  1. Beyond disgusting. Please tell me again how we are not dealing with a fascist regime? Defying the courts and the rule of law is STEP ONE in the Fascist 101 playbook. MAGA scum. https://abcnews.go.com/US/whistleblower-complaint-alleges-top-doj-official-emil-bove/story?id=123167302
  2. Some history on Iran’s nuclear program with the first lesson being that it is nothing new or even recent for that matter. In the early 70s the shah, with our full support, assistance, and engineering know-how, embarked on an ambitious program to build numerous nuclear power plant facilities and we were instrumental in helping them acquire the fissionable materials required. But we and the Brits were only too eager to keep happy Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the puppet leader we installed after the 1953 coup orchestrated by the CIA and MI6. Irony of ironies.
  3. A conveniently forgotten fact by the radical right. Trump’s pulling out of that treaty singlehandedly allowed Iran to acquire vast amounts of uranium unchecked by the IAEA and the signatory nations to the treaty which was the case between the signing of the JCPOA in 2015 and 2018 when Trump pulled out of the agreement. Just an absolutely boneheaded move that undid a deal that was working. As to whether or not it Trump “did the right thing” with the bombing attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities, we won’t know the answer to that for a while. I guarantee he and his administration will continue to lie about it, regardless.
  4. Oh, it’s a hobby alright. Bordering on unhealthy addiction at times. And there’s just no replacing the thrills along the way. I’ve always been about “the journey” which is why I couldn’t resist renewing after biching and moaning for long stretches and writing them off. Maybe it would have been better to take up woodworking instead years ago. 😄
  5. The crap isn’t related to an agent doing what’s in the best interest of his client, it’s the unverifiable rumors of multi-team interest that media and fans lap up. I’m sure that’s entertainment for some and that’s fine but until it’s tangible, it’s all crap to me.
  6. I heard that as well and that's what convinced me. @PromoTheRobotand I touched upon gm/agent manipulation a while back. And when PHam mention Allan Walsh is JJ's agent that clinched my belief.
  7. I’m convinced more than ever that this is all agent-generated bullcrap when it comes to these Peterka rumors.
  8. Point well taken and I can truly appreciate that. Perhaps I’m a bit too critical of Byram, but he just hasn’t impressed me as much as I’d hoped to this point.
  9. Imo, Byram is already at his ceiling and we need better. I was ok with moving him at the deadline. I don’t buy the Peterka rumors and that said, while he has a higher ceiling, it’s that high ceiling that fetches the better asset in a trade. But his high ceiling can’t be compared to Power’s imo, because Power plays a more critical position.
  10. That contract is gonna look mighty good in a couple years. GMs also don’t like trading players with very high ceilings, too.
  11. Nor should he. We would regret it greatly in a few years because when he’s done growing and acquires his man strength, look out.
  12. I agree and appreciate your point about supporting casts as no superstar ever won anything on his own. That said and regarding Jordan and the Bulls, the fact he won the first three with a different starting five than the last three suggests to me that Jordan was less dependent on his supporting casts than his supporting casts were on him. That said, Phil Jackson’s importance as coach cannot be overstated either as his teams did well even without Jordan for the nearly two full seasons Jordan sat out. Apologies to the thread for the digression into an NBA discussion.
  13. Hegseth admitting to having contingency plans for invasion is just one indication. The first clues were laid bare when the director of the NSA was fired and the longtime deputy director resigned. Since then, every intelligence agency has been ramping up spying efforts on Greenland as well. The idea of invading a fellow NATO territory is anathema to everything we stand for as a country. Why am I not surprised that MAGA scum voices are silent?
  14. Conservatives doing victory laps is par for the course with these traitors. MAGA. Scum.
  15. Senator Padilla, attending a Noem pc, in his home state to boot, was forcibly removed from the room, wrestled to the ground, and handcuffed by law enforcement today. And how does house speaker Mike Johnson react? By demanding that Padilla be censured. Unphuckingbelievable. When I referred to them as “MAGA Scum” in the past, I had no idea just how much I was insulting scum.
  16. He was a physical freak if there ever was one. To be able to do 30+ pull-ups with arms that long is unheard of.
  17. The distinction between “greatest” and “best” is greatly appreciated. Especially as they relate to different eras.
  18. A running back breaking a long TD run on a slippery, snow covered field might be the worst example to illustrate his superior talent. We can find numerous other plays that show how good Cook is.
  19. Trump’s decision to deploy US Marines to LA, after unlawfully deploying the California National Guard will be a major test for our armed forces. Will they have the moral clarity to disobey unlawful orders? It is their sworn obligation to do so. We are rapidly approaching the crossroads in this fight to save our democracy.
  20. The situation became untenable, simple as that.
  21. I never bought that KA over-values his prospects and won’t make deals as a result, but that’s been a theme with both media and fans alike for a while. Glad you cited Eichel for a couple reasons because imo, Eichel couldn’t be over-valued and also because the Eichel situation perfectly illustrates how teams and agents manipulate media to try and ramp up pressure on other organizations. Friedman, especially, was a big mouthpiece for the misinformation being peddled at the time.
  22. Getting the fans to go bonkers in order to ratchet up some pressure on the Sabres is precisely the idea GMs (and agents for that matter) have in mind when it comes to the sort of media manipulation @PromoTheRobotalludes to in that particular post. Makes sense given how bonkers we fans currently are. Especially when it comes to KA over-valuing prospects and being afraid to pull the trigger on deals.
  23. While @PromoTheRobothas certainly called out fans in the past, the particular post that @Pimlachresponded didn’t blame fans in the least. He was merely pointing out how teams can manipulate various media at times.
  24. Just to be clear, I didn’t say coaching wasn’t a part of it. It certainly has been.
  25. While better coaching may have a part in it, I think the main reason ex-Sabres do better on other teams after leaving here has less to do with the coaching on those other teams than it does on the fact that we serve as a farm team for those teams who acquire our players after several years of developing at the NHL level.
