There's a major difference here with him being restricted after the year. There's no 5 years or I walk scenario in play right now, or whatever Ullmark got. I mean, I guess he could try that with going to Europe, but I don't know how likely that would be.

The story as written, yes, I don't believe that happened. If you exaggerate and modify the story to make people look as bad as possible, the story is no longer true. I do believe that some jackasses treated her poorly, but I very highly doubt that she was chased around for the entire game post-hit and was driven to tears. We are talking about a D1 athlete here. And there's a huge difference between not believing womEn when they make an accusation vs. not believing womAn. I prefer to judge each incident individually and not just throw a blanket over everything. This specific story, as presented in that article and the twitter post, it just feels like it's a bit too far off in fantasy land to me. It doesn't add up. Even little things like sitting around in the lobby expecting an apology. Who does that?

This one got me wondering. People always like to comment on how soccer is the most popular in the world. So I was very surprised when I looked up the ranking of leagues’ revenue. The US really does dominate things.

Isn’t it also naive to assume that one person’s telling of an incident is 100% accurate? I’m sorry, but I’m very skeptical of this story as written. D1 coach sitting in the corner crying? There’s some massive exaggeration at play here.

They also have an insanely talented roster topped off by two of the best centers in the universe. Not all situations are the same.

The mid-level beer leagues in Boston were the strangest thing I've ever seen in the game. There's nothing quite like a 50 something acting like he still has a shot at the NHL. I can't count the number of times I responded to a fight challenge with "it's a ****ing beer league". Years ago there was a new story posted on here about a guy getting thrown out of his league for dropping a deuce in another player's glove. That guy played in my league and was one of the nicest guys out there. It was a real shame that he's the one who winds up getting thrown out of the league after he lost his mind in the face of yet another hot headed hack out there trying to fight everyone.

Just the two women on my team. They’re vicious.

Pittsburgh’s streak ended with a tie. They then followed it up with 3 more wins. One little rule change has corrupted the “winning” streak numbers.

On another note, I’ll say it. I think the story is fake.

I absolutely flattened a woman in my beer league one time. We were skating parallel completely unaware of each other and then we both turned into the same lane. It felt great until I realized who it was. She was a very good player who definitely belonged out there, but she had no chance in that collision.

I'm absolutely shocked that the team who got stuck with the crappy superbowl practice field wasn't KC.
