I'm in a town that has had a huge population boom over the last 10-15 years. The entire surrounding area for me, as far as I can tell, was completely farm land maybe 20 years ago. It's such a foreign concept to me to be in an area this new. I'm still adjusting to that because I had spent my entire adult life out in Boston where a 50 year old house probably still qualifies as new. You can't drive anywhere hear without passing every stage of construction for new neighborhoods. It's fun talking to people who have been here 10+ years. We have so many options in town and none of them existed just 10 years ago. It makes me wonder how much of a fight people may have put up before all of this went up. The only real character we'll have in terms of homes is the small section with some of the original farm homes. I always wonder how long some of these will stick around before someone tries to tear them down and replace them with the cookie cutter stuff everyone else has.

What, you've never seen blind people wondering around the field touching all the players?

It's interesting to see a range like that. My neighborhood is four years old and new construction, so there's far less variability. Sure, some are different models and others went with more upgrades, but there really isn't all that much of a range. People may try to list the house at an obscene price, but that will usually get knocked down quickly by the market. A while back I said that the two neighboring houses to mine both were sold at the start of the year. Now two more very close have gone on the market as well. I really am chasing these people away. I need to focus this power on specific people.

The rights for college players are tied into whatever class/year they are in when they are drafted. The only way it would give the Sabres more time with his rights is if he does stay in school that whole time. There is a set cutoff for every one of these players where if they want to become a free agent, they can. If Murray suddenly become a worthwhile prospect, he could leave school right at the three or four year mark (depending on his age when drafted, too lazy to look it up) and become a free agent by a specific date.

It is determined based on your status at the time you are drafted. Going to major junior now does not change anything.

Things seem to be escalating really quickly now. It makes me think we may see an even more crazy ending to this season. It's tough to top last season's.

If I'm hearing that song, I'm more than likely watching Caddyshack. So it's got that going for it, which is nice.

You want to complain about people putting a tiny laptop bag in the overhead bin on a plane, instead of under the seat too?
-
I do wonder who they’ll pick up when the inevitable injury occurs. The castoff from Oakland? and the parallel with the Jets is interesting. Both brought in a free agent but then wound up going only with their in house options.

Upgraded on the plane to seats with free booze!

I've only looked at the still shot in Charlie's post, but I had no idea that was Ali. I'm trying to figure out why, but all I can come up with is the hair. -
Except for the part about being surrounded by people from Boston... but hey, you've gotta do what you've gotta do Edit: And on top of that, one of the oddities of Fenway is that so many of the seats don't actually face the game. But with the stage in centerfield, my seats will actually face the perfect direction for the first time ever!

I'm flying up to Boston tonight to see Pearl Jam at Fenway on sunday.

They have distribution in Charlotte so they’re all over the state. I should be safe for a long time.

Let's ignore for a second who likes what. I currently have a supply of one in the house, but not of the other. That pretty much answers your question in the form of a letter. I see what you did there.

The wife is out and I need to find something too. Thanks to this thread, I will now be grilling up a couple Sahlen's.

And then there's mustard in a jar. You need to use something to spread it.

The old chevy car?

They'll just have to sign less guys to ECHL contracts for Cincy. It doesn't look like there were all that many guys on that team last year who had AHL-level deals.

That's a fun little auto-correct right there. I can't count the number of times I've hit the space bar twice instead of hitting a B or a C.

Does the league not have a first round of cuts anymore? I have no clue who any of these guys are, but for some reason I always enjoyed reading about multiple rounds of cuts.

Why does an offensive tackle play on the outside of the line while a defensive tackle is on the inside? And why is it that center and guard are very descriptive of those two positions, but then the tackle position is so horribly named?

A fire station I drive by every day put out a digital sign board with the message "Don't be a victim". One slight problem though, the word "don't" slowly blinks. So as I first spotted the sign, it said "be a victim".

It's another thing I wish teams would stick to with their jerseys. Along with the bright colors, they're fairly simple.
