Quick: who is their president of hockey ops?

Production tweaks is putting it very mildly. I understand why the teams like it, but the broadcast needs a complete overhaul. Just copy the NFL model and call it a day.

I still have no idea what a president of hockey ops even is and how many teams even have one. The blurred lines between a more business oriented president and this position are hard to sort out from team to team. The Sabres need a GM, but I'm not sure they need this.

This isn’t going to create a strong NCAA. The Big10 is going to buy a bunch of players, creating a bigger talent gap.

Well at least the product can’t get any worse, right? I’d imagine the whole process was a lot easier for the teams, but now they need to fix things on the tv side.

I can’t wait for the fun time when someone has two high end CHL guys and then need to pick which one goes to the AHL. Situations like the islanders having 3 first round picks come to mind. They won’t have to worry about it, it in the future it may influence how teams make those picks.

Is there anything at this point that stops a college player of any league from signing an equipment deal? If he's allowed to do that, there's a lot more money on the table for McKennafrom the CCMs of the world. The ECHL is getting the guys who have finished up their junior and college eligibility. So at worst, they'll lost a few guys who run their course in junior and then move on to college, but that's a very short-term thing.

By “a number of years” do you mean “pretty much every year”? I think that’s pretty much how it goes and has gone for a long time now, predating Pegula.
