This feels like a game where the Sabres pull off a W in spite of themselves. -
That's EXACTLY what he's saying. There's no other reason to refer to Buffalo as a "hockey market."

Kesselring comments. That didn’t take long.

Mr. Kesselring. I pay your salary. I work a job 8+ hours a day 6 days a week to buy tickets, pay for the ability to watch tv and buy merchandise. The franchise you currently play for has been a depressing chaotic mess for the last 14 years. I will be critical whenever I want and boo you off the ice. My boss pays me a ridiculously good salary to achieve at a high level everyday and I expect the same from you everyday you get on the ice. Regards, Disgruntled Sabres fan -
We need to stop bringing in guys that even notice this stuff. They should be so freaking focused on improving on the ice that they don’t hear any noise. I honestly don’t know if this is a younger generation thing when they’re always on their phones and always on social media and hearing all the noise but this ***** is pathetic. Stay off social media and focus on your game. So sick of the whining from these guys. And we have no ability to evaluate players that can stay focused and hold themselves accountable and hold each other accountable
-
I said this last night in the game thread— you really get a sense of the guys they bring in and how sensitive they are to criticism. It’s genuinely pathetic in my opinion. You guys absolutely suck. You don’t even play with enough effort. You lose puck battles and stop skating when you’re up 2 to 0. Leaving a goalie playing great hung out to dry to get lit up. and I also said this last year about how one of the core issues is how terrible they are at evaluating players psychologically. McKinnon has a bad reputation as being a psycho and being a jerk of a teammate essentially, but that comes with being one of the best players in the world and leading a team. You have to hold guys accountable and we see the same thing not happening with the Buffalo Bills. You have to have players that are willing to not be your best buddy 24/7/365. You’re either there to win and be truly great or you’re there to cash a check. All we have are cash checkers. Other than Benson honestly. These guys whining about being criticized is the most pathetic thing DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT KESSERLING

I’m not getting any of this from that comment. Imo, he is merely saying that in Utah, the fans were just happy to have a team. In Buffalo, they are actually hockey fans.

The general rule of thumb I was taught is that you don't enter the intersection unless you can clear it before the light turns red. So if I look at oncoming traffic and I see a long line then I do not enter the intersection until I can see a potential gap in the traffic that would allow me to complete my turn. Also told that if you are in the intersection when the light turns red you have effectively run the red light and could be ticketed. This is true going straight, left, or right. I tend to drive cautious because I have enough crap happening in life and enough car problems to not have to deal with an accident, etc.

If you wagered, say, $10,000 on the Avalanche to win straight-up tonight... would your winnings be... $10,025? -
Holy hell I love this quote. He's hitting the team in two ways. First, Levi is a really good goalie but the team in front of him is letting him down. Second, Levi needs to find a way to pick his team up with a save and not wilt if the skaters on the ice aren't getting it done. The more I hear about this guy... yeah.

No. Because even with those players in the lineup the defensive zone coverage still doesn't understand the concept of the backdoor or trailing high slot player. Also this, but I don't think they'd be in a playoff spot because the coaching is horrible and the PP sucks along with defensive zone coverage. It's not alarming and it's not unique. It's a call out that it's tougher to play in a market where fans are critical of the product on the ice. We hear players talk about the pressure of playing in Toronto and Montreal. It's a real thing. We're viewing this from the eyes of LONG TIME fans where it's been misery and we're critical because it's been misery. It's not easy for anyone to jump into that scenario and have the same feeling as coming from a market where fans were just excited they had a hockey team. To me this is much ado about nothing and an attempt to stir the pot by a media personality. It's harder to play in Buffalo than Utah and certainly Arizona where so few cared about the team that they kept bouncing around to the arena that would have them. In my opinion he's complimenting the Buffalo area as being a hockey market with fans who don't accept an inferior product. I don't think it's a sentiment that he isn't the type of player to embrace it. He's just commenting on the difference.

I gotta wonder if the PP wouldn’t be at least a little better if it weren’t currently missing four contributors.

The learning part is really important. Understanding how to use your skills within the next level of competition but also to develop them further and gain new ones. McKenna has a great base, he's under the microscope though and that won't change.

When does Adams, the entire front office and coaching staff get fired? Until that happens nothing is going to change! -
A reason is a justifiable explanation for an outcome. An excuse is an unjustifiable reason. Injuries are real. The question we need to debate is whether the players being lost to injury would change the outcomes of the results on the ice. In other words, do the injuries justify the losses? If we believe they do, then it's a reason and we should accept that the CURRENT situation is an outcome of the injuries. Now, the OVERALL situation and a discussion on Kevyn Adams as a GM.. that's another story. He's hopeless and even if the injuries are seen as a reason for the outcome I would still argue that the team isn't where it needs to be and hasn't been.
-
Super alarming comment from a guy who has been completely invisible. If you are involved in a trade where the player going the other way is already exceeding expectations, should you really be bumping your gums about how “hard it is to play” for fans that aren’t just simps waiting for the next goal. This attitude is disgraceful.

So.. I saw the Mitts statement. Is this more like early Jack Eichel who kept trying to do things that did not work? Back then I called it his arrogance. Because it had always worked before he was slow in understanding that the margin for error shrunk along with the gap in talent. So he had to learn how to apply his elevated skill differently to the NHL game.
