  3. Lindy Ruff said that the last game was "Worst level of compete and skating and moving the feet that I’ve seen.” so do the Sabres rebound on home ice or are they too fragile to overcome losing Norris? Zach Benson is still out, haven't won without him. Kesselring is still out. Probably going to get some more Bryson on special teams. Maybe Alex Tuch will finally show up or do something.
  4. The quote: Lindy Ruff said: “We have to raise our level of compete. I thought our compete was terrible. Worst level of compete and skating and moving the feet that I’ve seen.”
  5. Appert makes Granato look like Al Arbor in comparison. He is so awful that there is zero chance of any dead cat bounce when he gets the job.
  6. Hard to compete if you're not good enough.
  7. Maybe it stems from the head coach who shows absolutely no emotion. It seems like everyone is just collecting a check on this team with very little effort, no accountability.
  8. Maybe Lindy shouldn't do things like play Mason Geertsten, a guy who has no freaking business being anywhere near an NHL roster.
  9. The Sabres have a power play?
  10. Yes, and my third is sarcasm. I'll get back to you in my fourth, which is ancient Sumerian.
  11. Is English your 2nd language?
  12. Tuch got to live his childhood dream and wear the crest. (Both old school and ‘90s.) That’s awesome for him. But this organization is not the Sabres of his dreams. It’s the Pegula-Adams version. And as a hockey player with a dwindling number of years to play, he and any other self-respecting player who wants to win, should get away from it if at all possible.
  13. Sabrehood also rhymes with Neighborhood.
  14. Sorry for any confusion, guys. Of the options I gave one was 7:00 ET. The other was 9 ET. This was because I had another draft at 8 ET. I gave myself an extra 15 mins in moving it to 6:45 ET. It was posted on the Yahoo league page on 9/19 and wasn’t changed.
  15. The Sabres have always been a farm team. They luck into a good squad every so often, but that’s about it. Lately, not so often.
  16. https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nhl/sabres/article_2e5fd32e-6e84-4bc0-9c55-ca43645375da.html I mean...no idea what to even say. After you get shutout at home to start the season, how in God's name do you think it's acceptable to have an even worse performance against the Bruins where you only get 1 shot on goal in the 1st period?? The more things change, the more they stay the same. A team who constantly thinks they are the only team in the NHL entitled to wins instead of having to go earn them.
  17. I like Tuch, so I say this in all honesty - it would be best for his career to move on next season. I understand that he loves the concept of being a Sabre.
  18. Just had a conversation with the wife about Tuch. I explained a short history of good players the Sabres trade who then win a cup. She asked, so the Sabres are like a farm team?
  19. And Benson looks dirty on his cleanest days. Good to know that's not just a vibe, he is literally always unclean. Lol.
  20. I forgot about (maybe repressed is more accurate) the mockery of a coaching search. It really is the exclamation point to it all.
  21. Oh yes, I was just responding to your sentence that said "pummel Zadorov" to point out the outcome would not necessarily be a one sided affair. The concept of vengeance for the hit on Power is another matter. From what I've seen from Geertson so far is he's a non factor. IF Geertson was using his body, if he hit a Bruin into the bench, maybe then you'd see a Bruin response. Pretty sure you would actually from Jeannot, or Zadorov, maybe Kastelic, but there'd be a response. But Geertson plays passively and ineffectively so why bother with him? Ruff knows the Sabres are soft and he's hoping they play bigger with a guy like Geertson around, but so far they don't. Maybe Krebs does and maybe Benson will, but overall they just aren't that sort of player and that's what we have, a bunch of Jack Quinns. Some of them look like they've already checked out. Geertson is just Ruff trying to redo John Scott. They'd be better off with Dunne in my opinion because, although he's not as heavyweight, he plays a more complete and effective 4th line game.
  22. Seems to be a consistent theme in both teams Terry owns. He wants compliant, don't ever rock the boat people in his organizations. They consistently trade or cut anyone on either team who might voice any issues within the team. Terry thinks having his type of people, with his “faith, family, football/hockey” values is the most important thing in an organization.
