There is no hope at this point. Pegula hasn’t tried to make the Sabres good since before the Bills got good. Matter of fact he did everything humanly possible to make them worse by cutting cost down to bare bones. When the owner shows he gives a *****, then I’ll have hope. The Sabres were a means to an end and the Bills were the end. There is no savior like Josh Allen coming to the Sabres. They actually had their Josh Allen with Eichel/Reinhart and they pissed them away because the Bills were more important. The Sabres are what they are and nothing is going to change that, at least in my lifetime.

Whether it's the GM or the coaches or the players, here we go again, with the annual swoon in November and December, digging a hole they'll never dig themselves out of. There was a glimmer of hope when they actually got above .500 but that's gone now. And so probably is Tuch and anyone else who can find equivalent pay with a professional franchise.

Accepting this is important to fixing because you can’t target what you need if you don’t know what you actually need. Maybe Johnson with Timmins. I have a hard time believing Power + Kulich can’t land a legit 1LW or add a draft pick to it for a 1C. Quinn + Greenway has to get you a power forward that doesn’t have stone hands and an injury liability. UPL one for one on a backup possibility. As far as prospects go, what use is learning to win in the AHL if they’re going to learn to lose in the NHL. Not everyone is a future Sabre. Some are just currency so spend it.

Haven’t won in regulation since Greenway got back - but hey he was fairly physical in that one game. No coincidence at all. I’m so sick of seeing this guy play hockey. 15 plus minutes of ice time a game. Zero offense. Inconsistent physicality which he clearly does not enjoy. 1 point in 4 games. 1-3 with him the win being the SO against Washington.

If you're going to think this way they need to do what the Bruins did last year and mid season deconstruct. Then drop like a stone as low as they can go. You trade those vets for almost ready prospects like Bruins did for Minten (who is really good - hate the Leafs, but they drafted well). To do that, as I said in the game thread, now is the time to fire Adams. Let the new guy get on with it this year so as not to waste next year.

Well you have to like the comeback attempt but you can see at the end they look dead inside again. They know it and we know it, you aren't going anywhere losing all these games, even if they are close. I'd really really really like to see Adams fired now. Make Jarmo GM if that's the plan but do it now. Let the new guy start planning for the deadline, potential tear downs and future draft. If they do the usual and hire in the off season they'll lose more years in the adjustment period. Come on Terry. You can shake up whole neighborhoods with that frakking. Shake up this hockey team. It depends. You have to time it out with the face off and which top guys are rested and ready to go. The thinking isn't we will be attacking for 3 minutes. It's just now's a good time for the line match ups we want. or at least it should be.

From the players to the coaching to the GM to the dim owner, count on lack of rational response to any concrete situation. Prudence is a virtue that has learned wisdom to the point that there is a natural "feel" for the proper response to the particulars of a situation. You'd think there'd be some of that with Ruff, but the pervasive fog of imbecility seems nearly invincible.

Know that analytics says pull the goalie early. But, THIS team is NOT going to keep the puck in the other team's end for 3 minutes straight. They occassionally can do it for a minute, minute & a half. So, how about we account for the players we actually have and pull the goalie at the 1st chance AFTER there's only 100 seconds left in the 3rd when you're only down by 1 goal. Get it that if they're down by 2 they'll need to pull the goalie sooner and hope; but please DON'T continue to pull him so early when you're only down by 1.

The team sucks the FO sucks the owner sucks and the future sucks.... wait till the only people with talent in the team start to force their way out then you will really know what sucks it. Unless TP sells the team the Webster dictionary with not even have a definition next to the word suck just a team picture of the Butterknives .

I just got home and checked the score. Oof. I'm pretty sure I had much more fun at the Friendsgiving, complete with mariachi band.

It's bad. There's no sugar coating it. But when Sabres hockey is back, you'll be glad you were here to write that post. I slowly quit on the Bills between 2007 and 2012 ish. I regret that now. There is no putting that Humpty Dumpty back together again. When it's gone, it's gone. Just survive and keep hoping.

He does put his own flare on it. He highlights the word "the" in the phrase "o'er the land of THE free." But will take that over making the song last an extra 2 minutes as the anthem singer decides people really came to see a 2 song concert rather than a hockey game. It's such a small thing to make THAT his own take on the anthem. Miss it.

This sucks. I really feel like the only solution is for TP to sell the team, and I don’t see that happening.

Without looking at other box scores for today, these 2 ENG would put them in a tie with Minnesota with 6. I think the San Jose Sharks are lifting themselves from the quagmire and will make the playoffs again before the Sabres. I should probably go back to rooting for them. Cellebrini is at another level.

Yeah, same. Also...helpless. Hockey is my favorite sport. I so badly want a good team to root for. Every year I get this lump of coal and there's no end in sight. I repeat myself constantly with this but this isn't a serious hockey organization and I honestly don't know when they'll ever be good again.
