  1. Past hour
  2. The French have called in...Clouseau !
  3. I agree. That's the usual problem with Dahlin. He tries to do too much and sometimes that costs him. It's partly trying to press for offense at times and also trying to cover for a partner who is out of position or forwards that miss their assignments. Like a lot of highly skilled players he has a tendency to over estimate his ability to be in two places at the same time.
  4. Some of the fireworks from last night
  5. You may be mixing up Jarmo with Karmonus who lives in Pittsburgh.
  6. Not really. Average age was 26. I also wonder if the D pairings had hurt Dahlin a little? Truthfully, I think he’s been fine, as have the rest of the team of late.
  7. Kid? You one of those guys? Teenagers won WW2.
  8. To this point no one has mentioned the blue and gold.
  9. You cannot seriously think that Adams has not terribly mishandled the goalie position during his tenure here. 20-21 -- Ullmark, Tokarski, Hutton -- let's give him a pass for inheriting a very difficult situation with Krueger, Covid and a belt-tightening owner. 21-22 -- after butchering the Ullmark contract and losing him to Boston, where he shines, KA goes with Craig Anderson, Tokarski and Dell. Grade: F 22-23 -- UPL, Anderson, Comrie. Comrie was the shiny new toy, who crashed and burned, leaving us with mediocrities in UPL (.891, 3.61) and Anderson (.908, 3.06). Grade: F 23-24 -- It was supposed to be wunderkind Levi, but he couldn't handle it, so UPL got the #1 job and had the best year of his career. Comrie was bad again. Grade: inadvertent B. 24-25 -- UPL got a big contract before the season and promptly pooped the bed with .887 and 3.20 in 55 games. Reimer, the definition of "journeyman", was better and took over down the stretch. Grade: F That's 3 Fs, a lucky B, a charitable incomplete in his 1st season and an incomplete in his 6th season. And it wasn't because it couldn't be helped.
  10. Plus, they've had at least 3 pieces out every game so far. They've looked pretty good the last 5.
  11. Relying on an "everybody needs to be healthy for us to be good" angle is a losing proposition in pro sports. Might as well be walking thru a desert looking for a mirage.
  12. What'chu talkin' 'bout? Louie DePalma rocked a vest PROUDLY for years!
  13. They seem to often be a little counter intuitive. They dial in against the “elite” starters and really work the count, they just DO NOT strike out which makes it incredibly difficult on said starters, who aren’t used to their relentless approach, 1 through 9. Against Seattle game 1 when they got the Mariners’ “5th” starter they struggled. Basically, they actually seem to up their game when facing the best pitching
  14. Today
  15. Sabres fans should invade the stadium!! Unfortunately, Sabres Mafia doesn't travel as well as Bills Mafia
  16. Quinn has been aggressive in the offensives zone, on the attack, which is the best part of his game. When he plays like this it leads success for him and his line. Zucker is a guy that seems to be a good complimentary winger for Quinn. When Quinn vanishes he stops creating offense, and because he does not play a strong 200 ft game he appears to not be doing anything at all. Unlike Tuch, who can be in a goal scoring lull and still be a solid contributor in the d-zone, or block shots, and play the PK, and take advantage of his size and reach in other ways. Quinn has none of that. So I would be pushing Quinn to attack the offensive zone with shots and passes, and to get his body to the net - get off the perimeter and go were the goals are. He has to bring the game that he has, offensive skills, he needs to play stronger and win those puck battles, even when the other team is trying hard to shut it down. He is 24, its time to be a man out there.
  17. He did bring Bobrovsky from Filly. So, he actually understands you need a top guy. Of course, Bob wanted nothing to do with reupping. But he did land him once.
  18. Jorcus

    Dahlin

Dahlin is +/- negative 7 and has not played a game where he has had a positive +/- stat. I said this last year but if he is not +20 at the end of the year we are probably not in the playoffs. He has the capability to go off at any time though and it certainly helps that players around him are doing well. I would expect things to go better. It would be hard to win without him playing well.
  19. The lineup is presented to the officials before the game. It doesn't change during the game. Zucker was in the lineup for the entire game, he just didn't finish the game. Beyond that, the source of my annoyance is without a shred of data, people had Zucker indeed out of the lineup... for weeks... with bones cracked like kindling... in an iron lung. Which is the only reason Zucker Is Back! had any ring of truthiness. He's not back. He didn't go anywhere except down the tunnel for a bit.
