  1. As mentioned above, he did wait the requisite 1 year mourning period before taking his buddy's wife number. It was all done very tastefully. πŸ˜‰
  2. Because 9 isn't available yet. Or, he figures 1 year is long enough to not be dissing the memory of Rodrigues.
  3. Appropriate place for your post. But wonder what pinhead put the cover of "The Dark Side of the Moon" as the graphic for "Comfortably Numb." PS - on Sirius' Classic Rewind channel they've had the demo for CN in the regular rotation. The chorus is nearly identical, but the verses went through MAJOR revisions and Gilmour hadn't yet added the solo that makes the song.
  4. OK, "very" is a bit of hyperbole. But so is saying Sekera wasn't a very solid D-man.
  5. True. And things could change significantly, but right now the smart money would be on the Krakers.
  6. And most of his past 2 seasons were spent playing for a coach that prefers vets to rookies and 1/2 of that was for a GM that stockpiled RHDs like they were TP on March 30, 2020. Plus he was injured for a good portion of the tenure of the coach that actually plays young guys. The fact he only has 14 games in at this point is more on circumstances than his play. But, yes, he absolutely isn't a sure thing. But IMHO he's been 3rd pairing quality for the past 2 years and could very likely be the stay at home 1/2 of a 2nd pairing (and might continue to have chemistry w/ Dahlin and actually play above that much like Daughty allows McNabb to be "1st pairing" though at the time he was 3rd pairing quality.)
  7. Can't. Unless they unretire Horton's sweater. πŸ˜‰
  8. Chicago could be tough to beat out. But if Adams is dedicated, it could be done.
  9. A 3rd or higher, yeah. A 4th or 5th, maybe but doubtful. A 6th or 7th, nope. Kind of expecting Adams to just let the chips fall where they may at this point. Botterill brought in Miller & almost positive he gave Girgensons the 3 year deal. With his input, maybe Seattle leaves Borgen alone. Expecting the injury will scare them away from McCabe and with the D available to them don't see a reason for them to take the rights to Pilut.
  10. Are you "eye testing" to alter your ranks when your model's raw numbers are close? (I.e. why is Beniers ahead of Eklund and L'Heureux ahead of the next 4 guys?)
  11. Well, in fairness to Adams, prior to the taxi squad introduction, he nearly had a deal worked out w/ IIRC 3 different teams. And that's where having a Rutherford who's in tight in the league inner circle would help. He'd know before it happened that the league was strongly leaning that way and could've persuaded Adams to up his offers and get the trigger pulled before all the deals went off the table. Of course, Adams didn't put a claim in on any of the waivedbin-season goalies either. So maybe it wouldn't have mattered.
  12. Thought they were talking Hutton. Ullmark is the UFA the Sabres protected.
  13. Really don't get the point of TO protecting 4D. Their D is not impressive.
  14. Can't see Seattle grabbing him. To have him this year they'd have to buy him out of Russia. See him back as a Sabre in a year though.
  15. Forgot him as well. Would be surprised if they make a play for him in their exclusive window. Could see them talk to him but wait until after the expansion draft to sign him if they had interest. He won't be ready to go until November or December. Might as well take Borgen or Miller for free & then try to add Jake if Botterill sells him up to Francis when everybody else can talk to him.
  16. Very reasonable take. As mentioned several times, my guess is Borgen is the target with Miller a possibility. Had Girgensons not missed all of last year expect his contract wouldn't be too scary and would have him ahead of Miller on likeliness to be selected. But Miller is a safer bet.
  17. Okposo & Miller too. Likely 1 of the 2 D is the selection. With Botterill's ties maybe they go off the board & select Girgensons. There are others like Eakin available, but would be shocked if the selected player weren't one of those4. (With Seattle getting something extra for certain should Okposo go.)
  18. Which is exactly what the list should've been. Hopefully this means Adams expects he can re-sign Ullmark.
  19. Are you hearing Girgensons might be protected? Why, Santy Claus, WHY?
  20. Very interesting point. (Technically, the Q is whether he'd be top 8 or not, but the point stands nonetheless.) Maybe Miller really is Seattle's play regardless of whether Francis coerces a sweetener or not.
  21. Might have actually been born in a hospital in Vancouver which would make both @dudacek and your Googling accurate.
  22. πŸ˜„ Pretty sure one of the, if not THE, last thing we need is another generation of 'them.'
  23. Pretty friggin' ballsy. The Habs become a bubble team that needs a break or 2 to get into the dance without a healthy Price. Would almost definitely take that. Barring injuries, he'll be worth his contract for at least 3 of the 5 remaining years. They can figure out how to dump ithe contract when the time comes.
  24. Because Florida lost Marchessault AND Riley Smith last time. They have 2 better goalies, though 1 is long in the tooth and VERY expensive. They'd rather lose their 3rd goalie (who they'll end up losing anyway even without an expansion draft as he's not going to re-sign to be their AHL affiliate goalie) and NO skaters than lose him and a skater at the price of gaining a 3rd round pick. The 3rd rounder isn't equivalent value to Dreiger nor the other guy they'd then lose.
