  3. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6413760/2025/06/10/nhl-draft-2025-prospects-rankings-pronman/ My favorite profile in here is Psenicka who Pronman gives below average skating too and then says "He skates very well for a 6-foot-5 defender. His mobility and ability to make stops allowed him to play pro games at the top level in Czechia before coming over to the WHL midseason." So... he's a below average skater except he's not? Oh wait found another below average skater... "Kettles stands out immediately as a 6-foot-5 defenseman who can move at an NHL level. He will be able to close on checks and retrieve pucks at the top level due to his mobility." Pronman rates skating based solely on speed.
  4. Nope. He talks and takes no action. Which is fair if he is just checking into the situation, and he can now use it in a future press conference as actively looking.
  5. I saw Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers on Sunday night at Red Rocks. They were the opener followed by Warren Haynes Band and then Big Head Todd & the Monsters. It was pretty entertaining. Of course he can't sing but he can carry a tune and has that personality. He had an 8 piece band with him and they were quite good. Basically, an awesome cover band. He did Like a Rolling Stone and Love the One You're With to end the 1 hour set and it had everyone on their feet singing. I think this was maybe their 3rd show in two years and they have 4 more (something like that). Murray called it one of the greatest nights of his life to perform at Red Rocks. He was smiling the whole time.
  6. If you deeply believe that Norris can’t and won’t stay healthy, then why do you believe other organizations won’t have made the same assessment?
  7. I hope Tooth applies.
  8. Today
  9. Well, that, and he called the owner a country, but without a tree.
  10. In the pre cap era there were always a few teams that spent way more than others. Only one team won the cup just like now and it was rarely the biggest spending team. So in many ways it's still the same as it was. You want true equity you 1) base the cap on after tax salary 2) you can allow players to come off LTIR and be on the expanded roster but the on ice team has to remain cap compliant. So if a team like Vegas wanted a Pieterangelo off LTIR they'd have to sit somebody else or dress less players. Their choice. It's a simple fix. league don't care though. They like favored markets and big markets winning.
  11. I really badly want Norris traded because I simply do not believe in his health and his ability to stay healthy. Demko has said he wants to stay in Vancouver. I don't know if that matters or not, but if so I don't imagine he'd want to be in Buffalo long term. His injury status also concerns me. I am not however, trading UPL until after we have established another goalie here. I want Levi to have to force a player out and the goalie issue being too many goalies and not a thin crop reliant on Levi stepping up to succeed. Get a better D and the goalies will look better too.
  12. Once again proving that analytics have less value than many people believe.
  13. Anybody want to be the Bills mascot?? The job is available. https://www.teamworkonline.com/football-jobs/buffalo-bills/buffalo-bills-29559/mascot-billy-buffalo-2124369?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwK1iRhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHmV-eeOH3tImtuCSAVlXlDG8m8Ce4oU5yELf-P-2eebqdqBEmPmGBGatJc8h_aem_UyIA1a2A5VptGVW9KkKPiQ
  14. He’s the best player of all time, comps to Josh Allen need not apply. But yes he can be fun to root against
  15. https://canucksarmy.com/news/vancouver-canucks-offseason-centre-trade-target-josh-norris Canucks tried to trade for Norris at the deadline but it hit a snag and he went to Buffalo. Norris and Quinn Hughes are good friends. Lets get Stupid: Norris,, UPL, #9, prospect for EP40, Demko, 😛
  16. I had thought his firing was precipitated by calling Kim a derogatory word. Hence, all the “character” talk.
  17. I read a transcript of Cook's press conference today. I appreciate that, so far, he sounds fully committed to playing out his contract. He's a key piece of that offense. I hope that they can get something done that satisfies both sides, but I am prepared for it not to happen.
  18. I’m not defending Pegula or Adams (they are bad at their roles, and big picture are obviously more to blame than Ruff). I just think it’s absurd to think that if Ruff, the venerable veteran, hand-picked, nobody else considered, greatest coach in team history, 3rd all-times in games coached and 5th in wins, said that in order to improve chances of winning he needed to bring in one guy that could help install his system or coach the PP, that Adams and Pegula would say no to spending an extra $350K (from what I can gather, about an average assistant coaching salary). I mean, I think things are pretty dire. But that is far more bleak than even I believe. If that’s the case, then we are in “no hope” territory.
  19. Bills concern is their D. That's what came up short in the playoffs. Beane seems to get that. Yet Cook and wishing for a 17th WR is driving the media hype bus.
  20. If Miller is brought in and Byram is dealt, then another solid 3/4 defenseman needs to be added. If that doesn’t happen, there will be a regression to a unit that can’t afford to slide back. I know this will be a contrarian view but I have no problem keeping Samuelson. I do expect him to improve his play. How much? Can’t say.
  21. Meanwhile, in my manager's yard, 100 mph winds: 1 200-year-old pecan tree: 0
  22. That is arguably the worst presser in Buffalo Sports history. Either that or the "Hockey Heaven" speech. I feel like I am being gaslighted. Like this cannot be real. There aren't real humans who watch those 20 minutes and come away with "ya know, I think somebody else is the problem here" Adams literally admits that Lindy asked in the interview process about the coaches and then brought it up again after getting to know everybody. There is no back and forth between two people who want to keep the coaching staff that is already in place. It is, "you still like them?"..."yeah"..."cool". And you move on.
  23. WTF are we talking about here? This is sooo far out of the realm of reasonable. There have been next almost zero HC who proactively quit their jobs mid-contract that aren't part of some joint agreement to walk away rather than be fired. Lindy would be 1 of 1 who spent 30 years in the same city only to walk out of the org on terrible terms mid contract. It would be a horrendous end to any coaches legacy for the org, for the fans, and for Lindy himself. I think he was a little bamboolzed by making some assumptions about the same weird wording we constantly hear from Adams. And instead of ending his tenure hanging the city out to dry he is sticking around to try and right this thing before he rides off into the sunset. Adams is constantly smug in his wording, and particularly so in what is the worst press conference in Buffalo sports history. He is wildly evasive and aggressive from start to finish. Assistant coaches included. I am just so baffled how anybody can listen to that interview and think that enemy number one and in this organization is Terrance Pegula and Kevyn Adams. And then talk about a team that has lead the league in unused cap dollars over 5 years and thing 'It DoEsNt MaKe SeNsT tHaT pEgUlA WoUldNt SpEnD oN nEw CoAcHeS" I don't think Lindy is a world beater. He isn't, especially at this point in his career. The best part of Lindy is that he can make a 10 goal scorer a 20 goal scorer. The worst part is that he can take a 30 goal scorer and also make them a 20 goal scorer. He can take the 20th best roster and get them into the playoffs and maybe steal a series. But he also won't have the 6th best roster in the conference finals all the time either.
  24. This is exactly it. Going back and parsing Adams' statements in the Palm Trees and Taxes press conference won't reveal anything definitive about the terms Lindy accepted when he became HC.
