are an example of what happens when you acquire good young players and give them a chance to gel. They look like they've been playing together for a long time. That can be our blueprint. Chad Johnson looked tired and when a mediocre goalie gets tired, he is a disaster which I think he was tonight. I hope Ullmark can Wally Pipp his career as a starter. Girgensons is in a funk. He needs to be on Eichel's wing replacing Gionta, who hasn't contributed anything that I can see. We need Bogo back soon. Not that he was bad tonight necessarily, but I can't stand Weber's game. He's a liability. Fransen is slow as growing mold, but has a tad of offensive upside and his shot usually gets through. Best part about tonight? Reinhart and Eichel. Our two youngest. Nice. I'll be looking to see how they respond to their worst performance of the year. I know it's a second of a back to back tomorrow, but it's gut check time. This is when the O'Reilly's on the team set the example. Tomorrow is a great opportunity for this young team. GO SABRES!!!
  3. If Eichel ever gets a finisher to skate with, watch out. Every game this season he has had multiple times where he's set up a teammate for a prime chance only to have the guy whiff or not be able to anticipate on the same level. Frustrating to watch. GO SABRES!!!
  4. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GO SABRES!!!
  5. Utterly. To have observed ROR in every game this year and think he hasn't been impressive is, well, not very observant. We seem to control the puck the majority of time he is on the ice. The numbers will come as they will for Eichel and others. I like how we are playing. GO SABRES!!!
  6. Hommina, hommina, hommina!
  7. Not surprised that Larsson is sitting after his performance Thursday night. Very weak on the puck and lost several key puck battles. Not sure why Reinhart being on the top line would piss him off. GO SABRES!!!
  8. I saw that. Looks like he will be centering ROR and Ennis tomorrow against Tampa. He does a lot of little things right on the ice and I can see why DD is giving him a top line opportunity. GO SABRES!!!
  9. Is Brad May sweating through his suit yet? GO SABRES!!!
  10. (in voice of jeff spicoli) Isn't it OUR team, Mr. Hand? As his presser after the BILLS purchase suggests, no owner is more aware of the concept of owning "our" team than the Pegulas. He seems to view it as a shared community asset.
  11. Same here. If McGinn keeps this up, we have to redefine the term "throw in." The man can play. GO SABRES!!!
  12. I didn't attempt to insult anyone here. My only point is that real change only happens at the grass roots levels and requires real involvement by people committed to the cause of affecting that change. All of us have to spend less time with our devices in that regard. Good. If that gets him off our school board, I am all for it.
  13. I wish it were tongue and cheek, but what else could musichunch have been implying in his post? Not to mention the tomes written by GoDD suggesting as much in the past.
  14. Mainlinin' the Pegulacillin?! I can see that in carefully controlled medical care facilities in extreme cases, but if the Magic P ever hits the streets in that form, watch out.
  15. Will this coming of age involve the actual lifting of eyes from the electronic devices and engaging in three dimensional conversations and exchanges of ideas in settings with actual people in actual spaces?
  16. More great stuff here. GO SABRES!!!
  17. While others might imply that he bought the team as a way to deflect attention from his involvement in a pedophile's serial rape of young boys spanning decades.
  18. What are you really trying to say here?
  19. Outstanding analysis here. Eichel's maturity, personality, and character also seem to lend themselves to the cast Murray has assembled. Just a great fit. McDavid is at a huge disadvantage in that regard in Edmonton. GO SABRES!!!
  20. I don't know. When a person living in Pittsburgh has to drive to a certain bridge in the city just to be able to listen to the Sabres game on the radio, it qualifies as being a big fan in my book. GO BILLS!!!
  21. Thanks for pointing this out. Having long ago given up trying to find any positive aspects to Weber's game other than sticking up for teammates, I will begin anew by focusing on his board play. I only hope I don't miss it because I often have to close my eyes for long periods when he is on the ice and the puck is in our zone. GO SABRES!!!
  22. 26CornerBlitz posts a ton of Sabre stuff in the 'Off The Wall' forum at TBD. Very grateful to others here for doing the same. GO SABRES!!!
  23. This. Not to cast aspersions towards Nolan, but DD is just a more cerebral coach. I have seen more set plays off of face offs, regardless of zone, in three games than I saw in Teddy's entire tenure. Of course, it helps to have the horses. But it also helps to have Gary Stevens riding it vs. the stable hand who is better left to mucking the stalls. GO SABRES!!!
  24. Weber can take a seat anytime he wishes. Love his pluck, hate his game. Tough day at the office for Eichel, and I understand the criticism for the lack of effective back check on Stamkos' goal, but that goal was a fluke with a perfect carom from a pass that hit the side of the net and bounced straight onto Stamkos' stick. Chad Johnson actually made the poor play that started that sequence. His pass behind Gorges resulted in Gorges going one on two in the corner and losing the puck. GO SABRES!!!
