  1. Past hour
  2. Don’t know how to feel about this. My gut tells me it’s a solid move, here’s to hoping it doesn’t end up splattering all over the bowl.
  3. As is tradition, I’m here expecting the best. Better defensive pairs and more mature forwards = the loss of Peterka’s goal scoring. The Sabres haven’t had a hard time scoring goals. I’m here in the hopium den expecting Tage/Norris production to light it up and pushing Tuch to RW2 as a driver to a second productive line on a playoff team.
  4. This explains it. That is a smart move for them.
  5. They’ll straighten it out against the Sabres.
  6. Rags looked like they either don't grasp Sullivan's system yet or want no part of it. All the experts predicting their resurgence might have it wrong. Too early to say obviously but they looked bad.
  7. Yes. We already know Dahls & Bo are great as a pair. Assuming health, Kess & Power are a huge upgrade over Muel on the same pair. Timmons is an upgrade over Clifton and whomever. He did say that this may not be enough to cover for shoddy goaltending. But it’s a much better template than they were working with last year. Hope is a ***** strategy, but this is the path toward improvement. As Travis said, getting league average goaltending with this defense core = hopium.
  8. There's a flaw in your logic. As the pool of UFAs hitting the market shrinks, the cap space available on the market also shrinks. There's a unique offset this offseason. If Tuch signs with Buffalo b4 July 1, he can sign for 8yrs, however if he goes to UFA to sign elsewhere, he can only sign for 6.
  9. People really don't seem to understand how markets work or the concept of supply and demand: Pool of top UFA's hitting market shrinks = Cost for Tuch goes up. It does absolutely no such thing.
  10. Today
  11. He also said the we are in a world of trouble with goaltending and it doesn’t matter how good your defense is with a goalie situation like ours.
  12. I don't know how much the comparables will matter...but Kyle Connor: Younger than Tuch, less career injury history, about 100 more career goals, 200 more career points, multiple 40 goal seasons, almost 50 goals in 2021-22......3 points shy of a 100 point season last year.. If he gets 12m, Tuch shouldn't get anything over 10m per year.
  13. If Kyle Connor signs for the alleged 12mil x 8 years that's going around, that puts a hard cap impo on what Tuch could ask. But we shall see. At this rate, 10 x 6yrs would be exceptional and 10x 7yrs livable.
  14. Kyle Connor is extending in Winnepeg 12 million AAV on a long term deal, reported by EF. no confirmation of years yet this should mean Tuch can’t eclipse 10 per season as Connor is a much better player
  15. Correct. It’s past time for incremental improve or for “entertaining” hockey. It’s win now and nothing else matters. Unfortunately Adams gave us 4 blocks of Swiss cheese to man our goal.
  16. Let’s hope the stagnant lifeless product gives us television fans something to cheer for. I haven’t spent any money on this team in years. In fact I think I’ve made money off of this team selling stuff in recent years
  17. Nope, the league doesn’t release whether multiple claims were made.
  18. If only the team shared this attitude. We have Schroedinger’s backup. We don’t know if he’s a #2 until we open the box. That’s a fun situation for a team with a 14 year playoff drought. The worst part is it’s still an improvement over Georgiev.
  19. Is it crazy that I think I feel more comfortable with Lyon-Ellis right now rather than UPL-Georgiev
  20. Agreed you don’t typically build systems for goalies. I think what you want to do is to limit high danger opportunities, which is good for every goalie
  21. Well back in the 80’s there was no Internet forums for fans to commiserate on. The group negativity that we have here is contagious but it’s also a coping mechanism. But the regular fans here watch every game and follow them closely, even in the off season. I stopped going because I’m out of town, it cost a lot to travel and to buy hockey tickets. But the big reason is that when I go they almost never win and I’m just sick of it. They don’t win because they are a poorly run team at the top. I’m not a fan of Terry Pegula, I’m a fan of the team he bought. He is not getting any more ticket money from me until he fixes the mess he created. I’ll be a die hard fan from a safe distance.
  22. Is there a way of looking that up?
  23. We don't even have a true #2 goalie.
  24. Personally I don’t think outworking anyone is enough for this crowd any more. Or being exciting and explosive. Or thumping bodies. I don’t know that we’d even recognize those things if and when they happen. It’s only about winning enough games to make the playoffs. Anything else is meaningless.
  25. Yesterday
  26. A gif the even looks like a zombie, nice.
  27. I get your point. But "we were outworked" can also sometimes be nothing more than "we aren't as good as them".
